A escrita desta dissertação foi agenciada privilegiando o encontro circunstancial entre campos teóricos distintos, na tentativa de articular a teoria e os conceitos à dimensão do acontecimento, da experiência. Para tanto, o trabalho apostou na aproximação ou na fusão entre arte e vida, em que proposições dadaístas e surrealistas foram contribuições significativas. As experiências da clínica, tratadas como ambientações, foram expostas em forma de narrativa, método que embasou esta pesquisa. Com inspiração em autores da psicanálise, da filosofia, das artes e da literatura, para este trabalho alguns autores tornaram-se pontos de apoio frequentes - Freud, Lacan, Guattari, Foucault, Benjamin e Lyotard, além de artistas e escritores. As questões propostas ou desenvolvidas nesta dissertação foram problematizadas a partir de uma perspectiva interdisciplinar, articulando conexões entre os ambientes clínicos e uma estética da existência. / The writing of this dissertation was based on the privilege of the circumstantial meeting among distinct theoretical fields in an attempt of articulation of theory and concepts, in view of the event and the experience. For this purpose, the task kept on the approach or the fusion between art and life in which the statements of dadaism and surrealism have made expressive contributions. The clinical experiences, considered settings, were exposed on narrative form that is the method on which this research was based. Inspired on authors from psychoanalysis, philosophy, arts, and literature, some of them have become constant supports for this research Freud, Lacan, Guattari, Foucault, Benjamin and Lyotard, besides artists and writers. The issues proposed or developed on this dissertation were problematized from an interdisciplinary perspective that surmises connections between the clinical environments and an aesthetics of existence.

Noção essa que, segundo Pierre Hadot, teria sido atraída por alguns aspectos de sua abordagem em relação a filosofia antiga como exercícios espirituais. A partir dessa nova perspectiva Foucault pensa o sujeito que constrói a si mesmo a partir de exercícios, práticas e técnicas de si. Consecutivamente, esta dissertação tem como objetivo analisar a “Cultura de Si” que é amplamente trabalhada e pesquisada por Foucault, em seus últimos trabalhos, e principalmente a partir da Hermenêutica do Sujeito, curso de 1982; além da História da Sexualidade II e III e outros textos correlatos de aspectos da ética antiga. Portanto partimos da análise da cultura de si feita por Foucault até as convergências e divergências criticamente empreendidas por Hadot. Para finalmente chegarmos, no capitulo III de nossa dissertação, para compreendermos como Foucault analisa a cultura de si após o curso de 1982. O que muda nos cursos posteriores. O que muda nos dois últimos volumes da História da sexualidade em relação à Hermenêutica do Sujeito. Também, a questão da atualidade da cultura de si e sua relação com as práticas sociais atuais para a possibilidade de uma estética da existência será objeto de investigação. Voltamo-nos então a questão de se haveria ou não em Foucault esta proposta de reatualização de uma ética antiga, buscando refletir sobre as maneiras em que seja possível entender, através do olhar que ele dirigiu a antiguidade, uma arte de viver. / Based on the recent works of Michel Foucault, we face a significant turning point in his philosophy, through the study of the Greek notion of care of the self. That notion, according to Pierre Hadot, would have been attracted by some aspects of his approach to ancient philosophy as spiritual exercises. From this new perspective Foucault thinks the subject who builds himself with exercises, practices and techniques of himself. Consequently, this dissertation aims to analyze “The Culture of the Self”, that is extensively worked and researched by Foucault, in his last works and mainly from The Hermeneutics of The Subject, a 1982 course; besides the History of Sexuality II and III, and other related texts to the aspects of old ethics. Thus, we start from the Foucault’s analysis of The Culture of the Self to the convergences and divergences critically undertaken by Hadot. Finally, we can arrive in chapter III of our dissertation, to understand how Foucault analyzes The Culture of the Self after the course of 1982. What changes in the later courses. What changes in the last two volumes of the History of Sexuality in relation to the Hermeneutics of the Subject. Also, the question of the actuality of The Culture of the Self and its relation to the current social practices for the possibility of an aesthetic of existence is another object of investigation. We then turn to the question of whether or not Foucault would propose to re-evaluate an ancient ethic, in order to reflect about the ways in which is possible to understand, through the look he has given to antiquity, an art of living.
