Nepomuceno, Mariluce Pascoína. January 2007 (has links)
The present research was conducted with the objective to evaluate the effect of sowing time and sowing site or the weed interference periods in the peanut crop (Arachis hypogaea cv. IAC Runner 886). At 2004/05 and 2005/06 growing season, yield experiments were carried out in different times and in two fields at Jaboticabal area (FEPP-UNESP and Luzitânia), both with Red Latosol, but with loam and median texture, respectively, in a total of four experiments for each growing season. To each experiment the experimental design was the randomized blocks with four replications, containing treatments with different weedy or weed free periods, or with weeds control, with four replications. The main weed plants species at the area where: Xanthium strumarium, Cenchrus echinatus, Digitaria nuda and Alternanthera tenella, while at Luzitânia place the weeds were: Cyperus rotundus, Commelina benghalensis, Euphorbia heterophylla, Desmodium tortuosum and Ipomoea triloba; at 2005/06 harvest at FEPP were: C. echinatus, Panicum maximum, Amaranthus retroflexus, Indigofera hirsute, A. tenella, Acanthospermum hispidum and Eleusine indica, while at Luzitânica site the weeds were: I. triloba, D. nuda, Hyptis lophanta, Sida ssp e Saccharum spp. Although the sowing sites had been different according to its weeds community, density and dry matter accumulation, no effect was observed over the interference periods, resulting in a Before Interference Period (BIP) of 30 days after emergence (DAE) and a Whole Period of Prevention for Interference (WPPI) of 90 DAE. Not considering the locality, the peanut sowing at the second period, specially at the beginning of December, resulted in small crop production, resulting from a higher dry matter accumulation by the weeds, however without PAI change, but enlarging the WPPI in seven days...(Complete abstract, acess undermentioned eletronic adress) / Mestre

Carvalho, Giorge França Gomes de. January 2014 (has links)
Abstract: The productive sector of the Brazilian citrus industry, the largest at the world in oranges and concentrated citrus juice, faces intense occurrence of pests and diseases. In an attempt to maintain its productivity it makes intense use of pesticides on orchards areas. Place to occurrence, degree of infestation and pest movement have a great influence to crop protection, which the efficiency depends on of distribution of pesticides around canopy. There are many causes that lead to failure of the treatment plant in citrus. Among the main of that the equipment poorly calibrated and rated in terms of size of citrus trees, associated with the project from the sprayers that provide difficulties to better direct sprays to plants. In addition, there are also economic and environmental consequences related to losses by runoff and drift of spraying applied, and sometimes we lose more than 50% of the volume applied. Due that, we elaborate this study to evaluate a surrounding sprayer developed in bases of application rate, spraying distribution and control of Brevipalpus phoenicis (Geijskes, 1939) and fungus Guignardia citricarpa Kiely [Phyllosticta citricarpa (McAlp.) van der Aa .]) at different positions of citrus trees, chosen to constituted greater crop protection problems and to be among the main components in current production costs of citrus in São Paulo. To evaluations will be used two models of tractor-sprayer, a model Arbus 2000® manufactured by Máquinas Agrícolas Jacto S.A., commonly used in citrus in Brazil, considered in this project as the default system (control applied), and another of model Topspray®, manufactured by Herbicat Ltda. equipment, recently launched and developed in a joint with the company and researchers including the authors of this project. The surrounding sprayer brought with it enough characteristics to be considered a viable alternative to use / Doutor

