Optický bezkabelový přenos / Optical cableless transmission

Němec, Filip January 2010 (has links)
This diploma thesis first handles the general issues concerning free space optics in the~atmosphere. The aim is to design and implementation of optical wireless equipment, which would serve in the laboratories of optical networks. Ronja was used as the basis for a~wireless link, which is already widespread in the world. Students will work with the device, which they may come into contact in the future. It consists several separate modules: transmitter, receiver and inteface. Each module have a separate chapter describing the~functional blocks and circuit realization. Ronja was adjusted for the needs of~laboratory tasks, where additional voltmeters measures received signal strength (RSSI) at~both ends of the link. Measuring device provides adjustment of power the transmitting LED via~computer, measures and sends RSSI values to a PC via~USB or RS232, turn off Ronja with computer. For targeting the pipes of Ronja was developed the mechanical design. In the last part of thesis the device was undergone a series of tests.

Hur matematikundervisning kan utmana elevers resonemangsförmåga ochmotivation. - En studie om vad som kan resultera i ökad måluppfyllelse på grundskolan

Sundström, Elin, Jonasson, Katarina January 2019 (has links)
The purpose with this study is to examine the aspects regarding how laboratory education can affect student’s ability to reason and their motivation for the subject.  To perform this study from a qualitative perspective we have used the method participatory observations. This studies empirical data is based on material from one pre-diagnose, six-lectures and question that mimic interview questions. The concerned subject is mathematics in elementary school grades two and five. This study is based on two theory’s, Self-determination theory that shows prerequisites for internal motivation and Mueller, Yankelwitz and Mahers framework that shows how cooperation affects students ability to develop mathematics argument.  The result shows that students ability to reason primarily are used by an investigating work method in the interaction where students get to discuss to come to a foundational idea and then uses reasoning to solve the assignment. Further the result show that students need of autonomy, competence and inherency needs to be satisfied if the students shall see the mathematic subject as interesting and pleasurable. The conclusions from the study show that if students gets their needs in autonomy, belonging and competence satisfied the knowledge requirements can be easier to reach. This study also shows that the designed working method can stimulate practice of the reasoning ability and strengthen students’ knowledge acquisition.

Evaluation of the Potential of Residual Expansion of Concrete Affected by Alkali Aggregate Reaction

Zubaida, Nusrat 01 June 2020 (has links)
One of the biggest challenges nowadays when dealing with critical AAR-affected infrastructure is to determine the induced expansion and damage attained to date in the different locations of the structure (i.e. diagnosis), to forecast its potential for further distress over time (i.e. prognosis), as well as its potential structural implications. There are a number of prognosis techniques that have been developed in the past decades which are currently being used worldwide. Yet, most of these approaches use residual expansion procedures based on accelerated laboratory tests performed on cores extracted from damaged structures. However, the majority of the results gathered from these tests have been found to be inaccurate when compared to the swelling behavior of the respective structure in the field and several potential issues have been raised with respect to the test setup and alkali leaching. This work aims to evaluate the efficiency of the various commonly used laboratory setups to assess the residual expansion of AAR-affected concrete. Three different setups (i.e. 38°C and 100% RH; 38°C and soaked in 1M NaOH and; 38°C and wrapped in 0.7M NaOH) and two types of reactive aggregates (fine and coarse) were selected for this research. Expansion is monitored over time and four damage degrees (i.e. 0.05%. 0.12%, 0.20% and 0.30%) are selected for further chemical, microscopic (DRI) and non-destructive tests. Results demonstrated that the 1 M NaOH protocol is much more aggressive than the other two setups. Furthermore, it provides the samples with a unique damage pattern that is different from field affected concrete. Finally, the proposed setup shows to be reliable in providing tested samples with similar deterioration mechanisms than expected. Yet, more efficiency in the reaction kinetics and understanding of the alkalis exchange from the system is still required.

