CoordenaÃÃo de AperfeiÃoamento de Pessoal de NÃvel Superior / A presente dissertaÃÃo tem como objetivo analisar as relaÃÃes recÃprocas entre pessoa-ambiente, envolvendo especificamente a questÃo da intervenÃÃo urbana e a afetividade de idosos. Para tanto, a investigaÃÃo focou-se no centro da cidade de Fortaleza como ambiente urbano de estudo e os idosos que moram nesse espaÃo e idosos que o freqÃentam. O centro de Fortaleza passa, historicamente, por processos de intervenÃÃes e ainda à afetado por Projetos de requalificaÃÃo ou revitalizaÃÃo. Essas propostas de intervenÃÃes urbanas do centro da cidade fazem-se tambÃm em funÃÃo da premÃncia de soluÃÃes para a situaÃÃo concreta de decadÃncia estrutural dos prÃdios antigos que fizeram parte da histÃria e da origem de Fortaleza. Investigar os idosos nesse ambiente torna-se importante, visto serem testemunhas vivas do percurso cultural, histÃrico e urbanÃstico do Centro. Suas vidas e experiÃncias sÃo fundamentais para os demais conhecerem os laÃos histÃrico-culturais desse ambiente. AlÃm disso, o presente os torna testemunhas de mudanÃas ocorridas no entorno, o que lhes permite serem fontes de conhecimento das modificaÃÃes realizadas no patrimÃnio ambiental e urbano. A referÃncia aos afetos no presente estudo subtende que os mesmos propiciam a implicaÃÃo dos sujeitos com algo e tem carÃter orientativo em suas condutas, de acordo com o pensamento de Heller (1979), SAWAIA (1991), BOMFIM (2003). Dessa forma, o objetivo geral dessa pesquisa à conhecer os afetos de idosos (que moram e idosos que freqÃentam) o centro da cidade de Fortaleza. Como objetivo especÃfico busca-se identificar as imagens afetivas elaboradas por estes idosos, tendo como referÃncia o centro. Outro objetivo especÃfico à relacionar os sentimentos dos idosos com as transformaÃÃes urbanas pelas quais passa e passou o centro da cidade. Como resultados, os idosos investigados elaboraram cinco imagens afetivas do centro da cidade. As imagens de DestruiÃÃo, PertinÃncia (ao passado), InseguranÃa, Agradabilidade e Contrastes. Percebemos que muitos dos idosos investigados resignificaram o Centro que vÃem hoje a partir de suas identificaÃÃes com o que vivenciaram nesse lugar em suas experiÃncias anteriores. Associamos as imagens de destruiÃÃo e de inseguranÃa Ãs referÃncias ao lugar do passado quando vinham acompanhadas por sentimentos despotencializadores como tristeza, mal-estar, decepÃÃo e inseguranÃa. De outra forma, essas mesmas referÃncias, quando associadas a sentimentos mais potencializadores como alegria, paz, amor, saudade, satisfaÃÃo, foram vinculadas à imagem pertinÃncia a um lugar do passado. Podemos dizer, por fim, que o percurso das transformaÃÃes pelas quais passou e ainda passa a Ãrea central da cidade, colocou-nos diante de sentimentos que comunicavam um centro que foi, um centro que està sendo e um centro que vai ser. As imagens afetivas dos idosos muitas vezes retrataram ora a continuidade ora a ruptura entre um presente e um passado e um devir. / The present research has as objective to analyze the reciprocal relations between person-environment specifically, involving the question of the urban intervention and the affectivity of aged. For in such a way, the inquiry in the center of the urban city of Fortaleza as surrounding of study and the aged ones that they live in this space and aged that frequents it. The center of Fortaleza passes by processes of interventions and still requalification Projects is affected by. These proposals of urban interventions downtown also become in function of the necessity of solutions for the concrete situation of structural decay of the old building that had been part of the history and the origin of Fortaleza. To investigate the aged ones in this environment becomes important, seen to be alive witnesses of the cultural, historical passage of the Center. Its lives and experiences are basic excessively to know them the bows description-cultural of this environment. Moreover, the gift becomes them witnesses of occured changes in entorno, what it allows them to be sources of knowledge of the modifications carried through in the ambient and urban patrimony. The reference to the affection in the present study that the same ones propitiate the implication of the citizens with something and have character in its behaviors, in accordance with the thought of Heller (1979), SAWAIA (1991), BOMFIM (2003). Of this form, the general objective of this research is to know the affection of aged (that they live and aged that they frequent) the center of the city of Fortaleza. As objective specific one searchs to identify the affective images elaborated by these aged ones, having as reference the center. Another specific objective is to relate the feelings of the aged ones with the urban transformations for which passes and passed the center of the city. As results, the aged ones investigated had elaborated five affective images downtown. The images of Destruction, Relevancy (to the past), Unreliability, Agradabilidade and Contrastes. We perceive that many of the aged ones investigated the Center that they today see from its identifications with what they had lived deeply in this place in its previous experiences. We associate the destruction images and of unreliability to the references to the place of the past when they came followed for feelings as sadness, malaise, disillusionment and unreliability. These same references, when associates the feelings more potencializadores as joy, peace, love, homesickness, satisfaction, had been tied with the image relevancy to a place of the past. We can say, finally, that the passage of the transformations for which passed and still passes the central area of the city, placed us ahead of feelings that communicated a center that was, a center that are being and a center that goes to be. The affective images of aged the many times had portraied however the continuity however the rupture between a gift and a past and to future.
