The traveler in his History of a Voyage made to the Land of Brazil, otherwise called America presents a human gaze of the Other that, moreover, it also presents itself as an opportunity to understand the same. The reasons that build this perspective is analyzed in this work, from concept heterology proposed by Michel de Certeau. Our thesis states that this hermeneutics of the Other in Jean de Léry is determined by the system of Calvinist theological thought. The circularity of hermeneutics French traveler is subject to Scripture, her part, she returns. The heterology proposed by Jean de Léry constitutes a science Other built from the Calvinist theological system of thought. / A inauguração de um olhar humano do índio tupinambá, eis o que encontramos em Jean de Léry (1534-1611), um teólogo e missionário huguenote que aporta em terras brasileiras no século XVI com o propósito de auxiliar na implantação de uma colônia francesa e de pregar o evangelho, tanto aos franceses que aqui estavam, quanto aos índios tupinambás. O viajante em sua obra História de uma Viagem feita à Terra do Brasil, também chamada América apresenta um olhar humano do Outro que, além disto, também se apresenta como uma possibilidade de compreensão do mesmo. Os motivos que constroem esta perspectiva é o que analisamos neste trabalho, a partir do conceito de heterologia proposto por Michel de Certeau. Nossa tese afirma que esta hermenêutica do Outro em Jean de Léry é determinada pelo sistema de pensamento teológico calvinista. A circularidade hermenêutica do viajante francês está condicionada a Escritura Sagrada, dela parte, a ela retorna. A heterologia proposta por Jean de Léry se constitui em uma ciência do Outro construída a partir do sistema de pensamento teológico calvinista.

En 1685, l’édit de Nantes est révoqué. La législation royale et les dragonnades contraignent les protestants à abjurer. Si certains acceptent la conversion au catholicisme, d’autres choisissent l’illégalité, à savoir l’exil vers les Pays du Grand Refuge ou la pratique clandestine de leur religion. L’édit de Fontainebleau est enregistré par le conseil souverain de Tournai, cour érigée en parlement en 1686. Les représentants de la justice du roi sont chargés de faire respecter lesdispositions de l’édit dans une province nouvellement conquise qui possède sa propre histoire religieuse et dont la situation frontalière favorise l’exil.L’objet de cette étude est d’analyser l’application de la Révocation dans les provinces de Flandre et du Hainaut-Cambrésis et ses conséquences sur les protestants locaux. Les magistrats et les intendants, influencés ou non par les particularismes de ces provinces, ont-ils favorisé l‘exécution rigoureuse de la législation ou au contraire ont-ils préféré la clémence? L’exil massif des protestants,surtout d’autres provinces françaises, et la crainte d’une détérioration de l’économie du royaume rendent en effet difficile l’application stricte de la législation. / In 1685, the Edict of Nantes is revoked. Royal legislation and “dragonnades” compel the Protestants to abjure. If some accept conversion to Catholicism, others choose illegality, more precisely emigration to the protestants Countries or clandestine practice of their religion. The edict of Fontainebleau is enacted by the sovereign council of Tournai, a court erected in parliament in 1686. The representatives of the king's justice are responsible for enforcing the provisions in a newly conquered border province which has its own religious history and favors, due toits situation, exile abroad.The purpose of this study is to analyse the application of the Revocation in the provinces of Flanders and Hainaut-Cambrésis and its consequences on local Protestants. Did the juges and the intendants, influenced or not by the specific characteristics of these provinces, favor the enforcementof legislation, or, on the contrary, were they rather lenient? The massive exile of Protestants of other French provinces and the fear of a deterioration of the Kingdom's economy made it difficult to enforce the legislation strictly.

Brasil pelo missionário Robert Kalley a partir de 1855. Desenvolvemos objetivos
analíticos e conceituais construindo uma análise bibliográfica e documental da vida e
obra de Robert Kalley e do Kalleyanismo de um modo geral, trilhando um caminho
metodológico que busca fazer uma leitura desta identidade através da análise das táticas
e astúcias que têm caracterizado o protestantismo no Brasil, particularmente na cidade
do Rio de Janeiro, entre os anos de 1855 e 1876, fomentando problematizações para
estes processos identitários, e acerca das práticas de consumo nos espaços protestantes,
responsáveis também pela elaboração de novas identidades religiosas. Um documento
que emergiu no século XIX e teve grande importância como rastro identitário na
elaboração desta dissertação foi a "Breve Exposição das Doutrinas Fundamentais do
Cristianismo". É um documento rico de possibilidades interpretativas, favorecendo a
leitura de valores que podem nos dar a ler os valores que contribuíram para a construção
da identidade protestante kalleyana naquele período. Importantes conceitos foram
trazidos para este diálogo como o de leitura, apropriação e representação a partir de
teóricos da historia cultural. Buscou-se problematizar as identidades representadas.
Dirigiu-se o olhar para as contribuições culturais e educacionais que Kalley trouxe para
o Brasil, especialmente através da Escola Bíblica, uma estratégia de mostrar a literatura
da salvação mediante o saber bíblico escolar. / The work problematize the emergence of Protestant identity built by Kalley from 1855.
We develop conceptual and analytical objectives constructing a bibliographic and
documentary analysis of the life and work of Robert Kalley and Kalleyanismo in
General, treading a path that seeks to capture this methodological identity through the
analysis of tactics, gimmicks that have characterised the Protestantism in Brazil,
particularly in the city of Rio de Janeiro, between the years 1855 and 1876 by
problematizing for these processes in terms of identity, and about consumer practices in
Protestant áreas, responsible for the preparation of new religious identities.
A document that emerged in the 19th century had great importance as a trail of identity
in the making of this dissertation was "Brief exposure of the fundamental doctrines of
Christianity". It is a rich document of interpretative possibilities of writings that can
give us the read values that have contributed to the building of Protestant identity
Kalleyana in that period. Important concepts were brought to this dialog as the reading,
ownership and representation submitted by theorists of cultural history. Sought
problematizing the impersonated identities. Drove my look at educational and cultural
contributions that brought to the Brazil Kalley, especially through the Bible School, a
strategy to show the literature of salvation through Biblical knowledge.
