11	Jez Butterworth'z Jerusalem and the Spirit of Liberty Pelgrom, Robin January 2023 (has links) This essay is an attempt to conduct a reading of Jerusalem by Jez Butterworth through the lens of cultural materialism with John Stuart Mill’s On Liberty as intertext. The essay conducts a brief survey of previous scholarly treatment of the play, explains the theoretical background of cultural materialism that the essay operates on, and briefly introduces the intertext. The treatment itself is based around the invocation of historical and mythical roots in the play, exploring the relevant parts of the intertext, interspersed with close reading of the play itself. The essay culminates in the understanding that the climax and ending of the play is not an end to the concept of liberty evoked in the play, but that it is a call to action for it. While the play offers no unproblematic image which could guide the direction of action, it does offer liberty as a guiding principle. 12	Interaktivní výukové modely vodohospodářských staveb pro Hydrotechnickou laboratoř Stavební školy ve Vysokém Mýtě / Interactive Instructional Models of Water Management Structures for Hydro-technical Laboratory of the High School of Civil Engineering in Vysoké Mýto Požárová, Miroslava January 2016 (has links) In 2014 a new Hydro-technical laboratory was built at the High School of Civil Engineering in Vysoké Mýto. The laboratory’s hydraulic circuit is equipped with a reserve line enabling independent standing models of hydro-technical structures to be connected. Two interactive instructional models are designed for this laboratory. The first is a model of a concrete dam. The dam is equipped with one bottom outlet, a hydraulic power plant and an emergency spillway crest gate. The discharge part of the model is equipped with a downflow baffle for regulating the tailwater level and a measuring weir enabling the flow rate to be measured at the discharge point from the model. The total capacity of the model is 10 l/s. The second model is a model of a weir structure. The weir structure consists of a controlled segment sluice gate weir composed of three sections. The model includes a one-nave lock chamber and hydraulic power plant. The tailwater level can also be regulated using a downflow baffle. The total capacity of this model is 20 l/s. The models can be used for teaching the subjects of hydraulics, hydrology and hydro-technical structures. They can be used to demonstrate various hydraulic phenomena and to describe individual functional objects using specialist terminology. This thesis contains the full project documentation for both proposed models, including hydro-technical calculations and text appendices.
13	Protipovodňová ochrana obce Brantice / Flood protection of the municipality Brantice Zahradníková, Lenka January 2019 (has links) The thesis is concerned with the design of a flood protection for the Brantice municipality, a part of which is an adjustment of the Opava river stream bed, specifically kilometer 77,6554 to 78,7020 and, moreover, a design of a reconstruction of the weir at kilometer 78,340. A capacity assessment of the original stream bed in the built-up area and its surroundings is a part of the thesis, as well as a measure to increase the stream capacity and a design of a boulder chute with a water gate, which replaced the original weir. The program HEC-RAS 4.1.0. was used for the stream capacity calculations.
14	Návrh rekonstrukce jezu v Oslavanech / Design of weir reconstruction in Oslavany Němcová, Denisa January 2020 (has links) This diploma thesis deals with a design of the reconstruction of a smixed weir on the Oslava river in Oslavany town. The introduction describes the site of interest and the the occurrence of ice events. There are several types of fish ladders described theoretically. Further on in the thesis there is desribed the state of the objects on the flow and the state of the river basin in the area of interest of Oslava river. Next part of the thesis deals with the design of a movable baying structure (a hollow flap) and fish ladder type bypass channel. An impact assessment of the current and newly proposed weir on flow in the HEC-RAS program was carried out. The project also includes the basin adjustment in overweir and an evaluation of the stability of the newly designed construction.
15	STANOVENÍ PRŮTOČNÝCH A ZATĚŽOVACÍCH CHARAKTERISTIK HLADINOVÝCH KLAPKOVÝCH UZÁVĚRŮ POMOCÍ FYZIKÁLNÍHO A NUMERICKÉHO MODELOVÁNÍ / DETERMINATION OF FLOW AND LOAD CHARACTERISTICS OF SURFACE FLAP GATES THROUGH PHYSICAL AND NUMERICAL MODELING Picka, Daniel January 2015 (has links) The subject of research were effect of elevated water level in the downstream apron on the weir flow capacity and load characteristics of the flap gate. The thesis is focused on possibilities of physical and CFD modeling of flap gate weir flow. In the introduction are contained current condition of knowledge, perfomed model studies conducted in the Czech republic and abroad, as well as flap weirs realized in our country and in the world. This is followed by experimental physical research on family of weir structure models in scales 1:1 (prototype), 1:2 and 1:2.5. Options CFD simulations a flap gate weir are contained in chapter of CFD modeling. In conclusion are compared physical methods with CFD simulations on flap gate weir.
