Η παρούσα διπλωματική εργασία πραγματοποιήθηκε κατά το διάστημα 2012-2013 στο Εργαστήριο Συστημάτων Υπολογιστών (CSL) του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών. Στόχος της εργασίας είναι η επίλυση ενός συνόλου προβλημάτων χρονοπρογραμματισμού εξετάσεων (ETP, Carter Dataset), με χρήση πληροφορημένου γενετικού αλγορίθμου. Στην εργασία αυτή θα παρουσιαστούν, τα βασικά μοντέλα λειτουργίας των γενετικών αλγορίθμων, του ETP καθώς και παρουσίαση βασικών εννοιών των παράλληλων συστημάτων.
Τέλος παρουσιάζεται ο σειριακός κώδικας που υλοποιήθηκε σε ANSI-C και στην συνέχεια γίνεται σύγκριση με τον παράλληλο κώδικα που υλοποιήθηκε με MPI-C και παρουσιάζονται τα αποτελέσματα της σύγκρισης μεταξύ των δύο. / The Aim of this thesis which was completed during the 2012/2013 academic year at the Computer Systems Laboratory (CSL) at the University of Patras is to solve a set of Examination Timetabling Problems (Carter Dataset,ETP) with the aid of an informed genetic algorithm. I will present the basic model under which the genetic algorithms operate and some information about the ETP and general parallel systems. To conclude we will present our serial ANSI-C code and compare it with the parallel MPI-C code that we build and compare the two results.

Temos aktualumas. Pastaruoju metu vykdant Lietuvoje švietimo reformą, sprendžiant gana sudėtingas mokytojų profesinės kompetencijos tobulinimo problemas ir siekiant optimaliai padidinti šalies gyventojų švietimo kokybę bei ugdymo efektyvumą, itin svarbus vaidmuo tenka deramam profesiniam mokytojų pasiruošimui ir sistemingam jų profesinių žinių gilinimui. Pedagogų rengimo koncepcija akcentuoja esmines pedagogų rengimo tobulinimo gaires, atsižvelgiant į Bolonijos deklaraciją, Lisabonos strategijos nuostatas. Visa tai rodo ir pasirinktos temos aktualumą ir naujumą.
Tyrimo problemą sudaro tai, kad būsimieji pedagogai dar nepakankamai susipažinę su numatomais kvalifikacinio egzamino organizavimo ir paties egzamino turinio atnaujinimo. Tyrimo tikslas – ištirti ir įvertinti būsimųjų pedagogų požiūrį į numatomą kvalifikacinio egzamino organizavimą ir jo turinį. Tyrimo bazė – keturios aukštosios mokyklos: dvi universitetinės – Vilniaus pedagoginis universitetas ir Klaipėdos universitetas ir trys neuniversitetinės aukštosios mokyklos: Vilniaus, Panevėžio ir Utenos kolegijos.
Tyrimu nustatyta, kad kvalifikacinio egzamino organizavimo ir turinio problemos yra neatsiejamos viena nuo kitos. Būsimieji mokytojai, susidurdami su kvalifikacinio egzamino turinio problemomis, kartu susiduria ir su organizavimo klausimais. Dauguma būsimųjų pedagogų kvalifikacinio egzamino organizavimą (65,1 proc.) ir turinio tobulinimą (69 proc.) vertina kaip lygiavertes ir svarbias šiuolaikinės Lietuvos... Recently performing educational reform in Lithuania, solving complicated problems of perfection of teachers‘ professional competencies and seeking to increase optimally the education quality and effectiveness of education of country‘s residents especially important role fell on a befitting professional preparation of teachers and systematical deepening of their professional knowledge. Conception of pedagogues‘preparation emphasizes essential guidelines of perfection of teachers‘preparation considering Bolonija declaration and provisions of Lisbon strategies. New documents regulating education of Lithuania highlight the necessity to resume the development of possibilities for the preparation of pedagogues and perfection of their qualification.
The problem of the research. – The problem of the research is that future pedagogues are insufficiently introduced with a predictable organization of qualifying examination and the resumption of examination content. The aim of the research – to explore and evaluate the attitude of future pedagogues to the organization of qualifying examination and it‘s content. The basis of the research – five higher schools: two academic – Vilnius pedagogical and Klaipeda university and three non-academic higher schools of Vilnius, Panevezys and the college of Utena.

Consoling frustrated scholars: a copy of a parting gift by Wen ZhengmingLi, Zoe Pei-Yu 05 1900 (has links)
Farewell in the Garden is a Qing dynasty (1644-1911) copy of a parting gift painted by Wen Zhengming (1470-1559) for his student Wang Chong (1494-1533) to mark the occasion of Wang Chong’s visit before he left to write the civil service examination. In addition to this painting, three other versions bearing similar poetic inscriptions exist. These four paintings present an intriguing riddle and oppourtunity to consider copies as works worthy of scholarly attention. The compelling scene of farewell between teacher and student who both failed the examinations numerous times resonated with audiences who empathized with their disappointments. A longing to serve in the government is visible when these paintings are considered in relation to earlier literati art. The sketch-like traces of a ledge that is in all of the copies except Farewell in the Garden, hint to the visual possibility of this scene being situated on a shore. Wen Zhengming, through his subtle lines, alludes to this powerful site of parting which is frequently depicted in literati landscape painting and associated with scholar officials and men of merit.
This thesis situates Farewell in the Garden and its copies within the wider tradition of literati painting through the theme of service. Government service, as a Confucian ideal, and as a recurring theme in literati painting, transforms in appearance over time, reflecting political, economic, and philosophical shifts. In the Ming dynasty, the ideal of service is manifest and demonstrated in the continued pursuit to serve in office, and the garden, reminiscent of the locations depicted in literati painting, becomes a suitable setting for this enactment. I argue that this parting scene of Wen Zhengming and Wang Chong came to implicitly represent the commitment to serve in government. The cogent Confucian ideal demonstrated by teacher and student is the unyielding determination to serve, and it is this very sentiment or quality in the copies of the farewell painting – the tenacious endeavour to be of service – that is at once consoling and persuasive.