Stanovení vybraných biochemických parametrů a jeich diagnostické a prognostické hodnoty u septických onemocnění / Determination of biochemical parameters and their diagnostic and prognostic value in sepsis

Jenčo, Jaroslav January 2014 (has links)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Biochemical Sciences Candidate: Bc. Jaroslav Jenčo Supervisor: prof. MUDr. Jaroslav Dršata, CSc. Consultant: Ing. Jana Netriová, PhD. Title of diploma thesis: Determination of biochemical parameters and their diagnostic and prognostic value in sepsis Sepsis is a relatively common complication that may be signed by the increased mortality of patients. It affects all ages, regardless of gender. Occurrence is more frequent in polymorbid and immunosuppressed patients. The most effective method to prevent the development of septic complications is quick and accurate diagnosis. In the period from 1.6.2012 to 01.4.2014, we observed 697 patients hospitalized due to the development of septic complications and we analyzed statistically tracked markers: presepsin, procalcitonin, C - reactive protein, interleukin - 6, lactate, D - dimer, fibrinogen and quantity of leukocytes to determine their predictive and diagnostic value. Largest correlation was observed between comparison of presepsin with procalcitonin and presepsin with C - reactive protein, which reflected rapidly changing status of patients. Moderate correlation was observed in lactate, interleukin - 6, D - dimer concentration and leukocyte count. Between the development...

Laboratorní diagnostika plísní rodu Fusarium / Laboratory diagnostic of mold genus Fusarium

Vitáčková, Petra January 2018 (has links)
Submitted diploma thesis deals with laboratory diagnostics of filamentous micromycetes (moulds) genus Fusarium in the laboratories of medical mycology. In the first part of the diploma thesis is dedicated space for general familiarization with filamentous microscopic fungi. Next separate chapter describes the genus Fusarium, especially in relation to human medicine. The final part of the diploma thesis summarizes current possibilities of laboratory diagnostics of filamentous micromycetes, focusing on the genus Fusarium. Invasive infections caused by filamentous fungi are increasingly common complication, especially in immunocompromised patients. In most cases they affect the patients with hematologic malignity and patients after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation or solid organ transplantation. The most common etiological agent of such infections is unambiguously the Aspergillus genus. However, in recent years, increasingly cases of infections due to less common filamentous fungi, including Fusarium spp. are described. Invasion fungal infections are associated with very high mortality. The basic requirement thus becomes the speed and accuracy of diagnosis. The most important methods for the laboratory diagnostics of invasive infections caused by filamentous fungi are conventional methods -...

Avaliação da degradação do poliestireno expandido (geofoam) por meio de ensaios de laboratório /

Carneiro Neto, Mozart Mariano. January 2019 (has links)
No entanto, o EPS é extremamente susceptível a solventes, hidrocarbonetos e raios ultravioletas. (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Expanded polystyrene (EPS), which among many materials, also gives rise to a gessynthetic, geo-expanded, which is widely used in geotechnical works, because when compared to other materials, has a lower specific weight which decreases the structure's own weight. , minimizing any repression. In addition, the combination of high strength and low compressibility make it a good choice for geotechnical works. However, EPS is extremely susceptible to solvents, hydrocarbons and ultraviolet rays. In this sense, few studies have explored the degradation aspects of the material in geotechnical applications. Thus, the present work evaluates the degradation of expanded polystyrene (EPS) by results of laboratory tests. For this purpose, EPS samples were used in five different specific masses, namely: 10.0, 14.5, 18.0, 22.0 and 33.5 kg/m³. The degradation process of the samples was evaluated by exposure to the weather for fourteen, thirty and forty five days and exposure to gasoline vapor for seven, fourteen and thirty days. To evaluate the degradation process water absorption, uniaxial compression and (EPS/EPS) interface direct shear tests were performed. The tests were performed after each exposure period and the results obtained were compared to the reference values of the fresh samples. The main results show that the water absorption values, for both types of exposure, present similar behavior, so that the absorption is inversely proportional to the specific mass. Regarding uniaxial re... (Complete abstract click electronic access below) / Mestre
