Desde el siglo pasado el movimiento artístico queer ha dado lugar a diferentes manifestaciones artísticas, dentro de ellas la música queer ha ocupado un lugar importante y el songwriting ha sido una de las maneras en que lxs artistas se han acercado a esta. La escritura y composición de canciones entrega una forma de canalizar emociones, de vivir con las experiencias afrontadas día a día por las diversas identidades disidentes. Sin embargo, cuando la música cruza los límites de lo personal y adquiere un público, lx artista comienza a ser responsable de aquello que el contenido de sus canciones pueda generar y cómo esto afectará no sólo a su público, sino, en general, al movimiento al que pertenece. Con la creciente escena queer limeña en continuo desarrollo, resulta importante comenzar a trabajar las responsabilidades éticas de lxs artistas, para poder seguir generando y promoviendo espacios seguros donde las disidencias puedan compartir y crear. Por lo tanto, este trabajo busca determinar cómo lxs artistas queer, dentro del contexto artístico queer limeño, toman responsabilidad dentro de su proceso de songwriting, busca analizar y explicar cómo plasman las variables éticas respecto al cuestionamiento, la representación, el activismo y la conexión dentro de su proceso de composición y escritura de canciones. / Since the last century, the queer art movement has given rise to different artistic manifestations, within queer music has occupied an important place and songwriting has been one of the ways in which artists have approached it. The writing and composition of songs provides a way of channeling emotions, of living with the experiences faced day by day by the diverse dissident identities. However, when music crosses the limits of personal space and acquires an audience, the artist begins to be responsible for what the content of their songs can generate and how this will affect not only their audience, but, in general, the movement they belong to. With the growing Lima queer scene in continuous development, it is important to start working on the ethical responsibilities of artists, in order to continue generating and promoting safe spaces where dissidents can share and create. Therefore, this work seeks to determine how queer artists, within the queer artistic context of Lima, take responsibility within their songwriting process, it seeks to analyze and explain how they reflect the ethical variables regarding questioning, representation, activism and connection within their songwriting process.

Esta investigación aborda el tema de la representación de la comunidad queer en la escena teatral limeña durante los últimos diez años. A partir de la creciente cantidad de propuestas artísticas que buscan representar a la comunidad LGBTIQ+, en la actualidad, ha surgido un debate sobre la práctica de representar a grupos vulnerables sin ser parte de estos. ¿Acaso los grupos representados lo están siendo realmente? ¿Estamos dándoles una voz en la sociedad a estos grupos o los estamos silenciando sin ser conscientes de ello? Este es el debate que propone esta investigación para poder pensar en buenas prácticas en el rubro artístico. Es así que se buscará demostrar que el suprimir al cuerpo queer de su representación en la escena teatral limeña en los últimos diez años, influye en el silenciamiento de este grupo subalterno. Para esto, se indagará en las dinámicas de dominación a partir de los conceptos “hegemonía”, “subalterno” y “silenciamiento”. Además, se definirá el concepto de cuerpo queer y se describirá la situación de este en Lima. Esto, para exponer las implicancias políticas al momento de ser representado en el teatro. Para finalizar, se comentará el caso de la obra “El arcoíris en las manos” para complementar la teoría. / This research addresses the issue of the representation of the queer community in the Lima theater scene during the last ten years. From the growing number of artistic proposals that seek to represent the LGBTIQ + community, at present, a debate has arisen about the practice of representing vulnerable groups without being part of them. Are we giving these groups a voice in society or are we silencing them without being aware of it? This is the debate that this research proposes in order to think about good practices in the artistic field. This research will seek to demonstrate that the suppression of the queer body from its representation in the Lima theater scene in the last ten years, influences the silencing of this subaltern group. For this, the dynamics of domination will be investigated from the concepts "hegemony", "subaltern" and "silencing". In addition, the concept of the queer body will be defined and its situation in Lima will be described. This, to expose the political implications at the time of being represented in the theater. Finally, the case of the work "El arcoiris en las manos" will be discussed to complement the theory.

Se entiende a las drags queens como hombres caracterizados en base a la figura femenina para la realización de performances en un espacio y momento establecido. En Lima Metropolitana, existen apropiaciones simbólicas de elementos extranjeros y peruanos que las drags queens han utilizado para su dragqueenismo: vestimentas, expresiones, baile y vocabulario. Esto ha dado lugar a que algunos actores puedan ser reconocidos y visibilizados en medios de comunicación masivos; mientras que otros artistas, solo pueden ser reconocidos en espacios cerrados como museos, bares de “ambiente” y otros que impiden su visibilidad en el espacio público. Se reconoce que la performance de las drags queens se ha desplazado y es visibilizada por más público; sin embargo, aún se observan obstáculos en el desarrollo y entendimiento de arte que desafía la norma: censura y violencia. Ante este contexto, se desarrolla una intervención gráfica efímera de un espacio público llamado Glam que busca presentar el arte de las drags queens junto a dos aspectos fundamentales para entender el quid y la importancia de este medio artístico: símbolo de libertad de expresión y disciplina artística. Con ello, el proyecto busca divulgar, junto a una gráfica inspirada en la estética glamurosa de las drags queens, sobre el movimiento drag limeño y visibilizar la performance de los artistas locales. / Drag queens are defined as men who are characterized based on the Western woman figure to perform in an established space and time. In the Lima Metropolitan Area, dragqueenismo has been built with the appropriation of specific symbols of foreign and Peruvian elements that drag queens have used: clothing, expressions, dance, and vocabulary. This action has given rise to some actors being recognized and visible in the mass media and even by the conservative spheres of Lima; however, other artists can only be recognized in closed spaces such as museums, queer bars, and other places that prevent their visibility in the mass public spectrum. There is a displacement of the performance of drag queens from closed places to public ones; however, acts of censure or violence block the opportunity to understand this art. Given this context, the project Glam develops a brief graphic intervention of public space to present the art of drag queens that presents two fundamental aspects to understand the reason and the importance of this artistic medium: symbol of freedom of expression and artistic discipline. This project seeks to divulge and make visible the Lima drag movement along with a graphic inspired by the glamorous aesthetics of drag queens.

