Previous issue date: 2004 / Resumo: Neste trabalho procurou-se apresentar um panorama da geração isolada de energia elétrica pelo Sistema CEAM, quanto às suas características técnicas e econômicas, e do mercado de conservação de pescado do interior do Estado do Amazonas, como bases para desenvolver um método que permita avaliações da introdução de cogeração nessas usinas, visando a produção de mo e gelo, como forma de elevação da lucratividade. Para tanto é mostrado que uma usina autônoma produzindo apenas energia elétrica no cenário interiorano amazonense não tem como ser lucrativa no cenário atual. Foi utilizado como ferramentas básicas elementos da teoria dos motores de combustão interna sob carga variável, teoria das máquinas de remgeração por absorção água-amônia e métodos termoeconômicos baseados na primeira e segunda lei da Termodinâmica. O quadro típico das usinas do interior é mostrado por dados coletados em visitas a cinco usinas, sendo duas delas de outros estados que não o Amazonas, mas que conservam características comuns com as usinas amazonenses. O mercado de pescado é discutido sobre dados bibliográficos. E, do cruzamento desses quadros, são inferidas características da interdependência entre remgeração industrial e energia elétrica / Abstract: This investigation shows a panorama of the isolated power generation of the Amazon State CEAM System regarding its technical and economic characteristics, as well as the problems of the refrigeration facilities of the tishing industry of inland the State, focusing to develop methods to evaluate the introduction of cogeneration in the generation system to the enhance its protitability. Meanwhile, it is shown that a autonomous power station can not expect to become protitable in the Amazonian nowadays scenario if it uniquely produces electric energy. To achieve this objective the main theoretical background were elements of the theory of internal combustion engines under variable charge, the theory of aquammonia absorption refiigeration devices, and methods belonging to thermoeconomics based on tirst law and second law of thermodynamics. A typical profile of the stations of the CEAM System is showed by collected data on tive autonomous power stations among the Northern Brazilian autonomous power grid. The tive power stations preserve common characteristics among them. The market of the tishing industry is showed by bibliography surveyed data. Artificial Intelligence Applications in the Diagnosis of Power Transformer Incipient FaultsWang, Zhenyuan 23 August 2000 (has links)
This dissertation is a systematic study of artificial intelligence (AI) applications for the diagnosis of power transformer incipient fault.
The AI techniques include artificial neural networks (ANN, or briefly neural networks - NN), expert systems, fuzzy systems and multivariate regression.
The fault diagnosis is based on dissolved gas-in-oil analysis (DGA). A literature review showed that the conventional fault diagnosis methods, i.e. the ratio methods (Rogers, Dornenburg and IEC) and the key gas method, have limitations such as the "no decision" problem. Various AI techniques may help solve the problems and present a better solution.
Based on the IEC 599 standard and industrial experiences, a knowledge-based inference engine for fault detection was developed. Using historical transformer failure data from an industrial partner, a multi-layer perceptron (MLP) modular neural network was identified as the best choice among several neural network architectures. Subsequently, the concept of a hybrid diagnosis was proposed and implemented, resulting in a combined neural network and expert system tool (the ANNEPS system) for power transformer incipient diagnosis. The abnormal condition screening process, as well as the principle and algorithms of combining the outputs of knowledge based and neural network based diagnosis, were proposed and implemented in the ANNEPS. Methods of fuzzy logic based transformer oil/paper insulation condition assessment, and estimation of oil sampling interval and maintenance recommendations, were also proposed and implemented.
Several methods of power transformer incipient fault location were investigated, and a 7Ã 21Ã 5 MLP network was identified as the best choice. Several methods for on-load tap changer (OLTC) coking diagnosis were also investigated, and a MLP based modular network was identified as the best choice. Logistic regression analysis was identified as a good auditor in neural network input pattern selection processes.
The above results can help developing better power transformer maintenance strategies, and serve as the basis of on-line DGA transformer monitors. / Ph. D.

