Praha - Besançon Rudolf II. a sbírka rodiny De Granvelle / Prague - Besançon Rudolf II and the de Granvelle family CollectionJežková, Markéta January 2018 (has links)
Praha -Besançon Rudolf II. a sbírka rodiny de Granvelle Předložená práce se věnuje části sbírky rodiny de Granvelle, kterou mezi léty 1589-1601 postupně získal císař Rudolf II. Na pozadí historických událostí rodina de Granvelle během čtyř generací zažila strmý společenský vzestup i pád. Nicolas a jeho syn Antoine de Granvelle zastávali významné funkce na dvoře Karla V. a později Filipa II. Během této doby dokázali vybudovat jednu z největších a nejkvalitnějších sbírek 16. století, zároveň však byli svědky jejího rozprášení během nizozemské revoluce a postupného rozprodeje v prvních desetiletích 17. století. V současné době jsou známé pouze dvě hlavní cesty rozprodeje sbírky. Větší z částí se podařilo zachovat v Besançonu. Počtem, nikoli však významem, menší část se dostala do sbírek císaře Rudolfa II. v Praze a následně sdílela další osudy sbírek Pražského hradu. Předkládaná práce v první části podává kritický přehled dosavadní literatury věnované dané části sbírky požadované Rudolfem II. Pro českého čtenáře většinou není dostupná ani většina historicky orientovaných textů o členech rodiny, následuje proto stručný přehled jejího vzestupu, pádu a mecenariátu. Zároveň se představuje kontext, v jakém sbírka vznikala. Ústředním bodem práce je kapitola věnovaná příběhu Rudolfovy postupné akvizice....

Role of Psb28 proteins in the biogenesis of the Photosystem II complex in the cyanobacterium Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803BEČKOVÁ, Martina January 2016 (has links)
The thesis focuses on the role of Psb28 proteins, namely the Psb28-1 and its homolog Psb28-2, in the biogenesis of the Photosystem II complex (PSII) in the cyanobacterium Synechocystis PCC 6803. The aims of this work were to localize the proteins within the cells, and to determine their function. A fraction of both Psb28 proteins was identified in the monomeric PSII core complexes but most proteins were found in the unassembled protein fraction associated with thylakoid membranes. Psb28-1 was mostly detected as a dimer while Psb28-2 as a monomer. Psb28-1 also differed from Psb28-2 by its higher affinity to the PSII core complex lacking CP43 antenna. Characterization of Psb28-less mutants suggested regulatory function of the proteins in PSII biogenesis in connection with chlorophyll biosynthetic pathway. Analysis of preparations isolated using FLAG-tagged versions of Psb28 proteins showed their association with Photosystem II - Photosystem I supercomplexes, especially under increased irradiance, and supported a role of Photosystem I in the PSII biogenesis.

The culture and ideology of Achaemenid kingship 404-323 B.CAllen, Lindsay Kirsten January 2002 (has links)
This study comprises a synthesis of textual, iconographic and archaeological evidence relating to kingship in the later Achaemenid empire, from the end of the reign of Darius II to the invasion and death of Alexander III of Macedon. Chapter 1 deals with the textual evidence for the defenition of the Achaemenid dynasty in the fourth century and considers literary definitions of kingship in epitaphic eulogies and heroic conquest narratives. Authors referred to include Xenophon, Isocrates, Arrian and Herodotus and Darius I's inscriptions are discussed in detail. Chapter 2 considers 'Court Tales' in Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew, looking at how foreign groups presented themselves in the Achaemenid court and in relationship to the king. Chapter 3 begins with court tales about objects and luxury material culture associated with the Persian king and goes on to discuss pictorial and archaeological evidence for its extent and associations. A detailed survey is made of extant Achaemenid-style glass tableware. Chapter 4 expands this discussion into a survey of the fourth century royal visual environment. Two case studies examine the iconographic presentation of the king in two roles in a variety of media: the enthroned monarch accessible to petitioners and the combative royal hero fighting beasts and representatives of subject nations. Both genres represent structures through which regional cultures could formulate distinctive relationships with Achaemenid authority. Key themes throughout include regional engagement with royal culture and ideas and the continuing depth of Near Eastern historical tradition in the later Achaemenid period.

Expérience et imaginaire / The written works at the time of the reign of Charles II of Spain, 1679-1681, of a few french authors. Experience and imaginationDe Thomasson, Diane 10 July 2009 (has links)
The reign of Charles II of Spain (1661-1700) is particularly unknown in France. Few authors and travelers have been interested, in this period of history because of the periods of wars and the absence of French diplomacy at this time. However, three authors have written about a short period but one that is characteristic of the reign of Charles II of Spain – between 1679-1681. It is indeed a time of change in more ways than one. In historical terms, Charles II was the last of the Habsburgs to reign, his first wedding was to the French niece of Louis XIV, Marie-Louise d'Orleans, who died in 1693 without offspring. It was also during his reign that have the last autodafé on 30 June 1680 took place, showing an evolution of the relationship between political and religious power. This is why we have sought to look at the written works at the time of the reign of Charles II of a few French authors. A diplomat, the Marquis de Villars and his wife during their stay in Madrid, Spain wrote about Spain and the court of Charles II. The ambassador wrote his memoirs while his wife had regular correspondence with her friend, Madame de Coulanges, who remained in France. Madame d'Aulnoy wrote two works, Mémoires de la cour d’Espagne and La relation du voyage d’Espagne. These two works were inspired in part by the Mémoires de la cour d’Espagne of the Marquis de Villars, but Madame d'Aulnoy also wrote about more than just travel experiences in Spain. In addition to the revelations about Spain and its royal court, the four texts reveal fundamental aspects of the personality of the authors, history and their own personal stories. Unfortunately, authors are sometimes victims of preconceived images that are promulgated in their own countries and which alter their perception regarding the nation they are describing. Their writing also testifies at the same time a will to satisfy the curiosity of French readers, but also of their desire to reveal on their personal experiences as a different from the truth in order to give themselves more importance and to emphasize that they belong to a social elite. Finally, written works at the time of the reign of Charles II made it possible for three authors to satisfy their personal ambitions, and to use a Spain, historically rich at this time, as the subject tase for their writing talents. But the ambitions of a diplomat, a letter writter of the aristocracy and a baroness who later appears as a brilliant narrator, are obviously not the same. This Doctoral Thesis aims to show how writing about the reign of a king of Spain which was easy to discredit helped to advance their various projects.
