Undervisning av svensk språkhistoria på gymnasiet : Intervjuer med gymnasielärare, samt elevenkäter

Ivarsson, Maria January 2007 (has links)
Abstract This thesis explores how secondary schoolteachers in Swedish, prioritise from the Swedish language history materials. The study includes interviews with two Swedish teachers and inquiries with students in two classes at the social science programme (third year). The student literature that is used has been analysed and the teaching is compared with the Swedish central teaching plan. The results show that the students are weak in placing language at different historical time periods and make conclusions of this. The results from both the inquiries and teaching contents disclose a general weakness as it comes to Swedish language history. The interviews points at the standardizing attitude towards the subject, from the teachers influence the size and the depth of teaching the students get in Swedish language history.

Jokūbo Brodovskio žodyno leksikografinis metodas / The Lexicographical Method of the Dictionary of Jacob Brodowski / Die lexikographische Metode des Wörterbuchs von Jacob Brodowski

Plaušinaitytė, Lina 27 May 2010 (has links)
Disertacijoje „Jokūbo Brodovskio žodyno leksikografinis metodas“ tiriamas rankraštinis vokiečių–lietuvių kalbų žodynas Lexicon Germanico=Lithvanicvm et Lithvanico=Germanicvm (prieš 1744, toliau – B). Nors išlikęs nepilnas, šis žodynas laikomas didžiausiu XVIII a. vokiečių–lietuvių kalbų leksikografijos darbu. Although the manuscript has survived till the present day incomplete, it is considered to be the largest German-Lithuanian dictionary throughout the 18th century. The aim of the thesis is to examine and describe the lexicographical method of Brodovskis’ dictionary which is understood as the whole of means and techniques of selection of linguistic material as well as its presentation in the dictionary. The lexicographical method also covers an analysis of sources of the dictionary. The thesis starts with an introduction, two overviews on the history of the survival of the manuscript and on some special circumstances of author‘s life. The fourth and fifth parts analyse the macrostructure and microstructure of the dictionary. They present a detailed description of the dictionary contents, show its unique characteristics and thoroughly analyse lexicographical information and its presentation forms in B. The sixth part of the thesis focuses on dictionary sources. The most important lexicographical sources of B are discussed in three separate sections: a revised edition of Konrad Agricola‘s concordance to the Bible Concordantiae Bibliorum, emendatae ac ferè novae […] (1674), the German-Latin dictionary Clavis Linguae Latinae by Johann Jacob Dentzler (the... French influences in Russia, 1780s to 1820s : the origins of permanent cultural transfer

Coker, Adam Nathaniel January 2015 (has links)
This dissertation defines aspects of Russian culture which bear the marks of French influence and explores the historical origins of that influence. While it is generally acknowledged that Russia’s culture has been influenced by France, no systematic history of the origins of this influence has been written. Previous research has dealt only superficially with the topic, focusing almost exclusively on the Francophile preferences of society’s elite. The present study examines Russian society more broadly and explores those elements of French cultural influence still relevant today through an historical analysis of the Russian language. French loanwords found in dictionaries from the time of Peter the Great to the present are analyzed chronologically and topically, yielding the conclusion that the most significant period of long-lasting French influence was the turn of the nineteenth century and was primarily cultural in nature—including the areas of fashion, cuisine, the arts, interior design and etiquette—but was also in areas related to technology and official administration. Following this lexical analysis, other primary sources—archival documents, military memoirs, and periodical publications from the resultant period—are searched for influences in these areas, especially during the period’s two major Franco-Russian events: the wave of immigration to Russia following the French Revolution and Russia’s war with Napoleon. The former facilitated deep cultural enrichment as native Frenchmen and French women, engaged in various occupations, acted as cultural mentors to the Russian nobility. The latter facilitated broad cultural immersion as tens of thousands of Russian troops—noble and common alike—marched into France and experienced French culture firsthand. This dissertation concludes that both of these explosive events, though by no means the beginning of French influence, were unique in the depth and permanence of their mark upon Russia’s culture.

