Analýza hrozieb a rizík súvisiacich so správou dokumentov v telekomunikačnej spoločnosti / Analysis of threats and risks related with document management in the telecommunications companyLegát, Tomáš January 2012 (has links)
Diploma thesis is dedicated to the analysis of threats and risks related with document management in a real enterprise -- big telco company. For document management company utilizes a complex solution called application DMS which is implemented on IBM FileNet P8 platform. In my work I will concentrate on risks linked with operation of DMS application. Along with the description of DMS application and document management I will mention problems perceived from the external supplier's point of view. These problems will be the basis for identification of the risks for the company emerging from the operation of DMS application. Subsequently I will evaluate risks and propose solutions to handle or avoid these risks. I will put proposed solutions into the sequence, in which they should be implemented while considering nature of the risk and financial demands of the proposed solution. Contributions of my work are list of identified risks and list of solutions which both can be used for assigning priorities of the change requests carried out in 2013 and possibly during discussions about budget increase for the DMS application operation.

Étude numérique de la relaxation de capsules confinées par couplage des méthodes Volumes Finis - Éléments Finis via la méthode des frontières immergées IBM : influence de l'inertie et du degré de confinement. / Numerical study of the relaxation of confined capsules coupling the Finite Volume and Finite Element Methods via the Immersed Boundary Method IBM : influence of inertia and of the confinement ratioSarkis, Bruno 12 December 2018 (has links)
Capsules, made of a drop protected by an elastic membrane, are widly present in nature and in diverse industrial applications, but few studies have explored the transient phenomena governing their relaxation. The objective of the PhD is to study the influence of inertia and confinement on the relaxation of a spherical capsule (1) pre-deformed into an ellipsoid and released in a square channel where the fluid is quiescent, (2) flowing in a square channel with a sudden expansion (‘step’). The capsule is modeled as a Newtonian fluid in a hyperelastic membrane without thickness or viscosity and is simulated coupling the Finite Volume - Finite Element - Immersed Boundary Methods. Its relaxation in a quiescent fluid exhibits three phases: the initiation of the fluid motion, the rapid and then slow retraction phases of the membrane. Three regimes exist depending on the confinement ratio and the Reynolds to capillary number ratio: pure, critical or oscillating damping. A Kelvin-Voigt inertial model is proposed to predict the response time constants and also applied to a capsule flowing in the microfluidic channel with a step. The comparison to 3D simulations shows its relevance at short relaxation times. This work paves the way to the study of transient flows of capsules confined in microfluidic devices.

Polešovská, L. Corporate social responsibility of multinational organizations in the information technology sector. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2017. This diploma thesis is focused on corporate social responsibility in selected multinational organizations in the information technology sector, namely on Apple, Google, IBM and Microsoft. Recommendations for those organizations are based on qualitative analysis. Based on quantitative analysis and selected organizations recommendations were developed recommendation for small and middle sized IT companies in Czech Republic. Research has shown that multinational IT organizations are socially responsible. They are paying attention to all areas of CSR and are leaders in enviromental field.

Reducing jitter utilising adaptive pre-emphasis FIR filter for high speed serial linksGoosen, Marius Eugene 14 February 2011 (has links)
Jitter requirements have become more stringent with higher speed serial communication links. Reducing jitter, with the main focus on reducing data dependant jitter (DDJ), is presented by employing adaptive finite impulse response (FIR) filter pre-emphasis. The adaptive FIR pre-emphasis is implemented in the IBM 7WL 0.18 µm SiGe BiCMOS process. SiGe heterojunction bipolar transistors (HBTs) provide high bandwidth, low noise devices which could reduce the total system jitter. The trade-offs between utilising metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) current mode logic (CML) and SiGe bipolar CML are also discussed in comparison with a very high fT (IBM 8HP process with fT = 200 GHz) process. A reduction in total system jitter can be achieved by keeping the sub-components of the system jitter constant while optimising the DDJ. High speed CML circuits have been employed to allow data rates in excess of 5 Gb/s to be transmitted whilst still maintaining an internal voltage swing of at least 300 mV. This allows the final FIR filter adaptation scheme to minimise the DDJ within 12.5 % of a unit interval, at a data rate of 5 Gb/s implementing 6 FIR pre-emphasis filter taps, for a worst case copper backplane channel (30" FR-4 channel). The implemented integrated circuit (IC) designed as part of the verification process takes up less than 1 mm2 of silicon real estate. In this dissertation, SPICE simulation results are presented, as well as the novel IC implementation of the proposed FIR filter adaptation technique as part of the hypothesis verification procedure. The implemented transmitter and receiver were tested for functionality, and showed the successful functional behaviour of all the implemented CML gates associated with the first filter tap. However, due to the slow charge and discharge rate of the pulse generation circuit in both the transmitter and receiver, only the main operational state of the transmitter could be experimentally validated. As a result of the adaptation scheme implemented, the contribution in this research lies in that a designer utilising such an IC can optimise the DDJ, reducing the total system jitter, and hence increasing the data fidelity with minimal effort. / Dissertation (MEng)--University of Pretoria, 2011. / Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering / unrestricted
