Em seis décadas de atividade, entre 1927 e 1987, Arnaldo Dante Momigliano (1908- 1987) publicou mais de setecentos artigos e resenhas, que formam o corpus de sua obra. Em função da opção de Momigliano por estudos de extensão limitada, apresentados na forma de artigos e conferências, sua obra possui um caráter disperso, o que torna difícil uma visualização clara de sua totalidade. Ainda que compilada nos volumes dos Contributi publicados ao longo da vida do historiador (e após sua morte), tal compilação se apresenta problemática. A presente pesquisa visa propor um mapeamento da obra de Momigliano e uma discussão e contextualização da mesma, centrada nos principais focos de sua produção, com ênfase nas questões da história da historiografia e da paz e liberdade no mundo antigo. / In six decades of activity, between 1927 and 1987, Arnaldo Dante Momigliano (1908- 1987) published more than seven hundred articles and reviews, which form the body of his work. Due to his option for studies of limited extension, presented in the form of articles and conferences, his work possesses a dispersed character, what makes a clear visualization of its totality difficult. Although compiled in the nine volumes of the Contributi published along the historian\'s life (and after his death), such compilation is problematic. The present research proposes to trace a map of Momiglianos work and a discussion and contextualization of this work, centered in the main focuses of his production, with emphasis in the subjects of the history of the historiography and the peace and liberty in the ancient world.

Nas décadas de 1960 e 1970, os estudos sobre a economia antiga foram transformados pela crítica sistemática do emprego de noções econômicas formais a sociedades que não formularam elas mesmas um conceito de economia. Os debates acadêmicos que então se travaram, nos termos dos próprios debatedores, tiveram em Moses Finley (1912-1986) um protagonista. A partir de uma análise das concepções de história econômica esposadas por Finley, dos mecanismos de validação de tais concepções e da trajetória desse historiador, esta tese procura iluminar algumas das condições sociais e epistemológicas que tornaram possível a reconfiguração das percepções acadêmicas modernas sobre a vida econômica antiga e estabelecer o papel por ele desempenhado nesse processo. / This thesis examines the role played by Moses I. Finley (1912-1986) in the academic controversies about ancient Greek and Roman economic history in the second half of the twentieth century. During the 1960s and 1970s, the studies on the ancient economy were transformed by systematic criticism of the use of formal economic notions in the analysis of societies which had not themselves forged a concept of economy. Among those who got involved in these debates, it is believed that Finley was its protagonist. Based on an analysis of the views on economic history held by Finley, of the mechanisms of validation of these views and of his trajectory, I try to elucidate some aspects of the social and epistemological conditions that made the reconfiguration of modern academic perception of ancient economic life possible.

Neste processo, várias bibliotecas particulares fruto do erudito e meticuloso trabalho de bibliófilos e colecionadores vieram a constituir, ao longo das décadas, o acervo da UnB. Homero Pires, Pedro Moura, Agrippino Grieco, Carlos Lacerda são alguns deles. Nenhum, entretanto, contribuiu mais à história da UnB como Eudoro de Sousa. Nosso objetivo aqui foi analisar o que resta de sua biblioteca, após uma série de dispersões, descaminhos e desastres que culminaram com o maior bibliocídio da história no ensino superior no Brasil. Sob inspiração da História do Livro e da Crítica Genética, oferecemos aqui uma pequena contribuição à história intelectual de Eudoro de Sousa e de sua lendária biblioteca, analisando alguns fragmentos dispersos e folhas soltas que resistiram ao triste fim que teve essa que já foi a mais importante biblioteca de estudos clássicos da América Latina. Livremente se desenvolve redes interpretativas para tais manuscritos de maneira a interligá-los com a obra publicada e com os livros lidos por Eudoro de Sousa. / Many intellectuals helped to build the University of Brasilia in the 1960’s. In this process, several private libraries fruit of scholarly and painstaking work of bibliophiles and collectors came to be, over the decades, the UnB collection. Homero Pires, Pedro Moura, Agrippino Grieco, Carlos Lacerda are some of them. None, however, contributed more to the UnB history then Eudoro de Sousa. The aim of this dissertation was to analyze his library, at least what has left of it, after a series of dispersions, misleading and disasters that leaded to the biggest bibliocide of the Brazilian higher education history. Inspired by the Genetic Criticism and the History of Books, this work offers a modest contribution to the intellectual history of Eudoro de Sousa and his legendary library. It is made through the analysis of scattered fragments and sheets found among his books. These documents, notes and papers resisted to the sad end that had the library which was the most important one in the field of classical studies in Latin American. Freelly, it is developed interpretative networks to understand the manuscripts and its relations with the published work of Eudoro de Sousa, as well as with his thoughts and, especially, with the way he used to read his books.

O Terceiro Humanismo de Werner Jaeger constitui um momento crucial na interpretação da Antiguidade, em especial no que diz respeito à sociedade grega clássica. Constituiu uma tentativa de recuperar um ideal humanístico através dos recursos da filologia clássica e das Altertumswissenschaften, conduzida na Alemanha nos anos do regime republicano de Weimar e também sob o nacional-socialismo. A partir de uma análise do desenvolvimento do projeto humanístico de Jaeger, do início da trajetória acadêmica do filólogo, logo antes da Primeira Guerra Mundial, até sua migração para os Estados Unidos, em 1936, a presente pesquisa procura lançar luz sobre as conjunturas políticas, sociais e intelectuais que condicionavam sua trajetória, conduzindo-o a uma tentativa de Gleichschaltung política com o nacional-socialismo no contexto dos primeiros meses do regime, e, em última análise, ao malogro de seu desígnio basilar colocar a serviço do presente forças educativas antigas, éticas e políticas. / Werner Jaeger\'s Third Humanism constituted a crucial moment in the interpretation of Antiquity, especially of classical Greek society. It was an attempt at recovering a humanistic ideal through the resources of classical philology and the Altertumswissenschaften, carried out in Germany in the years of the Weimar Republic and also under the National Socialist regime. By analyzing the development of Jaegers humanistic project, from the beginning of the philologists academic career, right before World War I, to his migration to the United States in 1936, the present research seeks to shed light upon the social, political and intellectual conditions that affected his trajectory, leading up to an attempt at political Gleichsschaltung with National Socialism during the first months of the regime, and ultimately to the failure of his primary goal to place ethical and political formative forces of Antiquity at the service of the present.
