O tema desta pesquisa é o auto-retrato. Para sua realização foram usados três meios: pintura, fotografia e projeto gráfico. A pesquisa tem como ponto de partida estabelecer relações entre pintura como meio de representação (subjetividade + fenomenologia) e a fotografia como um meio indicativo (subjetividade + máquina/programa)1. Além de reforçar as questões relativas à auto-representação e à produção da própria imagem, o projeto faz um paralelo entre o auto-retrato pintado e o auto-retrato fotografado, buscando circunscrever as especificidades de cada um desses meios. Um conjunto de regras fixas e um método operacional foram determinados para a execução dos auto-retratos. Faz parte do corpus do projeto a construção de um livro (com o conjunto das imagens produzidas pelo meio fotográfico), juntamente com a execução da instalação composta pelos 238 auto-retratos pintados. Trata-se de um estudo comparativo entre dois gêneros textuais bastante parecidos, a conversação face a face e a conversação mediada por computador, mas concretizados a partir de diferentes modalidades da língua, a fala e a escrita. Nosso objetivo específico é analisar, nesses dois gêneros, aspectos formais e funcionais daquilo que a literatura entende por expressões indiciais . Também refletimos sobre o que denominamos processo de virtualização da conversação face a face a transposição, para o ciberespaço, dos elementos verbais e não-verbais e das estratégias lingüísticas e interacionais que caracterizam a conversação face a face , bem como sobre os critérios de distinção entre as duas categorias lingüísticas que costumam ser relacionadas às expressões indiciais: os dêiticos discursivos e os anafóricos indiciais. Defendemos o afrouxamento das fronteiras entre essas duas categorias, com base nas seguintes constatações: em todo procedimento dêitico discursivo sempre há uma remissão anafórica; e todo anafórico indicial possui um certo grau de deiticidade. Trabalhamos com um corpus constituído de sessões de interação face a face e no MSN Messenger, cuja análise indica haver algumas especificidades do ciberespaço que dotam os chats de características próprias, repercutindo em sua organização lingüística e discursiva. The aerodynamics phenomena of flapping motion in hover are considered in view of the future Micro Air Vehicle applications. The aim of this work is to characterize the vortex dynamics generated by the wing in motion using direct numerical simulation and experimental analysis then to propose a simplified analytical model for prediction of the forces in order to optimize the parameters of the motion leading to maximum force. A great number of cases are investigated corresponding to different angles of attack, location of start of change of incidence, location of start of change of velocity, axis of rotation, and Re number. The airfoil used is symmetrical. The flow is assumed to be incompressible and laminar with the Reynolds numbers between 500 and 2000. The experimental results obtained by the laser sheet visualization and the Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) techniques are used in parallel with the direct numerical simulation results for the phenomenological analysis of the flow. The model developed for the aerodynamic forces is an indicial method based on the use of the Duhamel Integral and the results obtained by this model are compared with the ones of the numerical simulations.