The postbloom fruit drop (PFD), caused by Colletotrichum acutatum and C. gloeosporioides, considerably reduces citrus production in the main producing areas and the use of fungicides is still the most effective control strategy. In 2012 benzimidazoles, chemical group which, for many years, was important in controlling PFD, have had their use suspended in citrus orchards for the production of exportation juice, an adaptation requirement to the quality standards of the USA, the main buyer. As a result, it was made necessary to search for new fungicides enhancing good agronomic efficiency and heeding the rate of waste allowed. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate new chemical groups of fungicides, alone or in combination, as well as growth regulators, resistance inducers and chemical fertilizers to control PFC in commercial orchards, during 2012/13 and 2013/14 crop seasons. The experiments were performed with sweet orange 'Pera' trees located in the municipalities of Itapetininga (IT), Santa Cruz do Rio Pardo (SC) and Casa Branca (CB). The experimental design was a randomized block design (RBD) with five replications. Among the new management strategies were evaluated: i) fungicides of the strobilurin group in combination with other chemical groups; ii) growth regulators applied alone or in combination with hormonal regulators and fungicides; iii) efficiency of strobilurin and triazole mixtures applied in conjunction with hormonal regulators and chemical fertilizers; iv) efficiency of strobilurins and triazoles combined with chlorothalonil, v) efficiency Stimulate® combined to Hold® and fungicide. It was observed that fungicides of the strobilurin and triazoles groups or in combination with chlorothalonil, as well as the use of bioregulators e resistance inducers are efficient alternative preventive control of the PFC

Abstract: Among the major diseases that occur in citrus post-harvest stand out green mold, blue mold and sour rot, caused by Penicillium digitatum, Penicillium italicum and Geotrichum candidum, respectively. An alternative for the control of these diseases is through the use of yeasts. Thus, the aim of the present study was to isolate, select and identify yeasts from soil, leaves, flowers and fruits of different citrus producing regions of the São Paulo State, with potential application as biocontrol agents for postharvest pathogens. Ninety-five yeast isolates were obtained from 14 counties in the São Paulo State. The phylloplane was the source of 90.5% of the isolates. Tests conducted in vitro, with G. candidum showed that ACBL-77 presented the highest inhibition of mycelial growth (35%) and both strains ACBL-68 and ACB-K1 (Saccharomyces cerevisiae), provided the highest values of inhibitions of conidia germination, 83 and 82%, respectively. When the control of sour rot in fruits of 'Pera' sweet Orange was evaluated, three isolates (ACBL-23, ACBL-44 and ACBL-77) were the most effective in controlling the disease in a preventive and curative way. In in vitro assays with P. digitatum, five yeast strains (ACBL-76, ACBL-82, ACBL-84 and ACBL-87) inhibited the mycelial growth with values above 80%. However, when the ability of yeast to control green mold was evaluated on orange fruits, only two isolates (ACBL-82 and ACBL-86) were able to decrease the progress and also the incidence of the disease when used preventively. Eight isolates inhibited the mycelial growth of P. italicum above 80%, and the isolate ACBL-04 provided 100% of inhibition. In in vivo assays, four isolates (ACBL-04, ACBL-05, ACBL-08 and ACBL-11) were effective in reducing the progress of blue mold as well as in inhibiting the incidence of disease when applied preventively / Mestre

(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: The Soybean (Glycine max) is one of the most important crops in Brazilian agribusiness. One of the main phytosanitary problems occurring in this crop is the attack of insect pests, which are present from the emergence of the seedling until the harvest. The control of these insects is carried out from synthetic insecticides. However, the biological control tactic has been increasingly used in Brazil, becoming an important tool in Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Among the options, the Trichogramma pretiosum Riley (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) is a parasitoid egg reduces the infestation of populations of insect pests of the order Lepidoptera, providing less environmental impact and the production of healthier foods. Thus, the present work verified the bioecological characteristics of T. pretiosum in Heliothinae species, as well as evaluating different amounts and forms of release of this parasitoid, demonstrating its role in the management of lepidopteran pests in the soybean crop. To achieve this objective the thesis was divided into four chapters: (1) biological characteristics and thermal requirements of T. pretiosum in three species of Heliothinae; (2) the parasitism capacity of T. pretiosum in three Heliothinae species under different temperatures; (3) techniques for the release of T. pretiosum for the control of lepidopteran pests of soybean; (4) integrated pest-insect management in soybean crop with and without biological control. In the laboratory the potential of t... (Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Doutor
