Vliv malých vodních nádrží na výskyt extrémních odtokových epizod v povodí horní Otavy / Impact of small water reservoirs on the occurrence of extreme runoff episodes in the upper Otava River basin

The main objective of this thesis is to prove the influence of small water reservoirs on the extreme runoff situations in a watershed of upper Otava River. The system of small water reservoirs represents an effective part of flood protection, which can be realized without greater changes of landscape. The research part of this thesis includes a summary of knowledge about rainfall-runoff process, small water reservoirs and hydrological modeling. The work is applied to model watershed of Roklanský creek, which is situated in a central part of Šumava Mountains. There are a few rain gauges and laser sensors situated in this watershed, whose are needed for the modeling process. The thesis contains a selection of appropriate data and methods for a creation of digital model of terrain. This digital model of terrain is used for creation of most of the parameters, whose are used for modeling of rainfall- runoff process. This modeling is done in hydrological modeling program HEC - HMS (Hydrologic Engineering Center - Hydrologic Modeling System). HEC - HMS is one of the most used simulation programs. The main part of the thesis is a simulation of rainfall-runoff process, applied to two real rainfall-runoff episodes. Further, I focused on price estimation according to the oficial ordinance and evaluation of their added valuefor surrounding landscape and for the society.

Diploma Thesis deals with the studies of flood protection measures in locality of Brno - Žabovřesky. The work is mainly focused on the calculation of flood flows (Q1, Q5, Q20, Q100 a Q100 neovlivněný) in the area of interest and to proposal flood control measures. Simulation calculations are performed using a coupled 1D / 2D model of the flow of surface water in the bed of the river and its flood area. The results of hydraulic calculations were within the framework the work processed in the form of maps depths, velocity and inundation. Curves levels were indicated in the longitudinal profiles of watercourses.

Spatial planning in the flood area of the river Dědina Abstract The delimitation of new development areas in flood area of river is one of the steps leading to the increase of flood risk. The aim of this master thesis is to find out whether and for what reasons is the delimitation of new development areas happening in territories which are at risk of flooding. At the same time, the thesis also focuses on the role of the mayor, especially his competencies related to the management of flood risks, arising from his function. Theoretical part is based on discussion about the development of cooperation between society and natural environment and also concept of Flood Risk Management, especially in relation of the flood risk with the process of urban planning and also with the organization of public administration. The analysis of spatial plans of the 5 municipalities, or more precisely 14 local districts, located on the Dědina river in Hradec Králové region uses the borders of floodplain defined by T. G. Masaryk Water Reasearch Institute and spatial plans of analysed municipalities. The results correspond to created graphical outputs and following research of textual parts of the spatial plans. Water is an integral part of our life and waterways and areas were and still are an essential part of the public space of our cities and municipalities. We can find public space in every seat and we meet with the water on many of them. The water in public spaces appears in a different form. Whether these are minor elements, such as fountains, drinking water features, or larger water flows and water area. The water in the public space has its indispensable role. It is well known that its presence has a great impact on the well-being of man. Despite the fact that water is really important in the Interior of human settlements, over the years, water has disappeared on many places from public spaces, due to the technical development and development of settlements. The development of human settlements and public spaces takes place constantly from the time they were established. In recent years, the viewpoint of their importance is significantly changing and lot of the seats are aware of their value. The public space is like a living room of the city, thus a representative place. That´s why, the reconstructions of public space are quite often in recent years with use of water elements. The phenomenon of water surfaces is a factor which affecting the sustainable development and quality of life. Public space is not only an important functional element in the big cities. It has a great importance for smaller municipalities too. And just on them the thesis is focused. Their public space is often neglected. As well as water features in the surrounding area, which are uncared-for or extinct. Water in the form of water courses or water bodies have a great potential, in which a lot of possibilities is hidden, with which you can work in the urbanized areas. The goal of this thesis is to find a new role for the watercourses and water areas to be integrated into public space and public space, thanks to this, become a representative and functional part of the village once again.

The diploma thesis deals with the design of nature close to the flood protection of the city Prostějov at the confluence of the watercourses Romže and Hloučely and the flow Valova (Romže). In canculations there was solved capacity of individual sections and canculation of levels for one-year, five-year and twenty-year flow. For canculations there was used one-dimensional mathematical model HEC-RAS 5.0.3. Determination of roughness of bottom and slopes was based on personal visit. The result of this diploma thesis is evaluation of current state and proposal of a nature close to the flood protection in the individual streams in the city Prostějov. The thesis contains the calculation part and the drawing part documenting the proposed measure.

The Master‘s thesis deals with the assessment of the current state of flood protection in the rivers and floodplains of Svitava (km 0.000 - 2,050) and Svratka (km 26,370 - 33,963) in Brno. Using a combined 1D and 2D numerical model of water flow, hydraulic calculations of the peak flows of Q5, Q20 and Q100 were performed. For calculation, HEC-RAS 5.0.6 was used. The outputs were processed in the form of flood hazard maps and drawing documentation.

This thesis investigates the design of complex systems measures against water erosion in cadastral areas Bílov, Butovice, Studénka and Velké Albrechtice. By using erosion and hydrological GIS tools, the area was explored and analyzed and based on these output values the best solution was proposed. To identify areas at risk of erosion and runoff conditions were used a digital elevation model, Wischmeier-Smith equation and model DesQ. At the end was evaluated effectiveness by comparing the results before and after measures.

The territory was subjected to a risk analysis with a graphical representation of risk in the area and potential damage to the property was calculated. In continuity has been proposed appropriate flood protection measure to reduce damage. The economic effectiveness of the measures was carried out and other documentation required for the underlimit tender of the project was elaborated. In the conclusion of the diploma thesis there is another possible use of the diploma thesis.
