At the Juncture of the Old and the New, in: Early Science and Medicine 1997 (2/3), 272–299) schafften sie die Grundlage für die Vorstellung, dass die Seele ab Beginn des Lebens gegenwärtig ist – wenn auch ihre Zugehörigkeit zur lutheranischen (Sennert) bzw. katholischen (Feyens) Konfession zu unterschiedlichen Ausgestaltungen dieses Ansatzes führte: Traduzianismus und Kreationismus. / Daniel Sennert (1572-1637) and Thomas Feyens (1567-1631) – with others – influenced our today’s conception of the human soul. By determing the soul as “initial organizing principle” (Michael, Emily: Daniel Sennert on Matter and Form. At the Juncture of the Old and the New, in: Early Science and Medicine 1997 (2/3), 272–299) they provided the basis for the idea that the soul is present right from the start of life – even if their belonging to the lutheran (Sennert) respectively catholic (Feyens) confession led to different directions from this departure: Traducianism and Creationism.
