O primeiro capítulo identifica as concepções de ciência partilhadas por alguns físicos representativos da revolução da física do século XX, concepções estas que envolvem aspectos ontológicos e gnosiológicos. O segundo capítulo analisa alguns temas das novas teorias, na medida em que parecem ameaçar uma concepção materialista dialética da física, com a qual nos identificamos. Acreditamos ser a concepção materialista dialética a que mais dá conta das novas teorias e da realidade física que elas descrevem e explicam. Acreditamos também que nosso trabalho possa trazer alguma contribuição, direta ou indireta, para o ensino da física moderna / Summary: At first the text informs the reader about the crisis Physics has been facing in the 20th century, showing him that due to today's knowledge it is quite important to interpret the formalism roused by this science and mainly the fundamental characteristics in the philosophical field. The first chapter gives the conceptions of science shared by physicists who played important roles in the revolution of physics in the 20th century and which approach ontological and gnosiological features. The second chapter analyses some topics of the new theories seeing that they seem to threaten a dialetical materialistic conception of Physics with which we identify. We believe the dialetical materialistic conception offers a better understanding of the new theories and the physical reality they describe and explain.We also believe our study may bring some contribution to the teaching of modern Physics / Mestrado / Filosofia e História da Educação / Mestre em Educação