Existen cuerpas e identidades que han sido históricamente percibidas como “errores” por no encajar en un estándar binario y heteronormativo. La “naturaleza” como concepto social ha sido utilizada para catalogar a las personas. Ella es empleada como excusa para segregar, rechazar y castigar a aquelles que no encajan en un estándar hegemónico que sacraliza los roles reproductivos y el binarismo de género. Esta tesis se basa en una exploración teórica y artística que utiliza el glitch como herramienta de creación y elemento de reflexión para cuestionar el concepto de la “naturaleza”. El objetivo de este proyecto es la reapropiación y la reinterpretar del concepto del “error” y reflexionar sobre las implicancias detrás de esta categorización cuando es empleada para calificar a une individuo. Este proyecto busca visibilizar a la comunidad queer y condenar la opresión sistemática a la que ella se ve sujeta / There are bodies and gender identities that have historically been perceived as "errors" because they do not comply with a binary and heteronormative system of categorization. The sociocultural interpretation of the concept of “nature” has been used to classify people. It is used as an excuse to segregate, reject, and punish those who do not fit into a hegemonic standard that sacralizes reproductive roles and gender binaryism. This thesis is a theoretical and artistic investigation that uses the concept of “glitch” as a tool for creation and as a starting point for critical reflection. The objective of this project is to propose the reappropriation and reinterpretation of the concept of "error" and to reflect on the implications of categorizing an individual using this term. This project seeks to make the queer community visible and to condemn the systematic oppression to which it is subjected

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo indagar sobre la producción artística reciente en el Perú alrededor de la diversidad sexual, en específico sobre su capacidad de transgredir los sistemas de representación social, entendidos como los sistemas que instalan en el sentido común de la sociedad una “verdad” generalmente a partir de supuestos esencialistas como los estereotipos, los cuales, particularmente sitúan a la diversidad sexual en la marginalización y en el no reconocimiento de sus derechos; a través del análisis de imágenes de las propuestas estéticas y de los discursos de artistas de formación, artistas autodidacticas, activistas, etc. Con este fin, la investigación se realizó con un enfoque cualitativo y se diseñaron entrevistas semiestructuradas para explorar abiertamente el problema de investigación. Asimismo, se realizó un análisis de las imágenes como discurso que complementaron los hallazgos. Los resultados se dividen en tres dimensiones: 1) arte, activismos y diversidad sexual en el Perú, 2) revuelta a la representación social desde el arte: experiencias en el contexto peruano y 3) la práctica artística colectiva, comunitaria e interdisciplinaria: nuevos horizontes creativos. En estas, se reflejan que las practicas activistas y artísticas alrededor de la diversidad sexual se encuentran en un proceso de cambio, en principio, por el agotamiento de las formas convencionales en las que opera el activismo, y por otro, por las lógicas del mercado neoliberal que se apropian de las luchas por el reconocimiento de las identidades, esto en el marco de una creciente estetización, venta y consumo de modelos de vida. Donde, las producciones culturales alrededor de la diversidad sexual tienen como principal preocupación transgredir los sistemas de representación que producen imágenes, estereotipos e identidades hegemónicas, a partir de los mecanismos de la representación misma, proliferando nuevos modos de representación y subjetividad. / The objective of the present investigation was to explore the recent artistic production in Peru around sexual diversity, specifically about its ability to transgress social representation systems, understood as systems that install ‘truth’ in society's common sense. Generally based on essentialist assumptions such as stereotypes, which particularly, place sexual diversity in marginalization and in the non-recognition of their rights; through the analysis of images of aesthetic proposals and the speeches of training artists, self-taught artists, activists, etc. To this end, the research was conducted with a qualitative approach and semi-structured interviews, that were designed to openly explore the research problem. Likewise, an analysis of the images was made as discourse that complemented the findings. The results are divided into three dimensions: 1) art, activism and sexual diversity in Peru, 2) revolt to social representation in art: experiences in the Peruvian context, and 3) collective, community and interdisciplinary artistic practice: new creative horizons. In these, they reflect that activist and artistic practices around sexual diversity are in a process of change, in principle, by the exhaustion of the conventional ways in which activism operates, and on the other, by the logic of the neoliberalist market that appropriates the struggles for the recognition of identities, this within the framework of a growing aestheticization, sale and consumption of life models. Where, cultural productions around sexual diversity have as their main concern to transgress the systems of representation that produce images, stereotypes and hegemonic identities, from the mechanisms of representation itself, proliferating new modes of representation and subjectivity.
