January 2017 (has links)
Playing for child is something pleasurable and meaningful, for the adult playing is a secondary action in its roster of activities and that should happen after the completion of the obligations, tending to be eliminated of his life slowly. The present study deals the playfulness in child's life and in adult life, in order to understand the relation between the ludic activities and both children and adults. It must be emphasized that the term "playfulness" does not have a universal definition, so this research uses the term playfulness according Giovanina Gomes de Freitas Olivier's ideas who assigns to it a freedom, something that does not need an end in itself in addition to relate it as enjoyable activities. In this case, we consider games and plays, inserted into the term "playful", as well as other activities that bring happiness those who practice them. Thus, this research aims to potentiate the discussion and reflection on the playfulness and its importance in the constitution of the adult from the study of the book "Peter Pan", from James M. Barrie (1995) and movies based on it, "Hook" (1991) and "Finding Neverlands" (2003). Methodologically, a bibliographical research, a content analysis and a film analysis were used. We conclude that the playfulness occurs in children's life and in the adult life depending on the value or devaluation of this action, and dependin... Primary to secondary school transfer and adjustment : the role of physical educationReeves, Colin Geoffrey January 1997 (has links)
This study examined the relationships and differences amongst selected physical education and psychological characteristics of boys before and after secondary school transfer. The purpose of the study was to determine the significance of boys' attitudes to physical education, motor performance and physical education self-esteem (self-perceptions of performance in physical education) at the age of school transfer, and establish the role of physical education before and during adjustment to secondary school. Independent samples of Primary schoolboys (n = 50) and secondary schoolboys(n = 107) formed a cross-sectional study, whilst twenty-five primary school transferees formed a small-scale longitudinal study. Pupils' attitudes towards physical education, motor performance and physical education self-esteem (PESE) were assessed during the last term at primary school and on two occasions (December and June) during the first year at secondary school. In addition, global self-esteem and anxiety were measured at each stage, and a self-report school transfer questionnaire was administered at the end of the transfer year. From these sources, low self-esteem, high anxiety and negative attitudes to secondary school were used as indicators of poor school adjustment. Differences amongst the psychological variables across transfer revealed that the move to secondary school appeared to be a positive experience for most boys. However, those boys identified as poorly adjusted to secondary school were less sure of themselves, more anxious, and recorded lower global and physical education self-esteem. Correlational analysis and discriminant analysis of low, average, and high motor performers (actual and perceived) revealed that poor motor performance was not consistently associated with low global self-esteem, high anxiety, or poor school adjustment. In contrast, low physical education selfesteem was associated with negative psychological characteristics and all the indicators of poor secondary school adjustment. Findings also suggested that physical education self-esteem may serve (1) as a mediating variable between actual motor performance and global self-esteem, and (2) as a mediating variable between physical education experiences and school adjustment. On the basis of the results, a preliminary model of secondary school adjustment incorporating physical education is presented for discussion and empirical test. Also in light of the study's findings, the National Curriculum for England and Wales is analysed to consider the extent to which physical education experiences are likely to assist children's motor and psychological development before transfer and during secondary school adjustment.

Salvador

Previous issue date: 2015-03-13 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / This research aims to explore leisure in urban daily life on the North Side of São Paulo. It refers to the Cultural and Sports Centre implemented by Serviço Social do Comércio do Estado de São Paulo (SESC/SP) named SESC/Santana. In order to achieve results about SESC/SP's strategy for socio-educational leisure, project "Curumim Program" was chosen, especially considering that this project has been lead since the inauguration of SESC/Santana. The choice of this theme is based on the fact that leisure in São Paulo is a subject scarcely studied academically.
The working method adopted was based on the analysis of images, reports, videos, interviews and specialized bibliography about leisure produced by SESC/SP. Such historical sources clarified that the strategy used by the SESC reveals an unique way to organize time/space for leisure / O objetivo principal desta pesquisa foi realizar estudos sobre o cotidiano urbano do lazer na Zona Norte paulistana, especialmente relacionado ao Centro Cultural e Desportivo implantado pelo Serviço Social do Comércio do Estado de São Paulo, o SESC/Santana.