Este estudo aborda a relaÃÃo entre os gases dissolvidos no Ãleo e a qualidade do Ãleo mineral isolante utilizado em transformadores de potÃncia. As redes neurais artificiais sÃo utilizadas na abordagem da avaliaÃÃo das condiÃÃes operacionais do Ãleo isolante em transformadores de potÃncia, que à caracterizada por um comportamento dinÃmico nÃo-linear. As condiÃÃes de operaÃÃo e a integridade do sistema de isolamento de um transformador de potÃncia podem ser inferidas atravÃs das anÃlises fÃsico-quÃmicas e cromatogrÃficas (AnÃlise de GÃs Dissolvido). Estes ensaios permitem estabelecer procedimentos de operaÃÃo e manutenÃÃo do equipamento e normalmente sÃo realizados simultaneamente. Esta tese de doutorado propÃe um mÃtodo que pode ser usado para extrair informaÃÃes cromatogrÃficas usando as anÃlises fÃsico-quÃmicas atravÃs de redes neurais artificiais. As anÃlises atuais das propriedades fÃsico-quÃmicas fornecem apenas diagnÃstico do estado do Ãleo, o que nÃo permite o diagnÃstico de falhas incipientes. Acredita-se que, as concessionÃrias de energia podem melhorar a confiabilidade na previsÃo de falhas incipientes a um custo menor com este mÃtodo, uma vez que apenas um ensaio à necessÃrio. O objetivo deste trabalho à a aplicaÃÃo direta do diagnÃstico de falhas incipientes atravÃs da utilizaÃÃo de propriedades fÃsico-quÃmicas, sem a necessidade de fazer uma cromatografia do Ãleo. / The diagnosis of incipient fault in power transformers immerses in oil are directly related to the assessment of the isolation system conditions. This search is about the relationship between dissolved gases and the quality of the insulating mineral oil used in power transformers. Artificial Neural Networks are used to approach operational conditions assessment issue of the insulating oil in power transformers, which is characterized by a nonlinear dynamic behavior. The operation conditions and integrity of a power transformer can be inferred by analysis of physicochemical and chromatographic (DGA â Dissolved Gas Analysis) profiles of the isolating oil. This tests allow establishing procedures for operating and maintaining the equipment and usually are performed simultaneously. This work proposes a method that can be used to extract chromatographic information using physicochemical analysis through Artificial Neural Networks. The present analysis of physicochemical properties only provide a diagnostic tool for the oil quality, which does not allow the diagnosis of incipient faults. ItÂs believed that, the power utilities could improve reliability in the prediction of incipient failures at a lower cost with this method, since only one test is required. The results show this strategy might be promising with an average accuracy for diagnosis of faults greater than 72%. The purpose of this work is the direct implementation of the diagnosis of incipient faults through the use of physicochemical properties without the need to make an oil chromatography.

The objec-tive of this work is to select the appropriate type of heating system out of three differ-ent heat sources – an automatic pellet boiler, a gas boiler and an oil boiler. The theo-retical part is focused on the history of the villa Stiassnia, functionalism itself and other functionalist monuments. In the project part, the design of a heating system using the chosen type of heat source, which is a pellet boiler, is described.

Air bearing radial turbo (also called centrifugal) compressors prevail in most mobile fuel cell air supply applications due to the small size and weight, the high efficiency and the oil- and maintenance free operation. An important aspect in mobile fuel cell applications is the vibration resistance of all system components, including the compressor, with vibration requirements up to 20 g in automotive applications.
This paper gives the background of the air bearing vibration characteristics, depicting the dependencies of vibration resistance on inlet conditions and operating points. The critical operating conditions concerning vibration resistance are identified, and it is outlined how vibration requirements can be included in the design process of an air bearing turbo compressor. A visualization of vibration resistance in the commonly used compressor map is presented, allowing the fuel cell system integrator to take qualified decisions for the mechanical integration of the compressor concerning vibrations.

two ways were chosen for the synthesis of porous structures from the molecular sieves of type Si-MCM-41. In the first way, the structure MCM-41 is precursory for heteroatom substitutes of silicon, generating catalyst of the type Al-MCM-41 from two different methods of incorporation of the metal. This variation of the incorporation method of Aluminum in the
structure of Si-MCM-41 was carried out through the conventional procedure, where the aluminum source was incorporated to the gel of synthesis, and the procedure post-synthesis, where the Aluminum source was incorporated in catalyst after the synthesis of Si-MCM-41. In the second way, the MCM-41 acts as a support for growth of nanocrystals of zeolite embedded in their mesoporous, resulting in hybrid MCM-41/ZSM-5 catalyst. A comparative
analysis was carried through characterizations by XRD, FTIR, measures of acidity through n-butylamine adsorption for TGA, SEM-XRF and N2 adsorption. Also crystalline aluminosilicate with zeolitic structure MFI of type ZSM-5 was synthesized without using organic templates. Methodologies to the preparation of these materials are related by literature
using conventionally reactants that supply oxides of necessary silicon and aluminum, as well as a template agent, and in some cases co-template. The search for new routes of preparation for the ZSM-5 aimed at, above all, the optimization of the same as for the time and the temperature of synthesis, and mainly the elimination of the use of organic templates, that are material of high cost and generally very toxic. The current study is based on the use of the H2O and Na+ cations playing the role of structural template and charge compensation in the structure.
