Kineziterapijos efektyvumas ligoniams po klubo sąnario endoprotezavimo operacijos ankstyvame reabilitacijos etape / Study was to evaluate the effect of physiotherapy in patients after total hip replacement, and to study the population’s characteristics

Bacevičienė, Eglė 18 May 2005 (has links)
The majority of adults > 55 years of age show radiographic evidence of osteoarthritis; however, determining definitive prevalence and incidence rates hip osteoarthritis poses methodological problems. Several factors play a role in osteoarthritis risk, including age, gender, genetics, behavioral influences, and ethnicity (D'Ambrosia, 2005). The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of physiotherapy in patients after total hip replacement, and to study the population’s characteristics. The study included a group of 60 patients from KMUK after total hip replacement. The effect of physiotherapy was performed using Barthel’s index, Keithel’s index and Pain Visual Analog Scale (PVAS). We evaluate these indexes at three times – before operation, first day after operation and at 5 – 7 day after operation. Exploration shows that more patients were women 68,3 proc., and men - 31,7 proc.. The average age of them was 66,42 ± 1,25 years, age of women was 68,85 ± 1,37 years and age of men - 61,16 ± 2,3 years. The mean of Keithel‘s index before operation was 29 ± 0,56 points, at first day after operation this index decreased 11,5 ± 0,5 points and after 5 – 7 days increased 22,58 ± 0,44 points (p<0,05). The mean of Barthel’s index before operation was 80,58 ± 0,65 points, at first day after operation this index decreased 34,25 ± 0,71 points and after 5 – 7 days increased 71,25 ± 1,22 points (p<0,05). Level of the pain was: before operation 7,48 ± 0,2 points, at first day after... [to full text]

Kineziterapijos poveikis klubo sąnario funkciniams rodikliams bei nerimo ir depresijos pasireiškimui po klubo sąnario endoprotezavimo / Effect of physical therapy on hip function as well as anxiety and depression after hip replacement

Marculevičienė, Kristina 05 May 2006 (has links)
Problem. The most effective treatment of hip arthrosis at this moment is hip replacement. For thousands of people with advanced degenerative joint disease, total joint arthroplasty provides improved function, decreased pain, and the opportunity to resume a more active lifestyle (Drake et at., 2002). Hip replacement as a resort of permanent pain and disturbed daily living is serious physical and psychological shock. Because of that person may feel fear, anxiety as well as manifest unadapted behavior syndromes such as anxiety and depression. Hypothesis: applying physiotherapy straight after operation two times per day should improve patient’s physical and emotional state and decrease anxiety and depression. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate effect of physical therapy on hip function as well as anxiety and depression after hip replacement. The tasks were: 1) to evaluate functional indicators of operated extremity before and after physiotherapy; 2) to evaluate patient‘s anxiety and depression exertion after operation and after physiotherapy; 3) to estimate correlation among evaluated indicators. Subjects: 21 patient (7 male and 14 female), who undergo hip replacement in Alytus district S. Kudirkos hospital. Subjects were tested three times: before operation, before applying physiotherapy and after physiotherapy. Physiotherapy was applied straight after operation two times per day five days a week (total 40 procedures). Methods: evaluation of: hip range of... [to full text]
