High-Level Test-Driven Learning Using Web Application and Web ServiceOh, Se Hun 14 May 2010 (has links)
In order to introduce learning cases with real-world contexts to the Computer Science students in their early stage of learning, a set of Web applications that utilize Web services are simplified and customized to demonstrate the core concept of high-level test-driven learning methodology. Four e-commerce Web applications were implemented for this project. These applications show how real-world Web services work and interact with each other. By systematically planting a number of errors into the services, we created a learning environment for the students to understand the system structure and basic programming through their critical thinking. A goal is to keep students' interest in computer science. In doing so, a set of features that help students observe the systems' behavior are designed, and collectively formed a pattern of user interface "the Learner's Corner."

Transportation system modeling using the High Level ArchitectureMelouk, Sharif 30 September 2004 (has links)
This dissertation investigates the High Level Architecture (HLA) as a possible distributed simulation framework for transportation systems. The HLA is an object-oriented approach to distributed simulations developed by the Department of Defense (DoD) to handle the issues of reuse and interoperability of simulations. The research objectives are as follows: (1) determine the feasibility of making existing traffic management simulation environments HLA compliant; (2) evaluate the usability of existing HLA support software in the transportation arena; (3) determine the usability of methods developed by the military to test for HLA compliance on traffic simulation models; and (4) examine the possibility of using the HLA to create Internet-based virtual environments for transportation research. These objectives were achieved in part via the development of a distributed simulation environment using the HLA. Two independent traffic simulation models (federates) comprised the environment (federation). A CORSIM federate models a freeway feeder road with an on-ramp while an Arena federate models a tollbooth exchange.

Automated Debugging Framework for High-level SynthesisLiu, Li 18 March 2013 (has links)
This thesis proposes a automated test case generation technique for the aim of verifying/debugging High-level synthesis (HLS) tools. The work in this thesis builds a framework that automatically generates random programs with user specified features. These programs are used to verify the correctness of the compiled hardware by comparing the hardware simulation results with the software execution results. This way, users can have a large number of benchmarks to test their algorithms for HLS without having to manually develop test programs. The tool also provides additional ways of analyzing performance of HLS tools.
Rather than being a replacement, this technique should serve as a useful complement to existing manually constructed test suites. Together, they can provide more comprehensive verification and analysis for HLS tools.

High Level Control for an Unmanned Aerial VehicleSöderman, Johan January 2011 (has links)
This thesis work was undertaken to develop a new high level command for an unmanned aerial vehicle. The command is assumed to make the UAV follow a reference position that is placed on a certain distance to an object. At the same time the UAV is assumed to move more smoothly than the reference position and the UAV is allowed to follow the reference position with margin. The problem was solved with an automatic control system that takes the reference position as input signal and has a fictitious position as output signal. The fictitious position moves smoothly inside the margin and irregular behavior of the reference position is smoothed out by the automatic control system. The fictitious position is affected by strong feedback outside the margin and weak feedback inside the margin. This makes the fictitious position to stay inside the margin and moves smoothly inside the margin. The UAV follows the fictitious position instead of the reference position. In this way the UAV holds a certain distance to an object and at the same time moves smoother than the object.

Software Design of A Task-level High Level Synthesis MethodJian, Jia-Dau 07 September 2004 (has links)
Along with the development of VLSI technology and the trend of system-on-chip design, traditional high-level synthesis can not deal with relatively complexity of system-on-chip design. In order to achieve optimal resource allocation, meet its performance and power requirements, and reduce its design time, we need a high-level synthesis software dealing system-level behavior. In consideration of system complexity, we have proposed a high-level synthesis method that synthesis for the task-level grains in a system behavior. This method performs efficient task-level resource allocation, task binding and task scheduling to reach a system design that meets the low performance and power requirements with low implementation cost. We utilize simulated annealing technique to achieve its overall system optimization. We designed and implemented the software design of the task-level high-level synthesis method. In this research, the design consists of three modules: the initial synthesis module, the heuristic movement module and the performance evaluation module. We will use the software to carry out the experiments of the task-level high-level synthesis method on application systems to verify its capability in designing systematic chips.

The Research of feasibility of High-level Manpower DispatchSung, Hsiao-li 20 August 2008 (has links)
ABSTRACT
The manpower dispatch development in US, Japan and European country, all become mature industrial stage, in Taiwan also gradually develops under this tidal current, and gradually becomes one of frequently strategies adopt by the enterprise human resources department for human flexible scheduling. The manpower dispatch not only may provide the enterprise human resource in response to peak time or obtains the support of special specialized talented person, simultaneously can outside of administration responsibility, exempt from related cost for the employment of permanent staff, lets the enterprise have the extra mental effort to concentrates in its core specialty, therefore the enterprise get much attention and use it, further enhance its development of the enormous potential.
The manpower dispatch already is one of 12 prioritizes service industries in "service industry development guiding principle and the course of action" by the Economic Construction Committee of Executive Yuan, according to the industry and commerce general survey that held by DGBAS (Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics) in 2001, there are approximately 790 manpower supplies industry, from the experiences of US, the manpower dispatch will be very important in the future duty field. According to the estimates of Economic Construction Committee, the average labor force are 9,900 thousand people in Taiwan, the dispatch laborer population might reach 300 thousand people in the future.
But recently, the type of knowledge worker change the manpower dispatch level (Yang Ch'aoan, 2004). Perhaps the dispatches worker's image impression of most people is still the image of low-end manual worker, the administration worker or the sanitation worker, but the nowadays enterprise's demand gradually transformed to technical role in specialist, high-level white-color worker as well as telecommunication ,marketing specialist.
At present in practice, some company runs the dispatch of tradition low level affairs or the labor work, some runs the recommendation or dispatch of the high step personnel (commonly knows as¡Ghead hunting) ,as for the high-level manpower dispatch that different from the dispatch of traditional dispatch and head hunting, in Europe/America and Japan had the explicit law definition and business volume, but in Taiwan is whether feasible? In the limit of not having enough literature for reference, this research attempts from the demand of enterprise, the supplies of high-level manpower, the barrier in practical and the economical scale of market, to analyze its feasibility, provides some reference for the dispatch industry.
This research discovered that¡G
(1) the high-level manpower dispatch truly has its demand in
Taiwan, and increases day by day.
(2) the supplies of the high-level manpower due to lack of protection of the law, presents recruits difficult and high turnover.
(3) the high-level manpower dispatches will match the expectation for both supply and demand sides (for example, the cognition of the employer, the trust, authorization and support to high-level dispatch manpower, and whether is willing to give reasonable service fee for which provides dispatch service) the challenge still many, was the key point of high-level manpower dispatch management.
(4) the business volume of high-level manpower dispatch at present in Taiwan is not enough, and is insufficient to support the dispatch industry to run this service only.
(5) the high-level manpower dispatch is feasible, and will be supposed to the mainstream of manpower dispatch market for the future.
Keyword: the manpower dispatch, the human resources, high-level manpower, dispatch demand enterprise
