Brazil is the fourth largest producer of banana in the world, however, it presents difficulties in expressive participation in the international market, which in turn is directly related to the factors of traditional production patterns, with low investments of capital and technology in the majority of producing regions in the country. In order to have high quality fruits, there is a need to adopt numerous cultural techniques, among which is the bagging of bunches, which, despite costing the production, is a practice that has been recommended in commercial banana plantations that produce better quality fruits. In view of the above, the present work had the objective of evaluating the influence of types of materials for banana bagging on the development and quality of 'BRS Platina' banana fruits. The experiment was carried out at Experimental Farm Lageado, belonging to UNESP, Botucatu campus. The experimental design was a randomized block design, consisting of six treatments, four blocks and four plants per plot. The treatments were: T1 - control (without bagging); T2 - Polypropylene bag (TNT), black color + Kraft paper; T3 - Polyethylene bag, black color + Kraft paper; T4 - Kraft paper; T5 - Polypropylene bag (TNT), white color; T6 - Polyethylene bag, white color. Evaluations of phenological characteristics, productive agronomic performance, post-harvest quality of fruits and economic analysis were performed. The results were statistically evaluated by analysis of variance with application of the F test at 5% probability (p <0.05) and the means compared by the Scott-Knott test at the 5% probability level. It was concluded that the bagging is effective in the control of thrips of the eruption and in the reduction of defects or injuries, not affecting the production, besides promoting few changes in the physical and chemical characteristics of the fruits. The treatment with bagging using white polyethylene presented better cost-benefit, with higher average annual productivity and lower annual average cost of production.

Hygrothermal Performance of Drywall Reinforced with Kraft-Paper Honeycomb in the Canadian ContextShahbazi, Sepideh 14 April 2022 (has links)
Drywall board-based structures, a competent and cost-effective method of providing flexible partitioning assemblies in commercial and residential houses, are now widely used as walls or ceilings. However, the gypsum-based drywall that has been used in construction is not water-resistant and can create problems such as mold growth and structural defects. The aim of this study is 1) to develop a new sandwich panel with better physical and mechanical properties using locally sourced materials 2) to investigate the long-term hygrothermal performance of the new sandwich panel through using a numerical simulation. The sandwich panel is composed of two different thicknesses of kraft-paper honeycomb core bonded to two cementitious panels with silicone-based adhesive. The experimental results show that the sandwich panel with a thicker core has lower thermal conductivity and higher flexural strength compared to the gypsum-based drywall. The heat and moisture performance of two wall structures were performed using the WUFI Pro simulation program. The results of the modeling analysis present that wall assembly with gypsum-based drywall has higher water content than multilayer sandwich panel. In addition, the multilayer sandwich panel shows a 4.6% lower annual heat flow compared to the reference wall.

Fertilizante Natural: Agro Dust / Natural Fertilizer: Agro DustAvendaño Gil, Gianfranco Emilio, Bazán Durand, Daniel Antonio, Maza Fajardo, Rodrigo Alonso, Ochoa Bustamante, Juan Diego, Torres Paredes, Maria Elizabeth 27 November 2019 (has links)
The present project is based on the production and commercialization of natural and biodegradable fertilizer, which serves as a bio-stimulant for ornamental plants, with the additional value of being a water retainer for 20-21 days by applying the product once.
