Měnový kurz má v ekonomice několik důležitých rolí, o které země přijde, pokud vstoupí do měnové unie. Práce zkoumá dopad zavedení jednotné měny, konkrétně na příkladu České republiky a Hospodářské a měnové unie.

Len niekoľko rokov po založení EMU došlo k ďalšiemu významnému kroku v európskej integrácii ? rozšíreniu EU o najväčší počet krajín, kedy k 1. máju 2004 sa do Únie spolu s ďalšími deviatimi krajinami integrovala aj Slovenská republika. A práve zavedenie eura bude po vstupe do EU ďalším významných míľnikom v podmienkach Slovenska. Kedže menový kurz ako taký predstavuje dôležitú veličinu v ekonomickom dianí, úvodná časť práce je venovaná vymedzeniu základných pojmov a súvisiacich toeretických prístupov. Pokračuje priblížením vývoja výmenného kurzu slovenskej koruny od roku 1993 až po súčasnosť pomocou analýzy pohybu tak nominálneho ako reálneho kurzu. Ďalšie časti sústreďujú pozornosť predovšetkým na samotný proces prijatia jednotnej meny a jeho zabezpečenia zo strany štátnych inštitúcií. Samostatná časť je venovaná rozboru jednotlivých foriem konvergencie ekonomiky na čo naväzuje záverečná časť práce venovaná analýze procesu približovania sa s pohľadu SR.

V mé práci se zaměřím na dekompozici problematiky přistoupení České republiky do jednotného měnového systému. Cílem práce je ukázat a pojmenovat faktory, které mají rozhodující vliv na úspěšnou transformaci ekonomiky a její udržitelný růst a jsou tedy i klíčové pro rozhodnutí o vstupu země do jednotného měnového systému.

<p>This paper discusses whether the main argument for European countries to stay out of the euro, i.e. the loss in stability from not having a national monetary policy that can be used for stabilization purposes, is still valid ten years after the introduction of the single currency. We analyse the stabilization performances of four largely comparable Nordic countries that have all chosen different levels of European economic integration. In retrospect, the so-called “stabilization policy argument” seems surprisingly weak. However, recent years seem to have been largely free of important asymmetric shocks – despite the credit crisis. Thus it is probably still too early to make a final judgement about the argument.</p>

Denna undersökning ämnar utreda huruvida euroinförandet år 2002 medfört ökad internhandel i EMU. Undersökningen analyserar handelsstatistik från år 1998- 2008 för de femton länderna som vid euroinförandet var medlemmar i EU. I analysen studeras två grupper av länder; en innehållande EMU- länder och en kontrollgrupp innehållande länder som inte infört euron. För att kontrollera för underliggande faktorer som exempelvis konjunkturella förändringar och preexisterande handelsskillnader genomförs två difference- in- difference analyser. Undersökningen finner inget statistisk signifikant resultat på en ökad internhandel i EMU efter euroinförandet. Enligt resultatet orsakas de internhandelsökningar som kan urskiljas efter euroinförandet främst av konjunkturella förändringar.

In Meinungsumfragen äußern zwei Drittel der Polen ihre Angst vor einem Beitritt ihres Landes zur Eurozone. Die damit verbundenen Befürchtungen sind vielfältig und durch die europäische Wirtschaftskrise noch verstärkt worden. Allerdings hat sich Polen im EU-Beitrittsvertrag zur Mitgliedschaft in der Eurozone verpflichtet, sobald die entsprechenden Voraussetzungen vorliegen.