In this paper, we use the generalized estimating equation (GEE) method to study the generalized linear model (GLM) with compound symmetric correlation matrix for the NHANES data and investigate significant factors to ence the intake of food folic acid.

Clinical differentiation of mental disorders in the eldery : validation of the CAMDEXGatten, Shauna L. January 1993 (has links)
The present series of investigations examined the diagnostic accuracy of the Cognitive Examination (CAMCOG) from the Cambridge Mental Disorders of the Elderly Examination (CAMDEX) in the differential diagnosis of various dementing conditions. Specifically, this study examined: (a) the degree to which the CAMCOG would differentiate normal individuals from patients with Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and from those suffering from non-AD dementing conditions, (b) the extent to which the CAMCOG would distinguish between patients suffering from organic dementing conditions, those having functional psychiatric disorders, and normal persons, and (c) whether the CAMCOG would offer an improvement in diagnostic accuracy over a widely used screening instrument (i.e., the Mini-Mental Status Examination, MMSE) when attempting to differentially diagnose dementing patients and normal cohorts.A review of the literature was presented with an emphasis on the difficulties in establishing differential diagnosis, inaccuracies in diagnosis, the importance of improved diagnostic accuracy, and the use of neuropsychological measures in the assessment and diagnosis of patients suffering from dementing illnesses. Further, research relevant to ancillary diagnostic techniques, the various neuropsychologicalapproaches used in evaluating and diagnosing mental disorders in the elderly, and studies investigating the utility of specific cognitive/neuropsychological measures in the differential diagnosis of dementing diseases was presented.The results of these investigations revealed that the CAMCOG provides excellent diagnostic sensitivity and specificity when differentiating normal persons from clinically diagnosed AD patients and when distinguishing between individuals with an organic-dementing condition and normal adults. The CAMCOG was found to be less effective in differentiating AD and non-AD dementia patients and in distinguishing between patients suffering from organic dementia versus specified psychiatric disorders. Finally, the CAMCOG demonstrated a slight improvement in diagnostic accuracy over the Mini-Mental Status Examination. These results were discussed in terms of their support for the utility of the CAMCOG as an excellent screening measure when used to differentiate patients suffering from various dementia-producing disease states and normal persons. / Department of Educational Psychology

Tyrimo tikslas yra įvertinti lazerinės doplerografijos reikšmę nudegimo gylio diagnostikai ir įtaką gydymo metodo pasirinkimui.
Darbo uždaviniai:
1. Lazerinės doplerografijos metu ištirti skirtingo laipsnio nudegusių audinių perfuzijos greitį bei spalvinę išraišką.
2. Ištirti lazerinės doplerografijos reikšmę nustatant 2A ir 2B laipsnio nudegimų žaizdų savaiminio sugijimo galimybes.
3. Nustatyti ir palyginti nudegimų gylio klinikinio vertinimo ir lazerinės doplerografijos tyrimo tikslumą, jautrumą ir specifiškumą.
4. Nustatyti ir palyginti nudegimų klinikinio vertinimo ir lazerinės doplerografijos tyrimo įtaką nudegusių pacientų stacionarizavimo trukmei bei gydymo išlaidoms.
Darbo metodika: Perspektyvinis atsitiktinių imčių klinikinis tyrimas. Vertinta savaiminė nudegusių audinių epitelizacija ir operacinio gydymo poreikis. Prieš atsitiktinę atranką į grupes į klinikinį tyrimą įtrauktiems ligoniams buvo paimta biopsija iš nudegiminės žaizdos, siekiant nustatyti nudegimo gylį ir palyginti su klinikinio nudegimo vertinimu (KNV) bei lazerinės doplerografijos (LDG) tyrimu. Buvo vertintas KNV ir LDG tyrimų tikslumas, jautrumas ir specifiškumas. Po to ligoniai atsitiktinės atrankos būdu buvo suskirstyti į grupes pagal skirtingus nudegimo vertinimo metodus: KNV ir LDG. Suskirstymas į grupes buvo atliktas siekiant palyginti dviejų skirtingų nudegimo vertinimo metodų įtaką ligonių stacionarizavimo trukmei ir nudegimų gydymo kainai.

Objectives of the study:
1. To explore the perfusion velocity and color view of different de¬gree of burned wound during laser doppler imaging examination.
2. To explore the importance of laser doppler imaging to determine the sponteneous epithelization of 2A and 2B degree of burn wound.
3. To evaluate and compare the accuracy, sensitivity and specificity of clinical burn depth examination and laser doppler imaging.
4. To evaluate and compare the influence of clinical burn depth examination and laser doppler imaging to length of inpatient stay and the cost of treatment.
Materials and Methods: Prospective randomized study. The spontaneous burn wound epithelization and requirement to surgery was estimate. The burn tissue biopsy was made for burned patients before their randomization into groups. The aim of biopsy was to deter¬mine the depth of burn and to define the correlation with clinical burn depth examination (CBDE) and laser doppler imaging (LDI). The accu¬racy, sensitivity and specificity was determined between different examination methods. After this the burned patients were randomized into two groups: CBDE and LDI. The aim of randomization was to compare the length of inpatient stay and cost of treatment of two different burn depth examination methods.
