Στην παρούσα εργασία θα ασχοληθούμε με την εξέταση των θεμελιωδών παραγόντων μιας επιχείρησης που επηρεάζουν την τιμή μιας μετοχής και με ποιο τρόπο αυτοί βρίσκονται στις διάφορες μεθόδους αποτίμησης των μετοχών. Κατόπιν, θα γίνει μια γενική περιγραφή των βασικών μοντέλων αποτίμησης μετοχών που αναφέρονται στην ελληνική και στην διεθνή βιβλιογραφία. Έπειτα, θα γίνει μια εμπειρική σύγκριση μεταξύ των μοντέλων αποτίμησης των μετοχών, έτσι ώστε να ανακαλύψουμε το επίπεδο βαρύτητας που έχει ο κάθε παράγοντας προς την τιμή της μετοχής. / -

A Study of Teacher Evaluation Methods Found in Select Virginia Secondary Public Schools Using the 4x4 Model of Block Scheduling

Positive transition from a traditional schedule to a block schedule involves not only much investigation and planning but also the successful acclimation of teachers to the necessary changes in how they deliver instruction. With this being said, the importance of teacher evaluation and professional development can not be understated. This study investigates the evolution of the teacher evaluation process and professional development after the adoption of a 4x4 model of block scheduling. Data were collected from 6 Virginia public schools by means of principal interviews, teacher interviews, and analysis of the individual school division's teacher evaluation methods and procedures. It was found that the 6 evaluation models shared similar components. The teachers and administrators believed that the models had not significantly changed since the adoption of block scheduling and, with some alterations by the administrators, did adequately evaluate teachers of 4x4 block scheduled schools. The most frequently offered suggestion for improvements to the block scheduled teacher evaluation process involved a larger narrative component. Considering both teacher and administrator comments, the researcher concluded that teacher developed portfolios would be a valuable part of the teacher evaluation process. / Ed. D.

Dans l’environnement financier d’après crise, le business model des hedge funds semble remis en cause. La crise a en effet révélé leur incapacité à générer du rendement absolu puisqu’ils sont corrélés aux marchés financiers. La prétention d’en être décorrélée ne tient pas en effet, au début de l’année 20l0, la performance des hedge funds était parallèle à celle des actions, qui ont enregistré une hausse fin 2009. Aujourd’hui la tendance est d’avantage à la stagnation, à l’instar des hedge funds. Ils ont eu des difficultés à se rétablir et à dégager des profils exceptionnels, indépendamment de la conjoncture financière. C’est pourquoi l’évaluation et l’analyse de la performance représentent des éléments de recherche qu’on examine à travers cette thèse. O objetivo principal deste estudo reside em propor a utilização do indicador EVA® valor econômico agregado, como forma de medir e comparar o desempenho econômico de unidades de uma rede de hotéis. O trabalho irá sugerir a implantação de um modelo de avaliação de desempenho de unidades hoteleiras, com base no indicador EVA® valor econômico agregado. Será utilizada a técnica de estudo de caso, aplicada a duas unidades da rede hoteleira, com o objetivo de desenvolver e verificar a eficácia do indicador EVA®. Como resultado, pretende-se possibilitar à empresa contar com um sistema de avaliação de desempenho que lhe ofereça uma melhor orientação para cada decisão a ser tomada. Towards A Formative Evaluation Tool

Evaluation is an integral part of instructional design. Formative evaluation, specifically, is a phase identified in many instructional design models and is recognized as an important step for program improvement and acceptance. Although evaluation has many models and approaches, very few deal specifically with formative evaluation. Further, no one set of guidelines has been found that provides a comprehensive set of procedures for planning and implementing a formative evaluation. Encapsulating such guidelines into a “tool” that automates the process was the author’s initial idea. The author’s intent in Chapter 2 was to find a model or checklist as a stepping off point for future formative evaluation tool development. In lieu of finding such a model, one was created (Chapter 3), pulling from several formative evaluation models and the author’s own experience. Chapter 3 also discusses the purpose behind developing a formative evaluation tool - to create an accessible, efficient, intuitive, and expedient way for instructional designers and developers to formatively evaluate their instruction or instructional materials. Chapter 4 focuses on the methodology selected to evaluate the tool, presented in prototype. Chapter 5 presents the results of the evaluation; comments received from the expert reviewers are presented and ideas for tool improvement are generated. Finally, the Appendices include the formative evaluation tool prototype as well as the documentation that accompanied the tool during its evaluation. The initial idea behind this developmental dissertation was the creation of a formative evaluation tool. The focus of the dissertation itself, however, was on the justification for such a tool, and the literature behind the making of the model and consequently the tool. The result of this developmental dissertation was the prototype of an evaluation tool that with improvements and modifications is deemed promising by the experts who reviewed it. Although designed with formative evaluation in mind, it was generally agreed that this tool could be utilized for both formative and summative evaluation. The expert review was successful not because the tool was without fault, but because the review truly achieved its purpose – to identify areas of strength, weakness, and to suggest improvements. / Ph. Several theories and methodologies have been developed to reduce the qualitative and perceptive effect on the evaluations, comprising a number of different techniques that aim to describe and decode the components of a complex system of meanings. Focusing these techniques this project assessed and compared three models to evaluate team performance. The first model based on team member personality states that team results are influenced by individual personality and the right components previous selection are critical factors for the team performance. The second model correlates team member relationship with the level of performance. The third model evaluates the interaction among the members but did not measure the level of performance. The models were evaluated based on a case study methodology developed on a chemical industry located in S. Paulo. Evaluation data were compared with the team goals results after completion. The results approached the models selected satisfactorily and confirmed the influence suggested by authors. The three models comparison results did not allow to select one model as the most effective to evaluate team performance. It is possible, however, to suggest that a practical and effective evaluation for team performance could be built based on the combination of the three models.(AU) / Avaliação de desempenho de equipes multifuncionais é um conceito que tem sido abordado mais freqüentemente nas últimas duas décadas. Diversas teorias e conceitos foram desenvolvidos para tornar as avaliações menos qualitativas ou fundamentadas em percepções, compreendendo um conjunto de diferentes técnicas interpretativas que visam descrever e decodificar os componentes de um sistema complexo de significados. Com esse foco o projeto comparou três modelos de avaliação de desempenho de equipes. O primeiro modelo baseado na personalidade do participante, afirma que os resultados das equipes são influenciados pela seleção prévia dos participantes e que as características individuais desses participantes são críticas para o desempenho da equipe. O segundo modelo fundamenta suas afirmações nas relações interconectadas de positividade e negatividade; questionamento e argumentação e atuação em equipe. O terceiro modelo baseado no processo de interação de grupos também avalia as relações que influenciam o alto desempenho de equipes multifuncionais. Os três modelos foram comparados, através de um estudo de caso único em indústria química paulista, medindo-se os resultados de correlação das equipes e as interações entre os participantes das equipes. As metas atingidas pelas equipes foram utilizadas para suportar os resultados das avaliações dos modelos como sistema de avaliação de equipes. Pode-se concluir que houve uma aproximação satisfatória confirmando a influência sugerida pelos modelos avaliados. A comparação entre os três modelos não permitiu afirmar qual dos três modelos é mais eficaz para avaliação de equipes. Entretanto, é possível, sugerir que a combinação de elementos dos três modelos permitirá a construção de um processo eficaz e prático de avaliação de equipes.(AU)

