Disserta??o (Mestrado) ? The Standard Operating Procedures (POPs) are instruments that express the planning of the work that must be performed to achieve a standardized service. It is a detailed description of all operations required to carry out an activity and it establishes a standardized road map for the implementation of the activity itself. The aim of the study is to verify the adequacy of the content of the twenty nine (29) POPs, made by the physiotherapy department of a hospital in Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais, referring to the respiratory therapy techniques in hospitals. The first step was a selection, through specific criteria, of nine judges that reveal domain of the area and nature of the study. The second step was to assess the content of POPs by the judges through a questionnaire adapted to the criteria suggested by Pasquali, which encompasses: comprehensiveness, clarity, consistency, critical items, objectivity, scientific writing, relevance, sequence and uniqueness. For the analysis of items of POPs by the evaluators, responses followed the Likert scale type, with four levels of support and, from this, the correlation analysis was performed using the weighted average. Items that obtained percentage below 80% have been restated based on the suggestions of the judges, and faced with the literature with clinical evidence of research. Through the validation process, several issues were recast, new shares were included in order to make the most comprehensive protocols, some personal protective equipment have been added and several
