Vliv vibrací brousícího vřetene brusky na chvění obrobku při broušení / The influence of the vibrations of the grinding spindle of the grinder on the vibrations of large shafts during machining

Hanych, Libor January 2018 (has links)
This master's thesis deals with vibrodiagnostics and its use for monitoring of the vibration transmission during grinding of large shafts at Siemens Electric Machines s.r.o. based in Drásov. Diagnostic system for machine tools testing was designed as well as a measurement methodology, which is used to detect the vibration transfer from the grinding spindle to the workpiece. Influences that affect the quality of the ground surface were determined, based on evaluation of measured data. The last part is dedicated to a proposal of a diagnostic and measuring system.

Dlouhý, Vít January 2020 (has links)
This master's thesis is focused on the technology fundamentals of machining for the use of the CNC lathe which was used for machining the required parts are made of stainless steel. In the introduction are mentioned the historical milestones related to machine tools. In the following chapter is analyzed machining process and related fact. A follow-up chapter contains the parameters common to a modern machine tool CNC machines. Followed by the practical part with the characteristics of the machined components. The next chapter includes a selection of CNC lathe for production. Continued by selecting the appropriate cutting tool and adjusting the machine for the given component. They were applied a total of three variants of production with the subsequent evaluation. In conclusion, it became established fact, for example, the advantages of the shape tools or the use of more spindles during the machining.

AI Based Modelling and Optimization of Turning Process

Kulkarni, Ruturaj Jayant 08 1900 (has links)
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / In this thesis, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) technique is used to model and simulate the Turning Process. Significant machining parameters (i.e. spindle speed, feed rate, and, depths of cut) and process parameters (surface roughness and cutting forces) are considered. It is shown that Multi-Layer Back Propagation Neural Network is capable to perform this particular task. Design of Experiments approach is used for efficient selection of values of parameters used during experiments to reduce cost and time for experiments. The Particle Swarm Optimization methodology is used for constrained optimization of machining parameters to minimize surface roughness as well as cutting forces. ANN and Particle Swarm Optimization, two computational intelligence techniques when combined together, provide efficient computational strategy for finding optimum solutions. The proposed method is capable of handling multiple parameter optimization problems for processes that have non-linear relationship between input and output parameters e.g. milling, drilling etc. In addition, this methodology provides reliable, fast and efficient tool that can provide suitable solution to many problems faced by manufacturing industry today.

Key factors influencing checking in maple veneered decorative hardwood plywood

Burnard, Michael D. 23 October 2012 (has links)
Face checking in decorative maple veneered plywood panels is a significant problem for hardwood plywood manufacturers, furniture makers, cabinetmakers, and consumers. Efforts made by panel producers and researchers to minimize checking conducted to-‐date have been limited, and produced contradictory results. In this study the impact of four manufacturing factors believed to contribute to check development in decorative maple veneer panels were determined. The factors investigated were face veneer thickness and preparation, lathe-‐check orientation, adhesive and core type. An efficient, automated, optical technique based on digital image correlation principles was developed and used to detect and measure checks as they develop. The novel new method for characterizing check severity and development was effective in efficiently measuring checking for a substantial number of samples. The results of the factor screening analysis reveal intricate four way interactions between factor levels contribute to check development, and that some combinations are likely to exhibit much more checking than others. / Graduation date: 2013

Konstrukce dvouosého suportu vícevřetenového soustružnického automatu / Design of a two-axis multi-spindle lathe carriage

Sedlář, Jiří January 2021 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of a two-axis multi-spindle lathe carriage. In the first part, there is made a research, and its aim is to find possible variants of design solutions. After the best rated variant was selected, the thesis further continues with the necessary technical calculations of the main design nodes such as a synchronous servomotor, ball screw, linear guide and bearing. The design itself was carried out with regard to calculations and the resulting model was examined in terms of dynamic stability. The subject of examination was to find the natural frequencies of the assembly and to determine the amplitudes of the oscillations which arise from the harmonic excitation force. Finally, Lobe diagrams for grooving and longitudinal turning operations were drawn.
