In einem Geopark könnt ihr Geotope entdecken. Das sind besondere Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Natur wie Felsen, Höhlen, Quellen oder Steinbrüche, die sehr selten sind oder nur an diesem einen Ort vorkommen. Forscher bezeichnen Geotope auch als Spiegel der Erdgeschichte. Sie zeigen uns heute noch, was vor vielen Millionen Jahren auf der Erde passierte, wie die Landschaft damals aussah, warum und wie sie sich veränderte. In unserem Geopark könnt ihr eine erdgeschichtliche Zeitreise zu riesigen Vulkanen, in die Zeit der Dinosaurier, in lange feucht-warme Klimaphasen und ins Eiszeitalter unternehmen. Unser Geopark heißt „Porphyrland. Steinreich in Sachsen“, weil hier ein ganz bestimmtes Gestein in vielen verschiedenen Arten vorkommt, der Porphyr.

Diploma thesis deals with the concept of geoparks, which rapidly expand worldwide as a tool for sustainable development. This paper is focused on the socio-economic and educational function of geoparks and their management. The concept of geoparks, geoturism, heritage and its interpretation is generally discused, complemented by findings from practical researches. These researches are used to create an overview of methods, which are used in sociogeographical researches of geoparks. In practical terms are used qualitative methods, which identify and evaluate the overall functioning of the National Geopark Ralsko and its socio-economic and educational impacts. The main actors in the area are identified by document analysis and direct field observation and the geopark's education and interpretation of the local heritage is evaluated hrough. The main part of the research is semi-structured interviews with the actors in the territory. Based on these interview is evaluated management of this geopark, understanding and attitude towards the geopark and the functioning of the whole area. Several barriers to the development of the region and the Geopark have been identified. These barriers are are discussed with the theory. The diploma thesis deals with the application of a new instrument for landscape protection and nature conservation which is the foundation of Geoparks, with a particular focus on the candidate Joachim Barrande Geopark. The aim of this paper is not only to assess the impacts of tourism on this area. Management of establishment of the geopark is discussed, too. The thesis emphasizes the current relations, cooperation and attitudes of the actors. Proposals to improve the efficiency of establishment of Geoparks are an integral part of the paper, too. It also critically appreciates the phenomenon of Geoparks, which is widely discussed in the concept of sustainable tourism. The thesis gives an overview of the legislative restrictions related to the protection of nature and implies the confrontation of the nature conservation interests with the interests of tourism. CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeiÃoamento de Pessoal de NÃvel Superior / The Geoparks around the world are geological and paleontological sites that represent a significant part of the natural heritage biodiversity history culture archeology and other elements of a region having the same active role in sustainable development and economic development of their territory. Policies for the preservation of historic and cultural heritage are located within a radius of action of Geopark Araripe associated with this promotion are being worked on historical cultural activities in the areas of education in communication and social development. The present research proposes the direction of Geopark Araripe implementing a geographic information system - GIS aimed at streamlining and improving the methods of analysis representation and presentation of diagnostic information and searched the area using as a reference for the development of this project geographical studies and their application through geo. The geo-technologies are essential not only in the execution of mapping and monitoring of geographical space but also in organizing and structuring information in a single geographical properly georeferenced digital database facilitating the execution of analysis manipulation and query of spatial data. They have been constituted a fundamental allowance for diffusion of geographical knowledge decision-making strategy and actions in various areas. The proposed deployment of GIS will provide the project Geopark an improvement in technical and scientific knowledge a process of interdisciplinary work that has been applied in various fields of science providing researchers and scholars to discover information. The geography is included in the group of sciences that has been providing various segments of society the ability to streamline and enhance the information found and dispersed geographic area, geographic analysis tools over the years has evolved considerably this development is associated with technological and scientific development that man has been providing. The need to build display and disseminate instruments that can provide a full development potential of a city region or state is a tool that will provide a social and economic development more effectively. Given the potential that this region has, this work sought to list the social actions performed by Geopark Araripe/CE, in the period from 2007 to 2012, to the community. In parallel, it was investigated the existence of geoproducts experiences and finally was prepared the SWOT matrix of Geopark Araripe/CE, in order to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the Geopark Araripe/CE as well as the threats and opportunities. The hypothesis of the study examined whether the actions taken by the Geopark Araripe/CE are collaborating for the development of geotourism in the region. The research was carried out in three stages. First it was done a bibliographic search and documentary on the characterization of Geopark Araripe/CE and the identification of actions aimed at educating the community. We then carried out a field visit to Geopark Araripe/CE. The collection of primary data was made by the method of focused interviews, together with managers Geopark Araripe / CE and the method of unsystematic observation in in August 2012. Finally the data obtained in the field visit associated with bibliographic and documentary sources were compiled and analyzed using the methodology of Integrated Chain of the Creative Economy for geoproducts and development of the SWOT Matrix of Geopark Araripe/CE. As a result, the study listed out a series of environmental education initiatives in the community, made by managers Geopark Araripe/CE. This confirms the fact that the philosophy of Geopark Araripe/CE is directed to geoconservation and social inclusion. Regarding the geoproducts it was conclude that there are projects to raise awareness of leadership, however, the Geopark Araripe/CE does not have a certification seal from geoproducts. In SWOT analysis of the Geopark Araripe/CE, it was found that the Geopark Araripe/CE has many strengths and opportunities that corroborate for its solidification as a tourist destination in the State and the development of geotourism in the region. However, to the contribution of the Geopark Araripe/CE in the development of geotourism be continuous, it is necessary that the public and private managers have knowledge about the planning, structuring and promoting geotourism within the Geopark Araripe/CE. This can be thought through the model deployment Integrated Chain of the Creative Economy. / O Geopark Araripe/CE à o Ãnico existente em toda AmÃrica Latina. Dado o potencial que essa regiÃo possui, o presente trabalho buscou elencar as aÃÃes sociais realizadas pelo Geopark Araripe/CE, no perÃodo de 2007 a 2012, junto à comunidade. Em paralelo, pesquisou-se a existÃncia de experiÃncias de geoprodutos e, por Ãltimo, elaborou-se a matriz SWOT do Geopark Araripe/CE, no sentido de aferir os pontos fortes e fracos do Geopark Araripe/CE bem como as ameaÃas e as oportunidades. Master thesis deals with the development of destination depending on the new infrastructure. New geological trail and monitoring equipment is designed to help with the development of visitor management. The main outcome of master thesis creates the demonstration of progress in creating a predictive social return on investment. A review of literature discusses about the geoparks, geotourism, the cooperation of local subjects and the social return on investment.

Naturschutz ist inzwischen tief in unserem Denken und Handeln angekommen. Aber noch immer wird dabei zu allererst an den Schutz von Tieren und Pflanzen gedacht, gefolgt vom Schutz des oberirdischen und unterirdischen Wassers. Das ist verständlich, hat doch diese Art des Naturschutzes lange zurückliegende Wurzeln.
