Although alarming information, there are still few reports of this type of crime, which is permeated by secrets, shame and guilt. A victim of child sexual abuse often presents difficulties in discriminating the difference between what is a manifestation of affection and an abusive act thus can not act against these situations. To assist in this task, a strategy of prevention of child sexual abuse programs is the use of books Preventive Approach (LIAP), whose task autoprotetivas teach skills to children. In order to understand how this type of literature can help children to protect themselves from sexual abuse, three studies were conducted. The first is a systematic review of scientific literature on studies examining such LIAPs through pre-established criteria. The second study evaluated LIAPs Brazilian authors on child sexual abuse through criteria established by the literature in order to identify the potential within them to prevent child sexual abuse. The third is an empirical study and the central theme of the dissertation evaluated the effectiveness of storytelling as a means to acquire skills of self-protection against sexual abuse in children 2 years of elementary school and specifically, sought to check whether the reading of story of a book specially designed for the prevention of child sexual abuse, can promote substantially, acquiring skills of self-protection against child sexual abuse, compared to other children's book to prevent non-specific to child sexual abuse or a group that did not participate in any kind of reading. As a result, it was observed that children who participated in the interventions with the specific book about sexual abuse had higher overall performance compared to the performance of children from other groups. / O abuso sexual infantil, de acordo com a Organização Mundial da Saúde, tornou-se um caso de saúde pública, necessitando de intervenções nas diferentes esferas da sociedade. Apesar de ser uma informação alarmante, ainda há poucas notificações desse tipo de crime, que é permeado por segredos, vergonha e culpa. A criança vitima de abuso sexual frequentemente apresenta dificuldades em discriminar a diferença entre o que é uma manifestação de carinho e um ato abusivo, dessa forma, não consegue agir frente a essas situações. Para auxiliá-la nessa tarefa, uma estratégia dos programas de prevenção ao abuso sexual infantil é a utilização de Livros de Abordagem Preventiva (LIAP), que tem como tarefa, ensinar habilidades autoprotetivas para crianças. Com o intuito de compreender como esse tipo de literatura pode auxiliar crianças a se protegerem do abuso sexual infantil, foram realizados três estudos. O primeiro trata de uma revisão sistemática de literatura científica acerca de estudos que analisaram tais LIAPs por meio de critérios pré-estabelecidos. O segundo estudo avaliou LIAPs de autores brasileiros sobre abuso sexual infantil, por meio de critérios estabelecidos pela literatura, buscando identificar o potencial dos mesmos para a prevenção do abuso sexual infantil. O terceiro é um estudo empírico e o tema central da dissertação avaliou a eficácia da contação de história como meio para aquisição de habilidades de autoproteção contra o abuso sexual em crianças do 2º ano do Ensino Fundamental e de maneira específica , buscou verificar se a leitura da história de um livro especialmente elaborado para a prevenção do abuso sexual infantil , pode promover , de forma substancial , a aquisição de habilidades de autoproteção contra o abuso sexual infantil , em comparação a outro livro infantil de prevenção não específico à violência sexual infantil ou a um grupo que não participou de qualquer tipo de leitura. Como resultado, foi possível observar que as crianças que participaram das intervenções com o livro específico sobre abuso sexual obtiveram desempenho geral superior em comparação ao desempenho das crianças dos outros grupos.
