Algorithmic Ability Prediction in Video Interviews

Louis Hickman (10883983) 04 August 2021 (has links)
Automated video interviews (AVIs) use machine learning algorithms to predict interviewee personality traits and social skills, and they are increasingly being used in industry. The present study examines the possibility of expanding the scope and utility of these approaches by developing and testing AVIs that score ability from interviewee verbal, paraverbal, and nonverbal behavior in video interviews. To advance our understanding of whether AVI ability assessments are useful, I develop AVIs that predict ability (GMA, verbal ability, and interviewer-rated intellect) and investigate their reliability (i.e., inter-algorithm reliability, internal consistency across interview questions, and test retest reliability). Then, I investigate the convergent and discriminant-related validity evidence as well as potential ethnic and gender bias of such predictions. Finally, based on the Brunswik lens model, I compare how ability test scores, AVI ability assessments, and interviewer ratings of ability relate to interviewee behavior. By exploring how ability relates to behavior and how ability ratings from both AVIs and interviewers relate to behavior, the study advances our understanding of how ability affects interview performance and the cues that interviewers use to judge ability.

Návrh rastrovacího systému pro chemické mapování povrchů vzorků metodou spektroskopie laserem buzeného plazmatu / Design of a scanning system for chemical mapping of a sample surface by the Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy

Suchánek, Martin January 2018 (has links)
The goal of this thesis is to design a scanning system for method of laser induced breakdown spectroscopy. The thesis contains research about laser induced breakdown spectroscopy, scanning system including all used components and chemical mapping of sample´s surface. In this thesis, the scanning system is combined with F-theta lens. The construction and optical design of the scanning system, evaluation of measured results and comparison with original motorized positioning is included.

Využití metody DIC pro měření deformací na malých zkušebních tělesech / Application of DIC method for measurement of deformations on small specimens

Vejchoda, Ondřej January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis tries to find the most suitable optical system for measuring deformation displacements on the surfaces of bodies. The first chapter describes the systems and methods that will be used. The second chapter is devoted to the design of the experiment. It describes the preparation of the experiment from the point of view of software and hardware and what are the important preliminary preparations. The last chapter contains the results of experiments and evaluation of the systems.

Laserový vysílač s optickým vláknem / Laser transmitter with fiber

Hašek, Jaroslav January 2009 (has links)
This master´s thesis deals with communication which is provided by optical devices. Optical wireless links are enforced due to high bit rate, responsibility and noise immunity. Main part of this master´s project is devoted to optical fibre, its characteristic and its usage in laser transmitter.

Generování testovacích vzorů / Test pattern generation

Hašek, Martin January 2010 (has links)
This thesis is focused on application development for simulation lenses’ optical distortions and also for creation own patterns. In the first part are discussed common problems of optical distortion and concept of software analysis. Further is described realization and implementation of particular modules in the application. In the end is show up graphical user interface and its functionality.

Optimalizace difraktivních struktur pro koncentrátorový fotovoltaický panel / Optimization of diffractive structures

Chalupa, Petr January 2011 (has links)
This work is focused on the possibility of sunlight concentration on silicon dies or silicon stripes. The main aim of this work is the design and realization of the concentration element, or system, which is based on diffractive optics and optimized to achieve possibly high optical efficiency. The theoretical part deals with problems of photovoltaic systems and sunlight concentration. The practical part deals with design of optical microstructures and their realization by e-beam lithography using the electron-beam writer BS600. Microstructures created in the electron resist on silicon substrates or embossed into transparent materials are measured in the laboratory. We evaluated and compared their optical properties, which gives some feedback for further optimizations. Transparent elements are tested with real silicon dies and so overall properties of a prototyped photovoltaic module can be evaluated.

Řídicí systém pro dálkovou laserovou spektroskopii / Control system for remote laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy

Petrilak, Michal January 2013 (has links)
The work deals with the design of the control electronics for measuring set-up for elemental composition analysis using remote LIBS techniques. The electronics is designed in modular way for light interchangeability and variability. It consists of several separate plug-ins; each plug-in solves its part of the problem and communicates with others over the I2C bus. The work describes the basic components and concepts; a special care is taken to describe the modules for stepper motors control and for communication with focusing lens from Canon company.

3D projekce fotek v OpenGL / 3D Photo Slideshow Using OpenGL

Dokoupil, Martin January 2010 (has links)
This document describes implementation of photo slideshow editor. This editor can be used to create dynamic sequences from taken photos. Image taken by camera is projected onto three-dimensional sphere and drawn to screen. Then it is posible to rotate and zoom camera over image. Visual output of this editor makes moving over image more real. If panoramic image is used, user is able to free look around. This document describes method which can translate two-dimensional coordinates to three-dimensional space. Shows how to use transformations for moving camera and methods to implement camera zoom. Contains description of user interface and also mentions extensions that were implemented in editor.

Robotický stolní fotbal / Robotic Table Football

Jediný, Lukáš January 2016 (has links)
The focus of this thesis is design and production of a robotic table football. The aim of the thesis is to select a camera and a lens and to devise lighting. The data from the camera require proper processing to assess the location of the ball, based on which the game algorithm controls the movement of the robotic players. Inherent part of the thesis is testing the player control algorithm using a simple simulation.
