Význam málotřídních škol pro obce a jejich obyvatele / The Importance of Small Schools with Mixed-age Classrooms for Villages and their Inhabitants

DOLEŽALOVÁ, Aneta January 2018 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the importance of small schools for municipalities and their inhabitants. It focuses on the views and memories of individual residents who attended a small school in their village. The theoretical part of the thesis is divided into two main chapters, the first one deals with mixed-grade education and the other with a teacher in the classroom with mixed grades. The first chapter defines the concept of a small school, it also takes into account the history and distinguishes between the types of small-class schools. This chapter also discusses small-scale schools in the countryside, it examines the climate and environment in the small schools, and their advantages and disadvantages. Last but not least, it sees the small school as an alternative school, and also takes into account alternative schools with mixed grades structure abroad. The second chapter focuses on the teacher in the small school, his attitudes, values, personality, authority, as well as his professional knowledge and skills. The research part of the thesis was realized by semi-structured interviews. Qualitative research has shown that even though former pupils often remember at school in a good way, they do not always trust that system of teaching so much that they entrust their children to school unconditionally. The biggest surprise of the thesis was the finding that the memories of a particular small school are largely influenced by the memories of a particular teacher, his personality, behavior and manners, not the school itself. On the other hand, most of the respondents have had bad memories about their transition, it was stressful for most of them, they have been badly integrated into a new collective and a new environment, some of them have also encountered bullying. These facts discourage some people from putting their children in a small school.

Boll, Cíntia Inês January 2000 (has links)
This paper intents to tell a history, from the sixties on, of the facts which ocurred about public policies in Educative Informatics, in Brazil. It Presents the main projects in Educative Informatics in the country; discusses the present Natioal Program of Informatics in Education (PROINFO) and its implementation in the state of Rio Grande do Sul; and follows the insertion of this policy in the Pedagogical Practice at the Joao Goulart Municipal Scchool, in Pre School and First Grade, in the city of Novo Hamburgo. This is the first public school to be contemplated with this Program. It contributes to the strengthening of the idea that public policies in Educative Informatics, in Brazil, need to be contextualized in their processes of problems and the consolidation of a "listening time", in order that the "dodiscente" pratices can make it able the inclusion process, in terms of permanency and quality of the whole educative community. PAULO FREIRE's ideas strengthen this perspective by demonstrating the importance of the historical context; the cultural and social trajectory o each individual person, when being the builder of more critical, human and supportive ways of living.

Developing indicators of emotional school readiness of South African children and possible therapeutic use thereof

Fauconnier, Justine 12 September 2005 (has links)
The year 2002 saw the amendment of section 5(4) of the South African Schools Act no 84 of 1996. The amended Act now allows children of five years or younger to enter school. The entry of five year olds and younger into the school system left the researcher with the question: when is a child emotionally ready for school? The test and mediums currently used to determine school readiness do not place emphasis on the emotional aspects, although this plays an integral part in the child’s scholastic success. This scientific investigation was to determine the emotional development of children between the ages of four and seven years. The aim of this study was to determine which emotional aspects a child should have to be emotionally ready for school. These findings were discussed and information gathered through semi-structured interviews with grade 1 teachers. The teachers were a good source of practical and personal experience and observations on children who enter school. The information gathered from the literature study and interviews formed the basis for developing an emotional school readiness checklist and related programme that can be used to determine the emotional school readiness of a child entering grade 1. The emotional school readiness checklist and related programme that was designed was not in question, rather the aspects deemed necessary for a child to be emotionally ready for school and how therapy could be developed based on these aspects. Thus the inventory was not tested on a child, but was implemented in a case study to illustrate a therapeutic plan that could be designed based on the emotional school readiness checklist. / Dissertation (MA (Counselling Psychology))--University of Pretoria, 2006. / Psychology / unrestricted

Writing Creatively in First Grade

Raye, Susan Grant 01 January 1984 (has links)
Learning to write their own words increases students' success in learning to read, provides practice in thinking skills, increases their self-concept and provides early positive attitudes about writing. However, most writing done in first grade classrooms today consists mainly of copying from the blackboard. This is a tedious and boring task for first graders, and gives them bad attitudes about writing as they begin their school careers. Many teachers don't require young students to write their own words because of the students' inability to spell words and form grammatically correct sentences. However, if a teacher is accepting of the students' imperfect spelling and grammar, the students will feel free to express their thoughts on paper. This project provides a year long curriculum design along with the activities necessary to teach first grade students to write creatively.

Pojerová, Denisa January 2020 (has links)
This master's thesis deals with virtues of first grade primary school pupils. The theoretical part is focused on explanation of the term "virtues" and on description of individual areas in which the virtues can appear within education in first grade of primary school. The attention is paid to how the topic "virtues" is related to the goals and contents formulated in "RVP ZP" (General education programme for primary school education). In this part I also focus on introduction of context of ethics, where I concentrate on theories of Jean Piaget and Lawrence Kohlberg, and ethics education. Furthermore, there are programmes, projects and aids mentioned in this thesis, which deal with development of virtues, with education to values and with ethics education. The practical part of this thesis consists of active research. In the research are stated four lessons which deal with the way, this topic can be realised as a content of education and the way the pupils understand this topic. I also deal with virtues of respect and empathy in detail. These education units which develop the topics of virtues are suggested, verified and reflected. Keywords Virtues, ethics education, social and personal competence, personal-social education lessons, first grade of primary school, educational content
