This research developed in the Professional Master in Architecture, Design and Environment PPGAU-UFRN, studies space accessibility in areas and buildings of the Historical center of Natal-RN, aiming at a preliminary architectural design that allows the access and use of buildings in areas of historical value, considering the particularities inherent in this type of intervention. In order to subsidize the preliminary project, using the urban routes and the analysis of the framework legislation on space and urban accessibility in the area. The proposal goals the pedestrian priority, restriction of vehicle and integration spaces and historic buildings, converging towards the universal design of roads allowing the deserved appreciation of the area by the pedestrian. Following the approach of the current interventionist practices in the light of the classical theory of restoration and attributes of authenticity and integrity, the proposal includes a specific intervention in Concei??o street?s buildings ? the Sobradinho and IPHAN ? contemplating, in addition to accessibility, the potential of using cultural demand in the area, through the creation of a building annexed to the two buildings, allowing the sharing of accesses and uses, integrating them to the historical center.
