Esta dissertação tem como objetivo a comparação entre o desempenho de crianças com e sem dificuldades de leitura no Instrumento de Avaliação Neuropsicológica Breve Infantil NEUPSILIN-INF. O desempenho nas funções neuropsicológicas dos dois grupos, com dificuldades de leitura (n= 19) e leitoras competentes (n= 65), foi comparado através de ANCOVA, controlando-se idade, desempenhos no Raven e escala Conners. O grupo com dificuldades de leitura apresentou desempenhos significativamente inferiores em orientação, memória de trabalho (componentes fonológico e executivo central), linguagem oral (consciência fonológica) e escrita, habilidades aritméticas, habilidades viso-perceptivas e funções executivas (p< 0,05). Os achados corroboram a hipótese de déficit de processamento fonológico, sendo que este grupo apresenta, ainda, desempenho rebaixado em habilidades aritméticas e viso-construtivas e em funções executivas (tarefas de go/no go e de fluência verbal ortográfica). / The aim of this dissertation was to compare the performance of children with and without reading disabilities in the Instrumento de Avaliação Neuropsicológica Breve Infantil NEUPSILIN -INF. Performance on neuropsychological functions of the two groups with reading disabilities (n = 19) and skill readers (n = 65) was compared using ANCOVA, controlling for age, performance on the Raven’s Colored Progressive Matrices and Conners Scale. The clinical group had significantly lower performances in orientation, working memory (phonological loop and central executive components), oral language (phonological awareness) and literacy, arithmetic skills, visual-perceptual skills and executive functions (p <0.05). The findings support the hypothesis of phonological processing deficit, although the group with reading disabilities had low performance also in other skills as arithmetic and viso-constructive ability and executive function (go/no-go and verbal fluency tasks). The study suggests evidence of criterion validity of NEUPSILIN - INF.
