Discursos midiáticos e identidades corporais conflitantes: modelagem na revista Manequim

Vega, Ana Maria Riquelme January 2010 (has links)
This study it had as objective to analyze the speech of the magazine Dummy and the meanings propagated in its images. Feminine magazines, as other midiáticos supports of mass, stimulate and contribute in the dissemination of the cult to the lean body. For in such a way, 21 images of editions of the magazine had been selected Dummy of January the June of 2008. Through the support theoretician- methodology of the Critical Analysis of speech (ACD), as well as of visual grammar (GV) of Kress and Van Leeuwen, it was possible to detect that the images of bodies with fashion products create a speech the service of consumption products, when indicating “aesthetic beautiful” suits for the readers, used for celebrities and also available in the notebook of reading molds to construct its clothes to them. The bodies that are presented by the models that dress the suits considered present the lined up length form to the hegemonic standard of lean body, as well as the number of suits and its specific molds are in the great majority available in average sizes small e, characterizing the absence of models that if also incase in the format of oval body considered by the Dummy and the small number of proposals and molds of clothes for the great sizes / Submitted by Jovina Laurentino Raimundo (jovina.raimundo@unisul.br) on 2018-01-17T16:47:13Z No. of bitstreams: 1 102130_Ana.pdf: 3325355 bytes, checksum: 6ea06cc746466599d1963f8c2485accb (MD5) / Approved for entry into archive by Gheovana Figueiredo (gheovana.figueiredo@unisul.br) on 2018-01-17T17:19:00Z (GMT) No. of bitstreams: 1 102130_Ana.pdf: 3325355 bytes, checksum: 6ea06cc746466599d1963f8c2485accb (MD5) / Made available in DSpace on 2018-01-17T17:19:00Z (GMT).

Based on Michael Halliday s Systemic Functional Linguistics (1994), the Visual Grammar aims at systematising the image-reading process from a theoretical as well as practical point of view. Through its applicable feature, this work aims at increasing visibility of particular sociocultural elements produced by the authors of foreign language coursebooks. In order to achieve this goal, it will take into consideration the constitutive elements of images as well as the property of images in construing meanings.

Oliveira, Edinéia Aparecida Chaves de January 2013 (has links)
In this study, based on ACD and from metafunctions of language of Grammar of Visual Design by Kress and van Leeuwen (1996, 2001), I analyze multimodal commodification of women and men in forty funk 2012 CD covers. I hypothesized that men and women are asymmetrically commodified, so that (i) men are represented as subjects and women as objects in these promotional texts, and (ii) these differences are evidence of marked social representations for men and women in the funk movement. The findings suggest that funk promotion essentially commodifies images of people (38 covers). In these examples, men are represented as Masters of Ceremonies (MCs), Disk Jockeys (DJs) or singers in images that (i) highlight their professional and artistic protagonist role in dances, and (ii) present some of their objects of desire, including cars, jewelry and women. Women are represented as dancers, or sexily pose for the interactive male participant to invite him to enjoy of the music or even seduce him (fetish body). These results support the hypothesis that men are subject of the movement, and women are part of the list of theirs objects of desire and power. The images project a social representation of a male consumer who wants to have the same success of the protagonists and the same objects of desire, including women. This demarked division of social roles in the representations of funk CD covers, by hypothesis, must be a consequence of the larger context of the dances, the music and the movement itself. It is reasonable to assume, therefore, that these representations are clues of sexist positions that favor men over women in a larger culture structure that controls these practices and discourses. / Submitted by Rogele Pinheiro (rogele.pinheiro@unisul.br) on 2017-10-23T17:08:35Z No. of bitstreams: 1 107824_Edineia.pdf: 2511775 bytes, checksum: 0f2b393dd624a60e9ac1a64ad6c05c1c (MD5) / Approved for entry into archive by Fabiane dos Santos (fabiane.santos3@unisul.br) on 2017-10-23T17:25:18Z (GMT) No. of bitstreams: 1 107824_Edineia.pdf: 2511775 bytes, checksum: 0f2b393dd624a60e9ac1a64ad6c05c1c (MD5) / Made available in DSpace on 2017-10-23T17:25:18Z (GMT).

Made available in DSpace on 2016-03-22T17:26:15Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Inessa.pdf: 7727967 bytes, checksum: 8be91a24bd4d12decfcaef0562603610 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2009-04-17 / Foreign language teaching in public schools in Brazil needs deep changes for the learning-teaching process to be more effective. Usually, students leave school after studying the foreign language for four years without sufficient knowledge to communicate in the language. This indicates that something needs revising and updating. Communication Pedagogy can offer an important contribution for education today. The need for the outside world to enter the classroom, including the new technologies, is urgent. Through these technologies, textual patterns change, becoming smaller, and resorting to plenty of images. These new texts are not present in the vast majority of Brazilian public schools, which, in the case of foreign languages, prefer to use long texts, most of the time without images. Even when images are present they are used as illustrations only, not actively worked on. As a result of Communication Pedagogy, with an emphasis on Multimodality, we resort to a visual grammar perspective to explain the new textual patterns that circulate in our society. It is from this perspective that we designed a project asking groups of students from public schools in Pelotas, Southern Brazil, to produce multimodal texts. The students created booklets after reading Little Prince and watching the movie based on the book. These booklets were then analyzed in the light visual grammar, as proposed by Kress and van Leeuwen. Our initial hypothesis that students knew how to use multimodal structures in their productions, even if intuitively, was confirmed. Besides that, students also showed a high level of autonomy and motivation, consistent with their involvement in the tasks that were proposed / O ensino de línguas em escolas públicas no Brasil carece de mudanças profundas, a fim de que o processo de ensino-aprendizagem seja mais efetivo.
