This research is justified by an increasing demand for a revision of the stereotypes about these social actors. / Essa dissertação tem por objetivo apresentar uma análise das práticas discursivas sobre o idoso no atual momento histórico (as duas primeiras décadas do século XXI), presente em alguns recortes de textos de comunicação do gênero publicitário, identificando os espaços discursivos dentro dos quais emergem os posicionamentos sobre esse ator social e estudando a relação que eles constroem entre si, de acordo com os escritos de Dominique Maingueneau sobre interdiscursividade e interincompreensão discursiva, semântica global (2005) e as noções de ethos discursivo e cenografia (2001) A pesquisa se justifica pela crescente demanda por uma revisão a respeito dos estereótipos sobre esses atores sociais
