Lima, Aida Franco de 27 September 2010 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 Aida Franco de Lima.pdf: 6374540 bytes, checksum: 37a15272774f5ca61a1b54c519f00841 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2010-09-27 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This work focuses on analysis of an episode which took place in the Northwestern region of Paraná more specifically in the city of Cianorte and called media s attention from 1998 to 2001. The event, named here as "The Agreement on Cianorte's Green Belt" put under the lights a 542,13-hectare green area owned by a private company which turned into a bargaining chip between the company and Parana`s state in order to ensure the preservation of a part to the detriment deforestation and the consequent subdivision of another. This report s overall objective meets the analysis of The Agreement s press coverage, emphasizing two local newspapers. When it comes to this report s specific objectives, they focus on the purpose of briefly describing the colonization process of Cianorte s area as well as perceiving the role of environmental journalism and media image as legitimizing agents on Green Belt s devastation. At the same time, this research aimed to identify the social actors involved, their interests and Green Belt s matter developments through papers. It is possible to perceive an imagery and discursive duel between two oppositional local newspapers while the episode occurred. Therefore, each press media molded texts and images according to their editorial, economical and political interests, sometimes taking some evidences for granted. Thus, popular involvement and the subject s emphasis given by external vehicles provided a new case s outcome. The analysis of the event s background based on flashy news content collected in about two years when the case was still being broadcasted by media constitutes the corpus of this research. Its theoretical support lies on the concepts of "Iconofagy (Baitello); Garden City (Howard), GM and Hollywood Journalism (Marshall and Novaes, respectively); Cultural Miscegenation (Pinheiro) and some other important contributions from different authors / Este trabalho centra-se na análise de um episódio ocorrido no município de Cianorte, região Noroeste do Paraná, que repercutiu na mídia entre 1998 e 2001.

Segatto, Bruno Félix January 2017 (has links)
This Project aims to analyze the representations and the political uses of the war and of the Paraguay’s occupation, which were made by a few argentinian journals as El Nacional, La Tribuna, La Nación e El Mosquito in the period from Solano Lopez’s death, in 1870, to the withdrawal of allied troops of the country in 1876. During these six years of occupation, Brazil and Argentina did disagree about the final peace and limits treaties to be signed with the Paraguayan government. These disputes were massively used by Buenos Aires’ press, which was connected with meaningful Argentinian political factions: nationalism and autonomism. Nationalists and autonomists used the just finished war – as the political events which were occurring in Paraguay, as the peace negotiations, the rebellions against Assunção’s government, or the maneuver of Brazilian diplomacy at that republic – as an instrument of attack, of criticism na of disqualification of the rival faction, specially during the election period. Given the characteristics of the Argentinian press during the decade of 1870, in some periods of disagreement between Brazil and Argentina, these journals criticised not only a public arena for debates regarding Paraguay’s events, but also an atmosphere of apprehention and concerns at the capital of Buenos Aires. The disagreements, the diplomatic missions, the negotiations established between Brazilian, Argentinian and Paraguayan governments, as all the repercussion and diplomatic uses that resulted in the consulted periodicals highlight that, at least between the press of the Argentinian capital, the Triple Alliance War was beyond Cerro Corá.
