With the focus at the Gazeta de Alegrete, from Alegrete ? the oldest newspaper from Rio Grande do Sul that is still circulating -, we show the news transformations, in the interior journalism from Rio Grande do Sul. Through the methodology of content analysis, proposed by Laurence Bardin (2009), and the categories event, news-values, journalism techniques, source, heard and quoted sources and framing, we analyzed 36 published headlines, between 1938 and 1968, in the newspaper. We also added History contributions to the study of Theories of Journalism, represented by Barbosa (2005) and Luca (2005). The sample is composed by the analysis of a copy in the months of March, June, September and December, in the years 1938, 1942, 1946, 1950, 1954, 1957, 1960, 1964 and 1968. Thus, we check the criteria for selection of the news, as well as its final presentation, with the objective of understanding the relations between journalism and politics in the period, since the Gazeta de Alegrete was aligned, first, with the Republican Party and then, to the Liberating Party. We noticed that, even with the political positioning and not being exempt from national and state debates, Gazeta do Alegrete always prioritized the local news, through news value of proximity, did a non-declaratory journalism and framed the news according to the interests of the party it supported - except at times when it was prevented by censorship. Nevertheless, it provided a service to the population of Alegrete, valuing the events of the city and region. The newspaper also followed the national journalistic changes, represented by the introduction of the lead and the inverted pyramid, although, in essence, it was still difficult to dissociate information and opinion. / Nossa disserta??o visa preencher uma lacuna existente no estudo da hist?ria dos jornais interioranos. Com foco na Gazeta de Alegrete, de Alegrete ? o jornal mais antigo ainda em circula??o no Rio Grande do Sul ?, mostramos as transforma??es da not?cia, no jornalismo interiorano ga?cho. Por meio da metodologia de an?lise de conte?do, proposta por Laurence Bardin (2009), e as categorias de acontecimento, valores-not?cia, t?cnicas de reda??o, proced?ncia, fontes ouvidas e citadas e enquadramento, analisamos 36 manchetes publicadas, entre 1938 e 1968, no jornal. Acrescentamos, ainda, contribui??es da Hist?ria para o estudo das Teorias do Jornalismo, representadas por Barbosa (2005) e Luca (2005). A amostra ? composta pela an?lise de um exemplar nos meses de mar?o, junho, setembro e dezembro, nos anos de 1938, 1942, 1946, 1950, 1954, 1957, 1960, 1964 e 1968. Assim, verificamos os crit?rios de sele??o das not?cias, bem como sua apresenta??o final, com o objetivo de compreender, ainda, as rela??es entre jornalismo e pol?tica, no per?odo, uma vez que a Gazeta de Alegrete era alinhada, primeiramente, ao Partido Republicano e, depois, ao Partido Libertador. Notamos que, mesmo com o posicionamento pol?tico e n?o se eximindo dos debates nacionais e estaduais, a Gazeta de Alegrete sempre priorizou a not?cia local, por meio do valor-not?cia de proximidade, fazia um jornalismo n?o declarat?rio e enquadrava as not?cias de acordo com os interesses do partido que apoiava ? exceto nos momentos em que era impedida por censura. Ainda assim, prestou um servi?o ? popula??o alegretense, valorizando os acontecimentos da cidade e da regi?o de abrang?ncia. O jornal tamb?m acompanhou as mudan?as jornal?sticas nacionais, representadas pela introdu??o do lide e da pir?mide invertida, embora, na ess?ncia, ainda fosse dif?cil dissociar informa??o e opini?o.

O tema central da pesquisa é a imprensa interiorana representada pelo periódico rio-pretense, tendo como foco retratar o perfil de imprensa da folha, ou seja, seu perfil editorial durante o período, evidenciando a linguagem e as técnicas de jornalismo utilizadas, bem como as concepções defendidas sobre a prática jornalística. Nosso objetivo é analisar o enquadramento dado pelo periódico aos temas tratados, as técnicas de produção utilizadas e sua posição em relação à prática jornalística, além da formatação das páginas impressas, para, desta maneira, identificar o tipo de jornalismo produzido durante o período nesta localidade do interior paulista. Para tanto, utilizaremos como metodologia a análise descritiva, crítica e interpretativa do A Notícia, tendo como inspiração a Análise de Conteúdo proposta por Laurence Bardin (2009), aliada à pesquisa e comparação bibliográfica. / The master’s research title “A Notícia”: a Picture of Rio Preto’s journalism in 1950 is to analyze the jornalistic contents of the newspaper “A Notícia”, in São José do Rio Preto city, in São Paulo state, during the 1950 – period has passed into journalism’s history as a time when concepts such as objectivity, neutrality and professionalism entered once in the agenda. The central theme is the provincial press represented by the Rio Preto’s periodic, focusing on portraying the media profile of the sheet, in other words, your editorial profile over the period, indicating the language, the journalism techniques and conceptions defended on journalistic practice. Our goal is to analyze the framework provided by the newspaper the theme concerned, the production techniques used and its position in relation to journalistic practice, and the formatting of the printed pages, for in this way identify the type of journalism produced during the period in this locality in São Paulo.
