In this dissertation we identify two problems with current integrated development environments (IDEs) and present JQuery as a tool to address these issues. The first problem is that IDE views answer low level questions and do not provide a mechanism to combine results to answer complex higher level questions. Even relatively simple questions force the developers to mentally combine results from different views. The second problem is that IDEs do not provide an easy way to create perspectives on project specific concerns such as naming conventions or annotations. Most IDEs do offer support for creating custom perspectives but the effort required to create a perspective is considerably more than the benefit a custom perspective provides. JQuery is an Eclipse plugin which generates code views using an expressive query language. We have redesigned JQuery to support a number of new user interface (UI) features and add a more flexible architecture with better support for extending the UI. To address the first problem, we have added multiple views to JQuery where each view supports drag and drop of results, selection linking, and regular expression search. These features enable a user to combine results from different views to answer more complex higher level questions. To address the second problem, we can leverage the fact that JQuery is built on an expressive query language. Through this query language we are able to define project specific concerns such as naming conventions or annotations and then create views and perspectives for these concerns through the JQuery UI.

Mobiway AB är ett Sundsvallsbaserat företag som har utvecklat en tjänst föradministrering och bevakning av elektroniska parkeringsbiljetter. De vill nuexpandera sin verksamhet och skapa en egen parkeringstjänst – en elektroniskparkeringsskiva. Mitt uppdrag har varit att utveckla och utvärdera enelektronisk parkeringsskiva för mobila enheter byggd i jQuery mobile. För attskapa en så användarvänlig och smidig sida som möjligt kommer alltinformationsutbyte att ske med AJAX kommunikation mot en RESTwebbtjänst.Projektet består av utveckling och utvärdering av en mobilwebbklient, en affärslogik byggd som en REST webbtjänst, en databas för attlagra all information samt en kundtjänst för att administrera tjänsten.Utvecklingen kommer att ske med en agil utvecklingsmetod. Resultatetkommer att utvärderas genom en plattformstest och enanvändbarhetsutvärdering. Plattformstestet fokuserar på att utvärderakrossplattform kapabiliteten för den mobila webbklienten ochanvändbarhetsutvärderingen fokuserar på att uppmäta nyttan ochanvändbarheten hos webbklienten. Utöver teoretiskt bakgrundsmaterial ochmetodval finns resultatdelen där projektets olika delar presenteras ochutvärderingarna redovisas. Slutsatsen reflekterar och kritiserar resultatet utifrånflera aspekter. Både användbarhetsutvärderingen och plattformstestet gavväldigt bra resultat vilket visar att tjänsten är välutvecklad både tekniskt sett,utseendemässigt och att den är logisk uppbyggd. Faktum är att de flestatestanvändarna skulle kunna tänka sig betala för att använda den här tjänsten.Detta projekt är en testprototyp för parkeringstjänsten, vidareutvecklingsmöjligheter presenteras som en reflektion över de etiska aspekternakring tjänsten och den personliga informationen som behandlas av den. / Mobiway AB is a company based in Sundsvall, Sweden. They have developedan administration and monitoring service for electronic parking tickets. Theynow want to expand their business and create their own parking service - anelectronic parking disc. My mission was to develop and evaluate this electronicparking disc for mobile devices, which would be built on jQuery mobile. Tocreate such a user friendly and flexible site as possible, all communication willbe made with AJAX requests against a REST web service. The project consistsof the development and evaluation of a mobile Web client, a business logic builtas a REST web service, a database to store all information as well as anadministration panel. The development will be done with an Agile developmentmethod. The results will be evaluated by a usability test and a platform test thatfocuses on evaluating the cross platform capabilities of the mobile Web clientwhile the usability evaluation focuses on measuring the usefulness and usabilityof the web client. In addition to the theoretical background and methodology,the results section where the different parts are presented, the evaluation of theproject is presented. The conclusion reflects and criticizes the results fromseveral aspects. Both the usability evaluation and the platform test gave verygood results, which show that the service is well developed both technically,visually as well as logically. The fact is that most of the test users would bewilling to pay to use this service. This project is a test prototype for the parkingservice, further development is presented as well as reflection on the ethicalissues surrounding the service and the personal data processed by it.

