This diploma thesis is aimed at the topic of unemployment, mainly at its psychological and social aspects. In the theoretical part basic terms are defined which are closely related to unemployment. These are primarily: the definition of unemployment, the development and the structure of unemployment, social and psychological consequences of unemployment, reference to employment policy and the description of the European Social Fund programmes. The practical part of my thesis includes the questionnaire survey among the unemployed registered at the Labour Office Znojmo. Moreover, it presents structured interviews with the employees of the Znojmo Penitentiary, Probation and Mediation service Znojmo and The Znojmo Shelter who are in contact with job seekers affected by any of the social impacts of unemployment.

The thesis deals with the profession of a military nurse. We can assert that the official study of military, non-medical health-care related qualifications and its use in practice not only for military purposes dates back to the fifties of the last century. However, women as health care professionals, consequently in uniforms, have always been an actual issue. The development of health care activities always existed, however, we must not neglect influence of scientific and medical findings. The historical timeline of development of medical care in the battle field was recorded and ranges from pre-historical healing. The way of Christian medicine was negatively influenced by the Catholic Church. The dark period of the Middle Ages had actually wrested medical performance from the hands of specialists and the suffering were left to the "tender" mercies of the priests. The following part of the thesis concerns modern medicine where enlightenment reforms were exercised. Some of the original six-month courses for military surgeons were organised in this period of time; they weretransformed into Military Surgical Academy, out of which the famous Josefinum originated. A expression of humanity which supported a form of health care of war veterans was demonstrated by constructing buildings for invalid people. The second half of the nineteenth century is characterized by the phenomenon of the presence of nuns in military hospitals. This study goes further in depth of professionally organized healthcare right in the battle field, which dates back from the era of wars in the Crimea.This stage describes the transformation of caring into nursing which requires the necessity of specialized preparation of persons providing nursing practice. In addition, Henry Dunant engraved himself into the history of the profession of a nurse, as the founder of the Red Cross, who first trained health care professionals for working within armed intentions of the state. The continuation of this action sketches out the process of providing first aid in principal armed conflicts of the twentieth century. It describes the functioning of commander operated military health service of that time. WWI drove Czech medical staff to both sides of the front where they provided medical help to the injured. Nurses of the WWII already performed their duties in uniforms as the rightful members of the army. The thesis also mentions post-war usage of military health care professionals in secret foreign missions and their specialized erudition.Last but not least, it marginally discusses contemporary possibilities of modern health care service of the Army of the Czech Republic. The goal of the endeavours of writing this thesis was to chart out clearly the development of the profession of a military nurse within the historical context, focusing mainly on women coming from Czech regions. In order to make the history background concerning specific female participants of the world war conflicts understandable to the reader, this paper reports, in broader extension, peculiar medical and nursing findings, already from the era of prehistoric civilisations. The history study method were applied for the purpose of the theoretical thesis. The methodology is based on searching, studying, sorting and the consecutive systematic objective describing of the events from the past times with the intention to propose comprehensive report on the subject given. It was necessary to study inexhaustible amount of sources to obtain awareness of historical connections. Factual information was derived by analysing of primary and mainly secondary documents. The thesis sketches out histories of military health care and the profession of a military health care professional stemmed from the exploration of appropriate written sources and conclusion of the basic findings. The intentions of the work are not only to clarify the past but also to contribute to solutions of every-day issues.

The graduation thesis discusses the history of cycling Peace race since year 1968 to the present. The main purpose is to analyze the particular year of the race, which is held every year in the month of May. The thesis is divided into five main chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to the brief outline of cycling history in the world and the history of stage cycling races in Europe. The second part describes a brief outline of socio economic conditions in the countries of central and eastern Europe since 1968 to the present. The third chapter deals with a brief overview of the Peace Race since his inception in 1948. The following and also the main chapter is focused on the detailed description of the history of each year since 1968, the description of their stages, the individual tracks and the results of the races. The last chapter is devoted to a brief overview of the stage races, also known as the Race of Peace, which goes up to the present.

This diploma thesis deals with comparison of architectural development of rural municipalities in the selected regions of the Czech Republic. Assessment, which facts in history had an influence for origin buildings in a South Bohemia, but at two different regions, where subject of research was at Soběslavsko-veselská blata and Hlubocko-zbudovská blata. Also it was necessary to emphasize how exceptional and momentous importance has rural municipalities in a history of architecture, which can influence rural development in a future.

The diploma thesis on the theme "Clothing as a report" is divided into two parts, namely theoretical and practical. he aim of the work is to analyze what clothes are meant for man and what importance people attribute to him. It focuses on the emergence and importance of fashion and subculture. For the most part, he deals with punk subculture. In the practical part will be created a set of photographs, responding to the theme of the diploma thesis.

The graduation thesis is focused on the history of basketball in the Czech Lands from 1945 to the present. The present, in this thesis, is set as the year of 2000. This year has been selected because of the thesis range and the information availability on the internet. The main purpose is to analyse the specific official international competitions, in which the Czechoslovaks and the Czechs were participated. The next purpose is to analyse the main basketball league for men and women in the Czechoslovakia and in the Czech Republic. The whole thesis is divided into six main chapters. In every chapter is described a brief outline of socio economic conditions for years, on which is the chapter focused on. In every part of the thesis are also described international events. The major focused is on the events, that our representation had a great result. The other subject, which can be found in every chapter, is home main basketball competition for men and for women. Every part of the work is completed with photographs, pictures and charts, that have connection with the specific period.