Vilka kriterier är användbara när en leverantör av tjänster skall utvärderas? Beror det på om leverantören levererar professionella tjänster eller varor? Hur utvärderas en professionell tjänst? Dessa frågor är några av problemen som inköpare ställs mot, litteraturen består av mängder med kriterier och modeller för inköp av produkter men är bristfällig när det handlar om tjänster. Litteratur säger att besparingar på inköp av tjänster varierar mellan 10 och 29 %, medan på varor kan det endast variera mellan 5 till 17 %. Vid inköp av tjänster finns potentialen till att spara pengar, men kvaliteten på tjänsten får ej påverkas. I många fall är det en avvägning mellan kvalitet och pris. Detta examensarbete belyser de kriterier som är användbara vid utvärdering av professionella tjänster, samt ett förslag på en modell hur dessa kriterier kan användas. Arbetet är genomfört som en fallstudie på ett IT-företag i Sverige, som köper in professionella tjänster och använder dem mot slutkund. De frågeställningar som har drivits under detta arbete är: Vilka kriterier behövs för att utvärdera en leverantör inom professionella tjänster?Hur bör utvärderingen av en leverantör genomföras när dessa kriterier tas i beaktande? Efter genomförd fallstudie har följande slutsatser dragits:Kriterier kan inordnas i tre olika kategorier beroende på vad de utvärderar; Leverantörskriterier utvärderar själva leverantören som sådan, Prestationskriterier utvärderar en leverantörs förmåga att leverera en tjänst och Produktkriterier som utvärderar själva tjänsten som sådan. På det hela taget kan sägas att kriterier som utvärderar de kvalitativa aspekterna av en leverans oftast är betydligt viktigare att utvärdera när professionella tjänster ska beaktas. Vidare har ofta professionella tjänster karaktären av att vara beroende av den strategiska passformen mellan leverantör, köpande företag, slutkund och kriterier som utvärderar dessa delar har därför prioriterats. Anledningen till detta är att värderealiseringen i professionella tjänster till stor del ligger i själva leveransen och interaktionen mellan dessa parter och kräver därför en hög grad av samverkan, kvalitet och service knuten till själva tjänsten. / What kind of criteria is useful for a company when evaluating their suppliers? Does it depend on if the supplier delivers services or products? How can one evaluate a professional service? These questions are just a few of the problems a buyer face today, the literature of today holds many criteria and models for buying products but has a lack of information when it comes to professional services. The estimated possibilities to save money when purchasing services vary between 10 to 29% but on products it vary only between 5 and 17%. There is a potential of saving money when purchasing services, but the quality of the service can not be affected. In many cases there is a trade-off between quality and price. This master thesis will illustrate the criteria that can be used when evaluating a professional service and a model where the criteria can be used. The thesis is written after a conducted case study on an IT-company in Sweden, which buy professional services and use them towards their end costumers. The questions at issue that have been driving the search for information by the authors are: Which criteria are needed to conduct an evaluation of a supplier in professional services? How should an evaluation of a supplier be conducted when keeping these criteria in mind? The case study led to the following conclusions:Criteria can be categorized in three different categories depending on what they evaluate; Supplier criteria regarding the supplier itself, Performance criteria regarding the performance of delivery and Product criteria regarding the service itself. Regarding the area of evaluation of professional service suppliers it can be said that the qualitative criteria seems to be dominating. Moreover, the professional services have the characteristics of being dependent upon the strategic fit between supplier, buyer and end customer. Criteria evaluating those aspects have therefore been prioritized in this study. The reason for this is that the value realization in professional services is in the delivery of service and in the interaction between the parties involved, therefore demanding a high degree of cooperation, quality and service bound to the service itself.
