Rafael Eduardo Santana de Sousa 25 March 2011 (has links)
In them, the research tries to find their singularity and deeply investigates the possible relationship among them and the Freudian concept denominated as unheimlich. Such relationships can be found in different objects, especially in the recurrent pieces in which the fragmented body is the constituent element, whether by the use of divinity sculptures, pieces of dolls or ex-votes. Matters as death, fantastic literature and Brazilian colonial period, each in its own way, fundamentally contribute to the development of this inquire

Artificiality in Mannerism: the Influence of Self-fashioning

Maye, Kira January 2007 (has links)
Thesis advisor: Stephanie Leone / Despite a surge of scholarly and public interest in the mid-twentieth century, Mannerism remains an ill-defined and problematic period label. The first goal of my thesis is to define the style in its chronology and stylistic attributes. Noting its artificiality and the influence of self-fashioning, I identify its clearest definition in Giorgio Vasari's writing and art. Second, I discuss the use of the sophisticated style by the artist and his patron, Cardinal Alessandro Farnese, as a means of social advancement and legitimization. Finally, I analyze the iconography and style of the Sala dei Cento Giorni in the Palazzo della Cancelleria, Rome as the collaborative apex of the self-fashioning of Vasari and Farnese. / Thesis (BA) — Boston College, 2007. / Submitted to: Boston College. TEMPO EM SUSPENSÃO: objeto reconvocado em Farnese de Andrade

BARRETO, R. F. P. 05 September 2008 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 tese_2945_12Texto.pdf: 936300 bytes, checksum: ccd5aab7109ca8afaecb706a94fca62b (MD5) Previous issue date: 2008-09-05 / A obra do artista brasileiro Farnese de Andrade (1926-1996) é ambígua e singular. Assemblage. Arte Contemporânea.

Bartholomeus Spranger v Itálii / Bartholomeus Sparanger in Italy

Telnarová, Veronika January 2019 (has links)
The thesis is focused on the Italian period of Bartholomeus Spranger's life, on his artistic development during that time and on the artworks that he created there. Italy of the second half of the 16th century became Spranger's home for ten years. As well as many other artists Spranger set out for a journey to get to know the greatest Italian masterpieces and primarily to gain new and valuable experience. The first opportunity to work waited for him in Parma, but without any doubt, the most important sojourn for him was Rome. Not only did he have the possibility to be inspired by all the masterpieces and masters themselves, but he also had the opportunity to work for the patrons such as cardinal Alessandro Farnese and the pope Pius V. To the imperial court in Vienna, and then Prague, he came as an experienced artist and the Italian sojourn certainly played major role in it. This topic has not been comprehensively complied in the Czech language so far.
