Reproducing and disseminating social representations of the backcountry people, their values and their identities, produces knowledge, senses and meanings, collaborating for the restructuring of social reality.The goal of this dissertation was to identify, through the analysis of cordel pamphlets, how it produces and represents the hero, his voice and his speech. Trying to achieve this goal, we selected a corpus of two cordel pamphlets, performing the due clipping to speech sequences which verse specifically on the subject of hero, always focusing on the repetition of heroic passages of the character chosen to illustrate this study: Lampião.To prepare the construction proposed it was used a pamphlet literature history through the centuries until its emergence in northeastern Brazil, in the first chapter.In the second chapter,sought to establish the importance of the character in narratives and understanding the recurrent features of hero presented in studies of the psychoanalyst Otto Rank, 2008, and the anthropologist Joseph Campbell, 1949 and 1990,chasing out clues that point to the northeastern hero marks present on pamphlet literature. In the third chapter,aimed to understand narratives about the hero, identifying recurring features in subjective cordel poets productions. Keywords: pamphlet literature; subjectivity; hero. / A Literatura de Cordel, produção narrativa poética, surge como expressão de comunicação social propiciadora de reunião de valores sócio-históricos e culturais. Reproduzindo e disseminando representações sociais do povo do sertão, seus valores e suas identidades, produzem saberes, sentidos e significados, colaborando para a reestruturação da realidade social. O objetivo desta dissertação consistiu em identificar, por meio da análise de folhetos de cordel, como se produz e se representa o herói, sua voz e seu discurso. Intentando alcançar esse objetivo, lançou-se mão de um corpus de dois folhetos de cordel, realizando o devido recorte das sequências do discurso que versam especificamente sobre o tema do herói, sempre enfocando a recorrência das passagens heroicas do personagem escolhido para ilustrar este estudo: Lampião. Para elaborar a construção proposta,realizou-se um histórico da literatura de cordel através dos séculos até seu surgimento no nordeste do Brasil. E depois, buscou-se estabelecer a importância da personagem nas narrativas e a compreensão das características recorrentes do herói apresentadas nos estudos do psicanalista Otto Rank, 2008 e do antropólogo Joseph Campbell, 1949 e 1990, perseguindo indícios que apontassem para as marcas do herói nordestino presentes na literatura de cordel. Em seguida, propôs-se compreender narrativas que versam sobre o herói, identificando características recorrentes nas produções subjetivas dos poetas de cordel.
