Sensorless Control of a Bidirectional Boost Converter for a Fuel Cell Energy Management SystemMcLandrich, Andrew M. 21 August 2003 (has links)
Fuel cells have the potential to provide clean power for a variety of uses including stand-alone residential power. But to increase the acceptance of fuel cells for off-grid generation, the cost of the energy management system must be greatly reduced. Of the many ways to accomplish this, this paper looks at reducing cost through topology changes and elimination of current sensors. A dual 2.5kW non-isolated bidirectional boost converter is designed and analyzed. The various bidirectional boost topologies are compared on cost and ability to meet the specifications. A sensorless average current mode is designed, implemented and verified through testing in a low-cost fixed-point DSP. Both boost and buck modes are accurately modeled and voltage and current controllers are designed for good closed-loop response. The accuracy of the sensorless average current measurement is investigated in both modes of operation. A classical dual-loop controller is implemented in boost mode with the sensorless average current and in buck mode, a dual controller operating in either current or voltage mode is implemented. The design is verified through testing in boost and buck mode and it is shown that the results are acceptable. / Master of Science

Přenosný číslicově řízený stabilizovaný zdroj symetrického napětí / Portable digitally controlled stabilized source of symmetrical voltageHynek, David January 2020 (has links)
This thesis deals with a design of a power supply for a measuring equipment for a geophysical mapping intended to do a reconstruction of an electrical impedance of a ground environment of water reservoirs. The power source is going to be used for laboratory measurements and for outdoor experiments. The thesis describes the selection of suitable components, equipment design and testing. The theoretical part explains the functions of used components and the principle of an electrical impedance tomography. The conclusion summarizes the properties of the proposed solution and evaluates the final product.

Zkoumání vlivu velikosti aditiv záporné aktivní hmoty na životnost olověného akumulátoru / Investigation size effect of negative active mass additive on service life lead-acid accumulator.Mikoláš, Jiří January 2010 (has links)
The task of research work is to study new mechanisms and to minimize disturbance of lead batteries for hybrid electric vehicles. Those arising under the PSoC (Partial State of Charge) and is linked to irreversible sulphation mainly negative electrodes. As one solution to prevent sulphation of the negative electrode appears to be the active ingredients in a negative matter. In the investigated electrodes is verified the influence of carbon, titanium dioxide and silica on the grain size of the order of nanometers.

Zkoumání příčin předčasné ztráty kapacity v olověných akumulátorech pro hybridní elektrická vozidla / Investigation causes of the premature capacity loss in accumulator for hybrid electric vehiclesVystrčil, Marek January 2010 (has links)
This thesis describes the results of two successive experiments. The first was focused on the influence of impurities in the active mass of negative electrode in PSoC (Partial State of Charge) mode, which simulates the conditions occurring in HEV (hybrid electric vehicle). In the second experiment, cells with the same additives were exposed to optimum downforce 4N/cm2, by which we wanted to prove the influence of pressure on life of VRLA (Valve Regulated Lead Acid) cells working in operating HEV conditions.

Vliv přítlaku v olověných akumulátorech pro hybridní elektrická vozidla / Influence of pressure in the lead-acid batteries for hybrid electric vehicles.Svoboda, Marek January 2011 (has links)
Lead-acid batteries of hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) are functioning in PSoC regime (Partial State of Charge). In PSoC regime new fail mechanisms occur. These mechanisms usually lead to nonreversible sulphation of negative electrodes. Main aim of this research is to avoid negative electrode sulphation and to improve lifetime of lead-acid accumulators used in HEV.

Vliv teploty na životnost olověného akumulátoru / Influence of temperature on lead acid batteries lifetimeKopečný, Martin January 2011 (has links)
Lead –acid batteries are the most common type of secondary cells used in automotive industry. This diploma thesis deals with the influence of temperature on their lifetime. In the preamble of this work is shortly described their history, division, construction and processes during battery operation. There are noted unfavorable phenomena which have an impact on increasing the temperature inside the battery. The first experimental part is devoted to evaluation the effects of addition on the temperature rise during charging. The second part is focused on conditions simulation in hot areas at the temperature above 30 °C and effects of this temperature on the function of lead – acid batteries.

The project considers realization system, which will allow us to test six different operation modes on lifetime accumulators. The system will link to computer, which will execute measurement current and tension and switch betwencharging and discharging modes. The measured values will record in someone time intervals in to computer memory. After someone time will analise these measured valuer and will provide optional operation mode.

Vliv pulzního nabíjení na vlastnosti olověných akumulátorů / Influence of the pulse charge on properties of the lead acid batteriesZbožínek, Štěpán January 2013 (has links)
The presented master´s thesis deals with lead-acid batteries and methods of their charging. First part shortly describes the problems of lead-acid batteries. There are introduced common principles, type of construction and requirements, that should be complied with lead-acid batteries. Following part discusses the basic characteristics of charging. There is given a detailed description of current pulse charging method, on which is also mainly focused this master´s thesis. For this charging method, several basic experiments were done in order to verify functionality of the measuring device, software, the tested cells and primarily to verify charging modes. The goal of this thesis is to find out suitable mode of pulse charging, which would be fast as well as tested cells-friendly. The conclusion of this master´s thesis contains a resume of acquired theoretical knowledge and an evaluation of measured results, on which was the appropriate charging mode proposed.
