Konsultaciniame sektoriuje, kai žinios tampa nuosavybe ir galima naudoti, yra labai svarbu panaudoti turimas žinias ir gauti ekonominę naudą. Žinių valdymo aspektai buvo analizuojami Lietuvos ir užsienio autorių, tačiau mokslinių tyrimų konsultacijų nebuvo atlikti pakankamai. Žinių valdymas yra nagrinėjama įvairiais aspektais paslaugų sektorius, bet ne konsultacijų srityje. Todėl žinių valdymo perspektyvos konsultacinėse organizacijose yra svarbus uždavinys . Darbo objektas - veiksmingumą žinių valdymo konsultacinėse įmonėse. Projekto uždaviniai: išnagrinėti žinių ir supratimo apie jų klasifikaciją ir naudoti verslo sektoriuje. Apibūdinti sąvoką žinių valdymo ir procesų organizavimo, reikšmės sistemą ir modelius organizacijos, ištirti kliūtis, žinių valdymo apžvelgti kompetencijos vaidmenį, remiantis teorinių žinių aspektus valdymo, empiriškai ištirti žinių valdymo veiksmingumą ir atlikti duomenų analizės įvertinimą bei suformuoti teorinį modelį. Pagrindiniai tyrimo rezultatai: Žinių valdymas konsultacinėse įmonėse nėra populiarus. Suprasdami žinių valdymo reikšmę,konsultacinių įmonių vadovai vis tiek netaiko žinių valdymo programų. Konsultavimo įmonių vadovai informacines technologijas supranta kaip pagrindinį komponentai žinių valdymui.