Manipulation Of History And Language In Three Dystopias

Ersoy, Duygu 01 October 2006 (has links) (PDF)
In this study, the manipulations of history and language in the dystopias of &ldquo / Nineteen Eighty-Four&rdquo / by George Orwell, &ldquo / We&rdquo / by Yevgeni Zamyatin and &ldquo / Brave New World&rdquo / by Aldous Huxley are examined. The principal aim of this investigation is to demonstrate that in these imaginary societies absolute stability is achieved through the manipulations of these two domains. The thesis argues that if the domains of history and language are not taken under control, they are to provide the subjects with the standard of comparisons which would enable them to realize that they are in fact dominated. However, once these domains are manipulated, they are transformed into the means of the dystopian rulers for mentally impoverishing people in a way that they would not be capable of conceiving the flaws within the system and therefore, would not attempt to challenge the order or require a change. In this sense, it is proposed that the subjects of these closed societies, who are formed as a result of the reshaping of history and language, would lack the mental capabilities to identify their subjection and behave automatically in the manner that is imposed on them by the political order. Moreover, in this study, the relationship of the genre dystopia with political theory is explored / it is indicated that dystopias are not only literary works, but rather they are also texts of social criticism containing certain warnings about the future course of events. Relying on this argument, it is claimed that such an invasion of the minds by the control over history and language in our three dystopias is the exaggerated version of the ideological relationships of the individuals to these two realms in the contemporary societies. Thus, having in mind that in the dystopias examined here the manipulations of history and language are the preconditions of the use of other realms (such as religion, sexuality and science), it is concluded that these texts enable modern individuals to see that in order to maintain a critical distance with the established political and social order, the multiplicity of linguistic resources and knowledge of history are very crucial.

Eliášková, Klára January 2020 (has links)
Historical Development of Czech Language Teaching for Pupils with Visual Impairment Klára Eliášková Czech Language Department Doc. PhDr. Martina Šmejkalová, Ph.D. Abstract The dissertation aims at the language education of pupils with visual impairment (VI) at high schools. Historical forming of Czech language didactics of teaching pupils with VI is analyzed in the framework of the cultural and social context of the period from 1807, when the first Institute for blinds was found in Prague at Hradčany, to a social and political milestone in 1989 with main view on the period dating from 1946 to present. Based on the suggestion from the report, attention will be paid to the present. There will be an identification of breakthroughs and positive locations (e.g. diversification of Czech language teaching in relation to individual types of VI), which would be useful in restoring our teaching practice, taking into account the current imperative of induced education. Historical research focuses on specific aspects of language education without a possibility of visual information. Methodological approaches common in linguistic and social pedagogical fields of study are combined in this purpose. The aim is to link both levels into the consistent perspective on the surveyed issue. Working out of the historical...

LA LINGUA DELLA RASSETTATURA DEL DECAMERON DI LIONARDO SALVIATI / The language of Lionardo Salviati's 'rassettatura' of Boccaccio's Decameron

MAINO, PAOLO MARIA GILBERTO 13 February 2013 (has links)
Salviati’s rassettatura of the Decameron has been often considered by many critics only a censorship which thoroughly ‘kills’ Boccaccio and his masterpiece. What is nevertheless evident in this research is that Salviati wants, even if he was bound to a brutal censorship, to restore the true version of the Decameron both from the philological point of view and from the linguistic one. In particular Salviati wants to regain the supremacy on Italian language for Florence after Bembo and his Prose della volgar lingua (1525). The research is the result of a systematic and complete collation between Salviati’s Decameron and the sources which Salviati used: Borghini’s rassettatura, Mannelli codex, the first printed edition (the so called Deo Gratias), and the florentine edition of the 1527. From this collation and from the phonetic, morphologal and syntactical analysis of all the variants and in particular of Salviati’s choices it comes out Salviati’s true will which is twofold: first of all he wants to restore the language of the 14th century (the Mannelli codex), a perfect and sweet language, then he also wants to underline the supremacy of modern Florentines, true and only heirs of Dante, Petrarch and Boccaccio’s language and culture.
