A Study of the Relationships Among Principal Transformational Leadership, School Organization Change, and School Effectiveness for the Elemental and Junior Schools.

Lin, Wen-ping 29 July 2008 (has links)
The primary aim of the study was to investigate the relationships between principal transformational leadership, school organization change, and school effectiveness for the elemental and junior schools in Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan areas using questionnaire analysis. The samples of 600 teachers were chosen from 59 schools in Yunlin, Chiayi, and Tainan areas by stratified random sampling. There were 479 valid responses from the target teachers. Finally, the data was analyzed using the method of descriptive and inferential statistics, including mean and standard deviation, t-test, oneway ANOVA, Scheff¡¦s method, Pearson¡¦s product-moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. The main findings of this study are shown in the following: 1.The score of principal transformational leadership is above the average, of which the intellectual stimulation is relatively better. 2.The score of school organization change is up to the average, of which the revolution management method is relatively high. 3.The score of school effectiveness is at the high level, of which the cognition of community and parents is relatively better. 4.The male, old, senior, and administrative teachers and the teachers in the large schools and elemental schools have higher cognition of principal transformational leadership than the female, young, junior, and general teachers and those in the middle schools and junior schools, correspondingly. 5.The male, old, senior, and administrative teachers and the teachers in the middle schools and elemental schools have higher cognition of school organization change than the female, young, junior, and general teachers and those in the large schools and junior schools, correspondingly. 6.The old, senior, and administrative teachers and the teachers in the large schools, city schools, and elemental schools have higher cognition of school effectiveness than the young, junior, and general teachers and those in the small schools, country schools, and junior schools, correspondingly. 7.The higher the principal transformational leadership, the more the school organization change; the more the school organization change, the higher the school effectiveness. As a result, the higher principal transformational leadership results in the higher school effectiveness. 8.The principal transformational leadership and school organization change can apparently predict the school effectiveness, of which the change management method can best predict the school effectiveness.

A Study of Managerial Competencies Training Effectiveness of Supervisory Management.

Yang, Ya-Lan 13 July 2009 (has links)
Since global economy is getting worse for two years, the banking industry is much worse than any other industry especially. Human capital becomes the strength of companies for surviving. In addition, it is a challenge for companies to train and retain the talents depending upon limited resources and fund. However, it is a critical issue to evaluate whether training programs work and raise the organization performance. Therefore, we are going to discuss if the performance of supervisor is improved after the supervisors took the training programs of management competency. This research method is based on questionnaires. According to the result, trainees satisfied with the settlement of courses. Moreover, direct managers are satisfied with the improvement of performance of those supervisors who took the training courses. Within the dimensions, we found that the performance of communication improved the most. Supervisors play an intermediate role to facilitate the performance of corporations. The improvement of communication can help the performance of supervisors. Additionally, the ability of communication is an important trait for supervisors to get promoted. The research result follows the research hypothesis. The results show that the satisfaction of training course settlement has obvious positive influence on effectiveness of management competency. The Gamma is .33(P<.05). The results show that it is effective for companies raise management abilities of employees by spending time and money in training programs.

Cost-effectiveness Analysis between Percutaneous Radiofrequency Ablation and Ethanol Injection for Very Early Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Tsai, Yu-jou 12 August 2009 (has links)
Introduction: Most literatures researched radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for early hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) defined the early tumor size as 3cm or less. However, detection rate of HCC smaller than 2 cm became increasing since high risk patients had received regular screening and the imaging techniques has been much improved. Whether RFA or percutaneous ethanol injection (PEI) is better for a patient with such a small HCC is still controversial. Methods: We retrospectively obtained patients with single HCC 2 cm in diameter or smaller from the computerized medical records database in a local teaching hospital located at southern Taiwan, diagnosed during January 1, 2002 to April 30, 2008. Those patients received RFA (RFA group) or PEI (PEI group) as the first-line nonsurgical treatments were enrolled for further analysis. We compared baseline characteristics of RFA and PEI groups, including gender, age, possible risk factors of recurrence, and prognostic factors. Then, we analyzed recurrent rate, time to recurrence, survival rate, complication rate, mean cost of each treatment, and hospital stay of RFA and PEI groups. Results: There were 32 patients qualified for the study design, including 22 in PEI group¡G13 males and 9 females with mean age was 63.73 years; and 10 in RFA group¡G7 males and 3 females with mea age was 58.30 years¡CNo statistically significant differences between RFA and PEI groups were observed with respect to baseline characteristics. Nevertheless, there was significant difference between these two groups with respect to mean hospital stay (p=0.007) and mean cost (p¡Õ0.001): mean cost of PEI was NTD $16934.7; mean cost of RFA was NTD $51677.6, the difference was NTD $34732.9. There was no difference respect to complication rate, recurrent rate, time to recurrence and overall survival rate between RFA and PEI groups. Conclusion: For patients with single HCC 2 cm in diameter or smaller (i.e. very early HCC), we concluded that: if under similar basic background, the cost of RFA was much higher than that of PEI, but no difference in the complication rate, recurrent rate, time to recurrence and overall survival rate between these two treatment.

Leadership of Task Force: Application of Situational Model

Chang, Yi-chen 20 August 2009 (has links)
This study aims at exploring the applicability of ¡¥Situational Leadership Theory¡¦ Hersey & Blanchard, 1993) for leadership of task force between chief purser leadership style and readiness of cabin crew. The survey method was used in the present study. Three questionnaires were used: ¡¥Leader Effectiveness and Adaptability Description¡¦ (LEAD), ¡¥Readiness Scale¡¦, and ¡¥Performance Effectiveness Scale¡¦. Subjects were from public Eva and Uni airline. Valid sample included 40 chief purser and 123 cabin crew. The conclusions are as the following: 1. The readiness of cabin crew was affected by their work experience and job level; work experience, and school region; it was not correlated with age, gender and educational background. 2. Leadership effectiveness of cabin crew was significantly correlated with work experience¡Beducational background and job level ; It was not correlated with age, and gender. 3. Leader¡¦s leadership style there was significantly correlated with age¡Bgender and educational background; It was not correlated with work experience. 4. It was no significant difference found between leadership styles and leadership effectiveness of chief purser. 5. There was significantly correlation between cabin crew¡¦s job performance and readiness. 6. The relationship between chief purser leadership style and readiness of cabin crew had no significant impact on leadership style effectiveness beside notification style. So the findings did partly support ¡¥Situational Leadership Theory¡¦.
