a metodologia empregada. O produto desenvolvido neste trabalho compreende um
tutorial de como utilizar a ferramenta Plickers. As análises qualitativa e quantitativa
das aplicações indicam uma progressão no aprendizado dos alunos e revelam que a
metodologia proposta contribuiu para promover uma maior participação e
engajamento dos alunos no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. / This dissertation involves the application of two methods still poorly employed in
Brazilian school environment, the Just-in-Time Teaching (JiTT) and the Peer
Instruction (PI) methods. Based on Ausubel's Meaningful Learning Theory and
Vygotsky¿s Sociointeracionist Theory, we propose an educational material to teach
Optics and Mechanics contents in High School level. The proposal was conducted in
first year high school classes at Colégio Santo Antonio de Lisboa, located in São
Paulo city. Within the context of the JiTT, the student had text readings and
resolution of conceptual questions about the matter of study as tasks prior to the
lecture. These issues were made using googleforms, a free tool provided by Google.
Based on the answers provided by the students, the teacher produced the
courseware of the lecture, giving particular attention to the doubts and difficulties
manifested by students in the forms. After the lecture, the group performed an
activity, also related to the matter of study, which increased the active participation of
students in the teaching-learning process. With the help of Plickers tool, it was
proposed multiple-choice conceptual questions and the student voted compulsory in
the alternative considered correct with a kind of personal QR-Code, which assures
anonymity. Depending on the hit rate, the vote was repeated after the students have
discussed the issue organized in groups. At the end, the students answered one
general evaluation form concerning the methodology employed. The product
developed in this work includes a tutorial on how to use the Plickers tool. Qualitative
and quantitative analysis of the applications indicate a progression in student
learning and show that the proposed methodology helped to improve the participation
and engagement of students in the teaching-learning process.

Využití vybraných logistický metod ve výrobním podniku / The usage of selected logistic methods in the manufacturing concernKOHOUTOVÁ, Anna January 2008 (has links)
The main aim of this work was to rate the usage of selected logistic methods and introduction of the operating system Kanban to the production line in the project {\clqq}C214 Top Roll`` of the company Faurecia Automotive Czech Republic, s.r.o, Interior Systems. A minor aim then was to find out the knowledge level of the Kanban method. Methodics Hypotheses: 1.The logistic flows used in the Faurecia company already function sufficiently enough, the proof of which is the stabilised production. 2.Using the operating system Kanban for functioning production, logistics and the whole company Faurecia is rather advantageous. 3.Training all the employees is a vital part in the process of introducing the operating system Kamban. Methods: deducion, situation analysis - collection of information, interviews, survey, questioning brief, modeling Structure of the practical part is following: company profile, character of pruduction and setting of the main logistical flows, determination of zones and stock sectors, process implementation and using of Kanban in the production line "C214 Top Roll". The first hypothesis can be confirmed by the situational analysis which evaluates the processing and logistic method. The individual methods {\clqq}met`` or {\clqq}nearly met`` the demands and because all the methods together partake of the production and the production has provided very good results in the previous months, we can consider the production being stabilised. The second can also be affirmed. If the production on a particular assembly line is stabilised, it is possible to introduce the Kanban method. Why not to use it if a there is a great advantage of this method in simplicity and lower production supplies which result in decreasing the total costs? It is beneficial for all participating on the production and for the Faurecia company as a whole. Third hypothesis can be confirmed as well. There has been a survey based on short questionaires and the knowledge of working and using the Kanban has been found inadequate. The best form of providing all the important information will be a training as a part of the process of introducing and using the Kanban method. Both aims have been resulted in stating possible recommendations and improvement suggestions: - production is stabilized, Kanban is possible to apply on 1.9. 2008 - training is necessary, meeting of responsible persons, control, messing, measures, - training of current and new workers, - motivation, communication improve, - system of regural records about information and control of chief (material and production planning)

The effectiveness of lean principles at a specific financial institution in Port ElizabethKerridge, Melissa Kim January 2013 (has links)
The world has become more competitive, complex and unpredictable, and this process is continuing. Evolution is taking place resulting in organisations being pushed by strategies and pulled by increasingly assertive customers who demand more accountability and responsiveness (Kartte, 2010). In order to remain competitive in this changing world, many organisations, even financial institutions have adopted Lean principles in order to eliminate waste, reduce cost and streamline everyday processes (Spear, 2012). There have however been a number of challenges that have prevented financial institutions from implementing Lean principles successfully. The primary objective of this study is to improve the effectiveness of Lean principles within a specific financial institution. More specifically, this study will identify the effectiveness of successfully implementing Lean principles at a financial institution by investigating the influence of employee knowledge, understanding and skills, communication, motivation and ownership from management, organisational culture and the impact of trade unions in organisations as mentioned in the problem statement above. Convenience sampling was used to select a sample of sixty eight (68) employees within the specific financial institution. The sample was stratified to include senior managers, managers, team leaders and lower level employees. Questionnaires were distributed personally to the focus groups from the above categories.

The purpose of this thesis is to implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in Nigeria Plastics Manufacturing Company. Manufacturing companies round the world pay huge amount of money for purchasing new equipments to boost their production however nothing or little is done to achieve or obtain full output from the machine for which it is intended to do. Small losses in time or deviations from planned or calculated capability are taken as usual machine performance. But currently as a result of improved capability levels and demand of quality product at lower prices, purchasing latest machine/equipment is not a way out unless it is completely used. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a method that involve everybody totally, from high management to all workers to implement a complete maintenance program for all machine/equipment during its life. This method ends up in most effectiveness of tools, equipment, virtuously improved workers, tidy up working area, neat and clean working environment. A structure is going to be developed with the potential of evaluating the impact of implementing total productive maintenance within. By evaluating the result or outcome of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), manufacturing companies can create sensible/smart decisions to improve the potency and standard of the machine, equipment and also the product on XYZ Plastics Manufacturing Company in Nigerian.

ONLINE LEARNING THROUGH EMERGING INNOVATIONS AND PLATFORMS: DIGITAL BADGES AND MOOCSJacob H Askeroth (8699952) 19 April 2020 (has links)
<p>Innovations in technology are changing not only everyday
life for many individuals around the world but are also influencing the
expansion of online learning opportunities at an accelerated rate (Collins
& Halverson, 2<a></a>018; Mah, 2016). Online learning
platforms allow for scalability, flexibility, greater global access, and
innovative and new ways to deliver education (Goodman, Melkers, & Pallais,
2019; Kizilcec et al., 2019). Enrollments in online learning programs and
opportunities have seen significant growth in recent years (Seaman, Allen,
& Seaman, 2018; U.S. Department of Education, 2018) with continued and
steady growth expected into the future.
The ubiquity and newness of new online learning formats present a
challenge in linking research and practice.
Through three separate academic papers, the following dissertation discusses
and considers key questions and topics with regards to the use of digital
badges and Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), two types of emerging online
innovations and platforms, and aspects of their efficacy. The three papers respectively 1) identify and
discuss the theoretical and empirical foundations digital badges use in
specific learners groups by reviewing current literature; 2) highlight the
application of a use case in which digital badges have been implemented as a
means to offer training; and 3) explore the perceptions of MOOC instructors
toward quality learning in their courses in a case study. Conclusions are drawn and solutions as well
as potential future directions for research and practice of discussed. </p>
