I blinkning till / With a Wink to

Hammare, Vilma January 2020 (has links)
This bachelor essay departs from my artistic development over time. The text reflects on the transformation from story based painting rooted in memories towards a work focused on construction and materiality. This essay examines this transformation in relation to chosen references and tries out the term intertextuality in an attempt to understand my own work today. In doing so, this text seeks to explore the informal dialogue between artistic works.

The main goal was to identify significant interventions in the learning of reading and writing in the teachers practice in São Paulo state public schools. First, there was an explanation about the main changes in Brazilian educational scenario, concerning the cycles system, the implications related to institutional evaluations, the understanding of the concept of formative evaluation and the alphabetization teachers education facing the changes proposed by public policies. A historical approach of the main concepts about alphabetization was developed, and the ideal of evaluation of each period of time was described. Next, the data collected by semi structured interview provided the interpretation of the answers that had been given by the teachers. The essence of the content was analyzed in the light of controversy between concept and practice at the same time evaluation innovations were proposed under positivist ideal. Among the current practices, the sondage and the registration of writing ability evolution in portfolios were highlighted as evaluation tools. Finally, the work pointed some progress in alphabetization practice, but it also criticized the mechanicist and reductionist approach of sondage . It showed the possibility of an evaluation which must be formative from the moment it assumes the role of liberating learning / A presente dissertação buscou analisar uma prática curricular: avaliação no contexto da alfabetização, compreendendo o intertexto entre as ações de alfabetizar e avaliar.

Campus clowns and the canon : David Lodge's campus fiction

Lambertsson Björk, Eva January 1993 (has links)
This is a study of David Lodge's campus novels: The British Museum is Falling Down, Changing Places, Small World and Nice Work. Unlike most previous studies of Lodge's work, which have focussed on literary-theoretical issues, this dissertation .aims at unravelling some of the ideological impulses that inform his campus fiction. A basic assumption of this study is that literature is never disinterested; it is always an ideological statement about the world. Mikhail Bakhtin's concept of the dialogical relationship between self and other provides a means of investigating the interaction between author and reader; central to this project is Bakhtin's notion of how to reach an independent, ideological consciousness through the active scrutiny of the authoritative discourses surrounding us. First, a brief historical outline of the campus novel is presented, together with analyses of three representative works. Lodge's novels are thereafter discussed in relation to his own literary-theoretical work, and also in relation to his attempts at bridging the gap between the academy and the world outside. The chapter demonstrates how, as a result of this bridging posture, Lodge's works, critical and fictional, become increasingly intertwined. Yet, despite Lodge’s avowed intentions, for readers without prior access to the literary canon his elaborate intertextual games fail to bridge the gap. The discussion of Lodge's first three campus novels novels shows how the authority of the Church, the literary canon, and established societal norms, is seemingly challenged in these texts. Lodge has himself invited a Bakhtinian reading of his novels, but this study demonstrates that his fiction, allegedly both dialogical and camivalesque, to a large extent advocates an ideology that is diametrically opposed to such an activity. Reigning over these novels is a mood of gloom and passive resignation—a mood which is the very antithesis of Bakhtin's insistence on activity and the camivalesque positive attitude to change and renewal. In the discussion of the last novel, it is furthermore demonstrated that Lodge's use of stereotypes wrecks any dialogical potential, and that the extended intertextual play evinces clear anti-feminist and élitist patterns. Lodge’s campus fiction confirms the myth of the isolated Ivory Tower. The attempted bridging of the gap between the academy and the outside world is not accomplished. For most readers his texts remain one-dimensional portrayals of irrelevant campus clowns. /
Diss. Umeå : Umeå universitet, 1993
/ digitalisering@umu

A semiotic approach to musical metaphor : theory and methodology

Gerg, Ian Wyatt 21 February 2011 (has links)
The idea that music acts in part as a vehicle for meaning is a truism in both popular reception and music scholarship. The language used to speak and to write about music is replete with words that describe it metaphorically. Melodies descend; rhythms speed up; timbre is smooth. Certainly, we use these terms for communicative facility, yet by applying this language to music, we create metaphors that, according to Ludwig Wittgenstein, act as frames that direct interpretation. In the paper, I put forth a theory that views metaphor as the process of semantic transfer or substitution in which a non-musical concept stands in for a musical feature, effectively enabling us to hear music as more than simply sound. The use of certain metaphors receives inspiration from previously heard music, programs, a perceived similarity with non-musical phenomena, or a combination of these. The methodology that I propose coordinates these metaphors—places them within a single frame—and enables them to interact with one another and to create a more palpable musical experience for the listener. I use Chopin's E minor and A major preludes from Op. 28 as the primary models for expounding this hermeneutic. / text

Melkisedek och Kristus : Melkisedek i 11Q13 jämförd med Melkisedek och Kristus i Hebreerbrevet

Grenehed, Rikard January 2014 (has links)
This essay has the title ”Melchizedek and Christ: Melchizedek in 11Q13 compared to Melchizedek and Christ in the Letter to the Hebrews. The aim is to investigate if Melchizedek in 11Q13 has been an intertext to Melchizedek or to Christ in Hebrews. The conclusion is that perhaps the author of Hebrews knew about 11Q13, but it does not seems like that. When the author writes about Melchizedek, the text from Gen 14:18-20 is the most important intertext, and when Jesus is the subject Psalms 110:1, 4 is the main intertext.

Tebelelo ya dingwalogare dipading tse di hlaotswego tsa O. K. Matsepe / An intertextual reading of O. K. Matsepe's selected novels

Seanego, James January 2022 (has links)
Thesis (M. A. (Northern Sotho)) -- University of Limpopo, 2022 / There is nothing new on earth. Every text is the repetition of another text, or other things already existing. This study reflects on the texts leaning thematically on other texts. It does so by critically examining the intertexts which shaped O.K. Matsepe’s four novels, namely Lešitaphiri (1963), Megokgo ya Bjoko (1968), Kgorong ya Mošate (1962) and Mahlatse a Madimabe (1981). By revealing the intertexts, it is hoped that a maximum understanding of the novels by this outstanding author is reached. Underpinned by intertextual theory, this study adopted a qualitative approach to allow a better understanding of the identified phenomena. The four novels were purposevily sampled due to their relevancy to the topic under discussion. The study employed content analysis to thoroughly analyse data which were collected using a document review method. The discussion and findings of the study clearly indicates that the Bible and culture are the two main sources which influenced Matsepe’s writing. This research contributes to the existing knowledge as it scrutinises Matsepe’s philosophical novels which are still relevant to the current epoch and beyond.
