Transpersoner har inom den svenska idrottsrörelsen haft det svårt för att hitta acceptans på grund av att de utestängs, inte tillåts träna eller tävla inom rätt könsfack. På grund av detta så har man sett att transpersoner har en önskan om att idrottscoacher i Sverige ska utbilda sig inom HBTQ-frågor eller skaffa HBTQ-certifiering. Denna studie gjordes för att få en förståelse över den nuvarande förmågan som idrottscoacher har inom bemötande av transpersoner inom den svenska idrotten, där beredskap kom att mätas via vilka utbildningar och erfarenheter som idrottscoacherna har haft tidigare, om några. Dessutom så undersöktes deras syn på transpersoner och svårigheter som de tror kan upplevas av transpersoner, detta för att se vilken attityd idrottscoacher har mot transpersoner. Resultaten kom att visa att trots att det finns få idrottscoacher med en god förmåga till att bemöta transpersoner på rätt sätt samt att endast 7% av idrottcoacherna hade tidigare coachat någon som identifierade sig som en transperson, så har idrottscoacherna en positiv och stödjande syn på transpersoner som individer. Samt möjligen att bristen av kunskaper inte är orsakad av en brist på vilja till att lära sig mer om transproblem, utan istället på grund av en brist på resurser eller tid / Since trans people in the Swedish sports movement have found it difficult to find acceptance, due to being excluded, not allowed to practice or compete with the preferred gender. As a result of this, the trans community has expressed a want for sports coaches in Sweden to educate themselves within LGBTQ issues or obtain LGBTQ-certification. This study was done to gain an understanding of the current abilities that sports coaches possess in meeting transgender people correctly within Swedish sports, where a good ability was measured via what education and experience that the sports coaches have had in the past if any. Also investigated was the overall view on trans people and the issues that can be linked to being trans, this was done to see what attitude sports coaches had towards trans people. The results came to show that even though there are few sports coaches with a good ability to deal with transgender people in a correct way, sports coaches show a positive and supportive view on transgender people as individuals. At the same time, the lack of knowledge may not be caused by a lack of willingness to learn more about trans problems, but instead due to a lack of resources or time.
