<p>This thesis work resulted in a template for how the thermal spray process can be controlled through robot programs. The robots today and their programs need to be replaced, therefore a new structure which can be matched with the new robot systems is needed. The work is limited to only concern structured programming on the new robots on Thermal Spray Centre (TC) with the programming language Rapid. The basic data for the program was retrieved from interviews with concerned personnel at TC, from studies on process parameters for thermal spray and from existing specifications at Volvo Aero Corporation (VAC). The thesis work briefly describes the process thermal spray and the four methods used at VAC. A literature survey on Jackson Structured Programming, Human Machine Interface and structured programming was made and used to compare, evaluate and suggest improvements for the thermal spray work cell. A functional suggestion for a menu system in a robot program for the thermal spray robot was presented. This will be in the robot permanently for uploading of detail programs from a network connected computer. An example of such a detail program was made but without robot movement and communication with the process computer. Testing of the programs has therefore only been made on a robot not suited for thermal spraying. The new detail program shows its parameters directly on the screen so they can be controlled against the operation papers. A programmer\2019s guide to the detail program has been made which is presented in the report.</p>

The nature of Internet and Intranet Web applications has changed from a static content-distribution medium into an interactive, dynamic medium, often used to serve multimedia from back-end object-relational databases to Web-enabled clients. Consequently, developers need to make an informed technological choice for developing software that supports a Web-based application for distributing multimedia over networks. This decision is based on several factors. Among the factors are ease of programming, richness of features, scalability, and performance. The research focuses on these key factors when distributing images from an Oracle9i database using Java Servlets, JSP, ASP, and ASP.NET as the server-side development technologies. Prototype applications are developed and tested within each technology: one for single image serving and the other for multiple image serving. Wireless is an important part of the future and utilizing the wireless technology in project management is a great tool. This project is a messaging system designed using WAP and Java Server pages, as both of them are the technologies of the future. The project puts together a tool to help in project management made with the use of Java Server Pages and MySQL as the backend database. It uses Wireless Markup Language as the basic language for the cellular phones and the hand held wireless devices. The prototype has been modeled on project planning for power plants done by Asea Brown Boveri, Ltd.

The project is a web e-mail application to provide a web page interface for all CSCI faculty, staff and students to handle their e-mails. The application is written by JSP, Java Servlets, JavaScript and custom JSP tag libraries. Regular e-mail capabilities have been enhanced by the feature of allowing users to store and manage messages by day (store to daily folders, view in daily folders, append notes for that day).

This work describes models of modern language theory - finite automata, regular grammars and regular expressions. A web application converting among these models is implemented.
