The study is justified by the central and growing paper that the consumption assumed along the modernity in the life of the people and more importantly for the inhabitants of the great metropolises. The point-of-view of the study was directed to the young people since they formed a social stratum of quite different characteristics from the rest as regards material and psychological frailties, since they were in the tense intermediary situation between the childhood and the maturity and since they characterized the constitution of the new generation to assume place in several fields of the social activities. The hypothesis that orientates this theory is that, since the disenchantment of the world is a psychologically unbearable condition for the man, there was a sliding of some religious significant which were accommodated in the area of the consumption, and what this would be the new field, through his elements signified once again, would be able to supply some sense for the life and for the human condition on the land in an enchanted form. Methodologically, it was selected groups of young people of the periphery of the city of Sao Paulo, of the western and of the southern zones who participated in groups discussions. The study shows in its results the capacity of the consumption in establishing elements of social aggregation, of aesthetic and erotic demonstration besides offering elements for the creation of personal and collective identities / Esta tese tem como objetivo estudar, junto aos jovens urbanos da periferia da cidade de São Paulo, a capacidade do consumo em encantar o mundo. O estudo justifica-se pelo papel central e crescente que o consumo assumiu ao longo da modernidade na vida das pessoas e mais emblematicamente junto aos habitantes das grandes metrópoles. O olhar do estudo foi dirigido aos jovens por formarem um estrato social de características bastante distintas das demais no que tange a fragilidades materiais e psicológicas, por se encontrarem na tensa situação intermediária entre a infância e a maturidade e por caracterizarem a constituição da nova geração a assumir lugar nos diversos campos das atividades sociais. A hipótese que orienta esta tese é a de que, por ser o desencantamento do mundo uma condição psicologicamente insuportável para o homem, houve um deslizamento de alguns significantes religiosos que se alojaram na área do consumo, e que esta seria o novo campo, através de seus elementos ressignificados, capaz de fornecer algum sentido para a vida e para a condição humana sobre a terra de forma encantada. Metodologicamente foram selecionados grupos de jovens da periferia da cidade de São Paulo, da zona oeste e da zona sul que participaram de discussões de grupos. O estudo mostra em seus resultados a capacidade do consumo em estabelecer elementos de agregação social, de manifestação estética e erótica além de oferecer elementos para a criação de identidades pessoais e coletivas

By evaluating the proposal of the program - which combines explorations in the city, experimentations of new technologies and interventions on the neighborhoods in which the participants are residents - this investigation intends to: understand how the movement of the young participants around the city - and the perception they acquire in the relation with new ways of appropriation and uses of the metropolis - resonates in the resignifications they make about their resident neighborhood; it is also the objective, to answer how these mobile perceptions interfere in the interventions promoted by the end of the "Urban Youth" program. The young participant's narrative is the basis of the methodological axis of this investigation but the research also has as fundamentals:the evaluation of official documents distributed by the "Urban Youth" program, blog analysis; and also with ethnografical practices centered on field research and based on participant observation and interviews / Esta investigação tem como principal objetivo analisar, na situação particular do Programa Jovens Urbanos - CENPEC e Fundação Itaú Social - quais os impactos provocados em seus jovens participantes Programa em suas experimentações na metrópole paulistana. Por meio da análise da proposta do referido Programa que combina explorações na cidade de São Paulo, experimentações de novas tecnologias e intervenções nos bairros de origem , esta investigação visa: compreender como o caminhar dos jovens pela cidade e a percepção que adquirem na relação com novas formas de apropriações e usos da metrópole ressoa nas ressignificações que fazem a respeito do seu bairro de origem; objetiva, também, responder sobre como tais mobilidades perceptivas interferem nas intervenções que promovem ao final do programa por meio dos Projetos Jovens. Ainda que as narrativas juvenis constituam o eixo metodológico privilegiado desta investigação, a pesquisa fundamentou-se, ainda, nos seguintes procedimentos que compuseram o protocolo metodológico: leitura de documentos oficiais disponibilizados pelo Programa Jovens Urbanos , análise dos blogs; e finalmente, em práticas etnográficas centradas na pesquisa de campo e baseada na observação participante e em entrevistas em profundidade

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo identificar, descrever e analisar os desafios enfrentados por indivíduos egressos de escolas públicas de Ensino Médio e pertencentes a famílias das camadas populares. Amparado nos estudos da Sociologia da Juventude e nas análises sobre os processos de individuação em curso na sociedade contemporânea, mais precisamente, na abordagem do sociólogo franco-peruano Danilo Martuccelli, busca contribuir para a produção de conhecimentos sobre a condição juvenil e a situação dos jovens urbanos brasileiros. Tendo como referência o testemunho de 40 indivíduos, com idades entre 18 e 24 anos, egressos do ensino médio público da cidade de São Paulo, este trabalho sustenta a tese de que estes jovens encaram desafios estruturalmente fabricados, e que tais desafios são enfrentados a partir de recursos e de suportes desiguais. É nesse sentido que se focaliza a busca dos jovens por novas credenciais educativas, assim como suas tentativas de inserção e mobilidade ocupacional e a procura por uma relativa autonomia e independência de seus pais e responsáveis adultos, tais processos seriam dimensões importantes para a compreensão da relativa heterogeneidade dos jovens e de seus itinerários, mesmo estando eles situados em uma mesma posição social. / This work aims to identify, describe and analyze the challenges faced by young students egress from public high schools and that belongs to families of the popular classes. Based on the studies of the Sociology of Youth and on the analysis of individuation processes in contemporary society, more precisely, in the approach of Franco-Peruvian sociologist Danilo Martuccelli, it seeks to contribute to the production of knowledge about the condition of the youth and to the situation of the young people from urban areas. Based on the testimony of 40 individuals between the ages of 18 and 24, graduates of public high school in the city of São Paulo, this paper defends the thesis that these young people face structurally manufactured challenges and that these challenges are faced by unequal resources and supports. In this sense, it focuses the search of young people for new educational credentials, as well as their attempts at insertion and occupational mobility and the search for a relative autonomy and independence of their parents and families, such processes would be important dimensions for the understanding of the relative heterogeneity of young people and their itineraries, even though they are situated in the same social position.