På senare tid har användadet av smartphones blivit allt vanligare och idag har cirka 60% av svenska befolkningen kopplat upp sig mot internet med en smartphone, samtidigt som försäljningen av mobilapplikationer ökar. I strävan efter att nå ut till en större kundkrets söker företag sätt att sprida information via mobilapplikationer. Men då kunderna använder sig av olika typer av enheter krävs plattformspecifika applikationer för att kunna nå ut till alla. Detta för med sig högre kostnader och längre utvecklingstider. En mer kostnads- och tidseffektiv lösning är att göra en hybridapplikation, vilket är en applikation som man kan ladda ner från marknadsplatserna och är skriven i HTML, JavaScript och CSS. Examensarbetet utfördes hos rekryteringsföretaget Skill som verkar inom Data/IT och har därför som mål att ligga i teknikens framkant. Skill hade ett behov av en plattformsoberoende mobilapplikation, där jobbkandidater enkelt skulle kunna ansöka om lediga tjänster. Syftet med denna rapporten är att undersöka möjligheter och brister hos ramverken Phonegap samt jQuery Mobile vid skapandet av en hybridapplikation. Vi har studerat om man med dessa ramverk kan skapa en plattformsoberoende mobilapplikation som känns native, men även om det finns riktlinjer från marknadsplatserna som gör det svårt att göra just detta. Under projektet fick vi bättre insikt i den problematik som kan uppstå vid utveckling av en plattformsoberoende mobilapplikation. Efter att vi analyserat resultatet kom vi fram till att det är möjligt att skapa en applikation som känns native, dock måste avgränsningar göras utifall applikationen skall vara plattformsoberoende.

This thesis describes design and implementation of cross platform mobile application for coupon purchasing in the Vykupto company. First part analyzes the existing mobile Vykupto applications. New application's draft including visual application screens is created on basis of requested functional and non-functional requirements. The following part is about selecting appropriate technology to create cross-platform application. The last part covers implementation of a application prototype and user testing.

The final thesis is focused on logistics for small and medium sized companies. It describes basic logistic principles used when planning delivering goods to customers. Based on these principles it describes design and implementation of the application, which is able to plan deliveries.

The presented diploma thesis deals with designing electronic educational materials intended for learning/teaching physics at elementary schools. The work consists of the following parts. In the first part, we focuse on the description of the used HTML5 technology and its possibilities.Subsequently we analyze the applicability of the chosen technologies. The main part of the work comprises a description of designing and implementation of five selected teaching methods and their testing on interactive whiteboards and contemporary mobile devices.

Chatbots are software agents that interact with the user in a conversation. The main goal of their creation was to resemble a human being in the way they perform said interaction, trying to make the user think he/she is writing to another human being. This has been implemented with varying degrees of success. One of the most popular languages for the definition of a chatbot knowledge base is AIML.This thesis focuses on the implementation of an AIML interpreter written in Javascript to allow for a web-based client-side specific usage of AIML chatbots. The interpreter must guarantee the compliance of properly formed AIML documents, perform all the necessary pre-processing duties for the correct usage of the chatbot and ensure the correctness of both pattern matching of user input and chatbot response.The interpreter fully exploits the DOM tree manipulation functions of the jQuery library to achieve said goals, treating AIML files as if they were normal XML files. The result is a well performing, fully functional AIML interpreter tailored around AIML 1.0 specification.

När de traditionella skrivbordsapplikationerna görs om till webbapplikationer, ställer det krav på JavaScript som används mer och mer för att få fram ett responsivt gränssnitt på webben. För att underlätta utvecklingen av JavaScriptapplikationer har ett antal funktionsbibliotek skapats. I vår studie undersöker vi därför vilket av de två populäraste JavaScriptbiblioteken idag, jQuery och Prototype, som presterar bäst i dagens mest använda webbläsare. Dessa tester har utförts i ett testramverk som vi själva utvecklat för att vara webbläsaroberoende och inte kräva något av de bibliotek vi testar. Testerna är uppdelade i fyra testfall som körs 20 gånger för att ge ett mer tillförlitligt resultat. Vi har testat hur varje bibliotek hanterar traversering och manipulation av DOM-trädet, sätter och hämtar stilar och attribut på element i DOM-trädet och hanterar event på element i DOM-trädet. Testerna visade att biblioteket Prototype presterade bättre på alla utom ett testfall i majoriteten av våra utvalda webbläsare; det enda testfallet där jQuery presterade bättre än Prototype var där DOM-trädet skulle manipuleras. Trots att Prototype inte alls är lika omtalat som jQuery, verkar det vara ett bättre bibliotek att använda till webbapplikationer som ska ha ett interaktivt gränssnitt då det i flertalet av våra tester presterar bättre.