Im Mittelpunkt der Arbeit stehen folgende Romane des Schriftstellers Daniel Kehlmann (1975): Beerholms Vorstellung (1997), Mahlers Zeit (1999) und Die Vermessung der Welt (2005). Diese werden in Hinsicht auf die Wissenschaft als Fremdreferenz untersucht, die z.T. thematisch, aber auch ganz besonders strukturell Einfluss auf die Gestaltung der Romane nimmt. Diese Bezugnahme macht, zusammen mit der literarischen Selbstreferenz, etwa in Hinblick auf die von Kehlmann selbst immer wieder zitierten Anregungen durch eine Reihe international bekannter Autoren, die Eigenart seiner Texte aus. In Beerholms Vorstellung dreht sich die Erzählung um die Porosität von Wirklichkeit, in Mahlers Zeit geht es um die Thermodynamik als ein Mittel zur Erforschung der Zeit und Die Vermessung der Welt konfrontiert die investigativ-empirische Methode eines Alexander von Humboldt mit den abstrahierend mathematischen Hypothesen von Carl Friedrich Gauss. Die Wissenschaft als Fremdreferenz und die reflektierte Einbeziehung der literarische Tradition als selbstreferentielle Kommunikation bilden in den Romanen Kehlamnns ein untrennbares Ganzes. Es geht daher in dieser Arbeit nicht in erster Linie um die wissenschaftlichen Daten oder Theorien in den genannten Romanen, sondern darum, aufzuzeigen, wie sich Selbstreferenz und Fremdreferenz in einer wechselseitigen und unteilbaren Spannung gegenseitig bedingen und entwickeln. / O foco desta dissertação é analisar os seguintes romances do escritor Daniel Kehlmann (1975): Beerholms Vorstellung (Espetáculo de Beerholm), de 1997, Mahlers Zeit (Tempo de Mahler), de 1999, e Die Vermessung der Welt (A medida do mundo), de 2005. Tais obras são examinadas sob a perspectiva da ciência como referência externa, que, parcialmente condizente com essa temática, também define de modo especial a influência estrutural da configuração artística desses textos. Em consonância com a autorreferência literária, e a respeito do próprio trabalho de Kehlmann, essa referencialidade valoriza a singularidade de seus textos, mencionados repetidas vezes como sugestões de leitura por uma lista internacional de renomados autores. Em Beerholms Vorstellung, a narrativa gira em torno da especulação da porosidade do real, em Mahlers Zeit, da termodinâmica como meio de investigar o tempo, e, em Die Vermessung der Welt, confronta-se o método empírico e investigativo de Alexander von Humboldt com as hipóteses matemáticas de Carl Friedrich Gauss. Assim, a ciência enquanto referencialidade exterior e a ponderada implicação da tradição literária como comunicação autorreferenciada formam um todo indissociável. Não se trata, portanto, de detectar, em primeiro lugar, dados ou informações científicas nos romances citados, mas de apresentar como se estabelecem e se sobressaem mutuamente, numa tensão recíproca e indivisível, a autorreferência e a referência externa.

The submitted work deals with the historical development of german Passion plays in Hořice na Šumavě (district of Český Krumlov) since their origination in 1816, over their temporary decline in 1936. The concept of this work leans on the defended bachelor's thesis Mysterium Hoericense Transformation of the place of memory in the 19th and 20th century. The main exploring attention is paid to the origin of Passion plays in Hořice about life and death of Jesus Christ, to the course of the plays, significant actors and visitors of the plays. Apart from the german written sources, the autor also used local literature published by Sudeten Germans as well as oral history techniques.

Mgr. Pavlína Chaloupská, abstrakt disertační práce Abstract: The thesis analyzes activities of the most important German Alpine clubs operating in the Czech Lands and interwar Czechoslovakia since their establishment until 1938. The history of alpine clubs is explained, and the organization of DuÖAV (Deutscher und Österreichischer Alpenverein, German and Austrian Alpine Association) is analysed, on the basis of general and specific introductory information related to the alpinism in the late 19th century. The thesis is divided according to geographical location of the constituent sections. For each section of DuÖAV, the circumstances of its establishment are monitored, the sphere of its activity is defined, the internal organization is described, and the economic functioning is analyzed. The activities of Alpine clubs in Bohemia and Alps are charted in detail, and based on the research it was discovered that the most important activity of the Alpine clubs was the construction of the Alpine huts, owned by German clubs from Bohemia. Among other activities there were organization of guiding and rescue operations, giving lectures, balls and excursions in their locality. Two chapters are devoted to the most important personalities of the German alpinism in the Czech lands: Johann Stüdl and Rudolf Kauschka.

Identity between Memory and Narrative: A Sociological Analysis Abstract of PhD thesis Mgr. Jakub Mlynář Department of Sociology, Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague 2016 Concepts of identity, memory and narrative are being sociologically employed, whether separately or in combination, but most often in relationship to specific research areas. The aim of my thesis is an explanation of mutual relationship of identity, memory and narrative as well as their meanings in social action. I am taking into account the controversial features of these phenomena, which have been recently discussed, and I offer a compromise theoretical solution. Mutual relationship of identity, memory and narrative are followed in detailed case-study, analysing a selection of oral history interviews from USC Shoah Foundation's Visual History Archive, with an inspiration from narrative analysis and membership categorization analysis. The oral history interview is a social situation, in which the general interactional mechanisms related to memory, identity and narrative stand out in focused shape. Narrative expression of identities in life stories of Holocaust survivors is mainly related to the categories of national, state, political and religious identity, reflected explicitly and implicitly during the interviews.
