The aim of this research was to investigate, by means of questions, the knowledge and use of the Digital Certification in Dentistry Radiology Clinics which offer to its clients, electronic type files. 450 questionnaires were sent by e-mail for all the Brazilian radiologists registered at the Federal Council of Dentistry. There were 16 questions about computerization level in their clinics as well as Digital Certification knowledge degree. 158 answers were received meaning 35.1% as returning rate. The obtained dates were statistically analyzed by Frequency Distribution analysis and Fisher Exact Test. In accordance with the results, all the interviewed radiologists used in their Radiology Clinics, electronic type files. However, only 13.5% from Southeast area, 13.3% from South area, 25.0% from North area and 7.1% from Center west and Northeast areas signed their digital documents. 79.1% of the interviewed ones had affirmed that they had doubts on how to acquire Digital Certificates and didn¿t know the total cost for its acquisition. According to results, it was concluded that digital files are so much used by the Dentistry Radiology Clinics; however, Digital Certification is little used to sign this archives. Little is known about Digital Certification as well as its use. This data suggests that a wide spreading about the importance of the Digital Certification by government structures and/or Dentistry Councils is requested. / Mestrado / Radiologia Odontologica / Mestre em Radiologia Odontológica

Maritime piracy legislation for NigeriaNkomadu, Obinna Emmanuel January 2017 (has links)
As a result of maritime piracy attacks in the Gulf of Guinea, especially in the West Africa sub-region, off the coast of Nigeria the researcher started carrying out research in 2014 on the laws pertaining to piracy. In this regard Nigeria does not have the legal framework to effectively address the threat of piracy off its coast but a Bill entitled: “Piracy and Other Unlawful Acts at Sea (and Other Related Offences) Act” has been forwarded to the Nigerian National Assembly in order to criminalise ‘piracy and other unlawful acts at sea’. For this reason, the researcher deems it necessary to examine the provisions of the Bill to determine whether it is adequate to address the threat of piracy or whether there is a need to reform or improve it. As a result of the research, it was revealed that the Bill will never achieve the purpose for which it was drafted as the legal framework on piracy of the Bill has many limitations which makes it easier for perpetrators to escape punishment. In order to achieve the goal of this Bill, the researcher deemed it necessary to contribute by drafting maritime piracy legislation for Nigeria that effectively addresses the threat of piracy off its coast, relying on the preparatory work for UNCLOS and other global, continental and regional instruments relevant to maritime piracy. Relied upon also are comparative analyses of piracy legal system of Anglophone African States and Nigerian legislation. This draft legislation amends the limitations of the Bill and is in accordance with legal notions of piracy which emerge from the combination of the principles of criminal and international law.

Preventing Childhood Drownings in Backyard, Residential Pools: Understanding Stakeholders' Roles in Knowledge Mobilization and the Creation of a 2017 Protable Pool Safety Social Marketing Campaign in Ottawa, ONValentino, Kylie January 2017 (has links)
In this first manuscript, the research purpose was to explore stakeholders perceived roles in mobilizing pool safety knowledge and to understand the barriers associated with the uptake of pool safety initiatives. Six water safety experts were interviewed to gain insight into their perceptions and diverse roles. Using grounded
theory, it was determined that stakeholders perceive they have a role in mobilizing pool safety knowledge. Three overarching themes emerged from the data which aligned with a proposed Drowning Prevention Spectrum: pool safety experts perceive their responsibility in mobilizing pool safety knowledge through their role in developing knowledge and skills as a safety educator; developing and promoting campaigns and products through their role as a marketer of behaviour change; and through their role in the development and enforcement of policies and legislation. Interviewees were also asked what they perceived as some of the major barriers to the uptake of pool safety information and initiatives. Interviewed stakeholders revealed that the main social ecological barriers included personal barriers (cost and time), social barriers (policy and awareness), and physical barriers (backyard aesthetics). The results of the first manuscript demonstrates that even though all interviewed stakeholders perceive they have a role in mobilizing pool safety knowledge, there are still barriers in the uptake of pool safety knowledge by citizens and pool owners. The second manuscript focused on using Weinreich’s (2010) process model and semi structured interviews with six pool safety experts as well as marketing experts to create a social marketing campaign to emphasize the risks associated with portable pools. This article goes through the six steps outlined by Weinreich (2010) as well as using theories in the development of the campaign messages. Through interviews, experts gave their opinions and suggestions on most effective
campaign messages, images, target audience, and promotional channels. The mock
campaign ads were then presented to the marketing team in whom they gave their ideas and suggestions on how to hook the target audience in wanting to learn more about portable pool safety. A final campaign was crafted and will be implemented in a future City of Ottawa initiative.
