Pedagogika volného času - animace nebo manipulace? / Leisure Education - animation or manipulation?

The dissertation is trying to find out, if there are used only animation technics in the leisure education, or if it is affected with manipulation as all other parts of our life. For the objective answer there was a need to define clearly the manipulation, it´s various forms and then also concepts, which are directly connected with manipulation or on the contrary they should exclude it. It was primarily about authority, freedom, might, and the mass behaviour. Subsequently it was necessary to concentrate on various types of education and on the occurrence of manipulation in them. After finding out that manipulation became the part of education it was convenient, for the needs of this dissertation to define the manipulation from the ethical point of view. The last chapter evaluates the individual methods and practical instructions of leisure education, trying to find out if manipulation occures in them, or if it is about the pedagogical influencing which means the ethical acceptable form of manipulation.

The first part of the thesis describes theories of intelligence, specific theories of intelligence, mental retardation, causes of mental retardation, and focus on the relationship between theories of intelligence and pedagogical theory and practice. The second section presents an overview of current educational theories and practices, the education of gifted children and education of mentally retarded children. The last part deals with the range of leisure activities for gifted children and children with mental disabilities.

The thesis presents possibilities and hazards resulting from the combination of experience-based education methods and those of doing philosophy with children. Having defined the terms used, it introduces the aims, key features and basic methods of leisure education; furthermore, experience-based education is described in more detail together with its fundamental elements: dramaturgy, adventure, reflection and games. The latter two elements are understood to be the links between experience-based education and Philosophy for children program. Then, the follow-up reflection on the interface between Philosophy with children and experiential activities is the substantial part of the thesis. Besides other topics, the philosophical aspects of games and reflection (review) as possible ways of experience-based philosophical inquiry are dealt with. Thus, in the closing part of the thesis, the potential for connecting philosophical inquiry and the experience itself is outlined.

The present master's thesis deals with the issue of non-formal non-vocational adult education occurring in particular during leisure time of individuals. The objective of the present study is the analysis of the current outlook of the informal education of adults outside working activities in the Czech Republic. The study has focused on the level of participation of the adults in the non-formal non-vocational education as well as the provision of the offer of educational activities. First of all, the thesis has focused on definition, functions as well as the utilisation of leisure time by the adults as well as determination of the non-formal education. Furthermore, the focus has been laid to adult leisure education and adult citizenship education, in particular their goals, the content and forms as well as the participation of adults in the non-formal non- vocational education, the offer and institutions that provide this education. Empirical investigation of the master's thesis has focused on the non-formal non-vocational education of employees working at various administrative positions in the Czech Republic. 1 ABSTRACT The thesis discusses possibilities of application of the concept of lifelong education in Basic Art Schools. The goal of the thesis is to propose a basic model of adult education which could be applied in Basic Art Schools. It focuses on the analysis of the literature on lifelong learning, lifewide learning, further education, and also on the analysis of strategic documents of the European Union and the Czech Republic in the field of lifelong learning and further education. Based on the analyses of the documents and external environment, a model of adult education in Basic Art Schools is proposed, the applicability of which is verified by a research investigation. A survey research examines the existence of education of diverse target groups of adults (both laymen and experts) in Basic Art Schools in Prague, the ratio of adult to younger students and the employed methods of their education. Structured interviews among five headteachers of Basic Art Schools in Prague clarify specific details of the process of educating adults in Basic Art Schools and provide more observations on the topic. This final thesis deals with innovations in the management of informal education. The main goal of this work is to determine the extent to which the executives of leisure education organizations recognize the need for innovations in different areas of the organization, to compare the extent and content of specific innovations in selected organizations and explore in which areas and based on which stimuli the innovations in these organizations arise. The obtained information is useful for efficient preparation of further training of organization executives and described examples of good practice as an inspiration to improve the performance of leisure and informal education organizations. The theoretical part incorporates leisure and informal education into the overall education system of the Czech Republic and its development is illustrated on the laws and decrees from 1948 to present. Research in the form of structured interview reveals the respondents view on innovations in leisure education and shows the respondents experience with the introduction of innovations in their own organizations. The thesis deals with school educational programs of institutions which organize free time activities for children and youth in Pilsen and in Blovice. The first part characterises school educational programs, free time education or institutions which organize free time activities.The beginning of this first part deals with law of free time education in school system, forms of free time education and then it deals with process of making the school educational programs, their content and structure. In practical part there is a specification of selected institutions which organize free time in which the research was done. There are the research characteristics, questions and methods of the research. Next part analyses and compares school educational programs in selected organizations which work with free time activities for children and teenagers. The aim of the practical part is to compare information which is written in school educational programs and assess the quality and quantity of detected data. The aim of the master's thesis is to clarify the concept of open clubs. Basic terms connected to an open club are defined in the first part of the thesis. Spontaneous activities and low-threshold approaches are the most important there. The principle of low-threshold approaches are typical also for other institutions, that are registered in law. It concerns low-threshold centres for children and youth. The origin, development, aiming and activities of these centres are described. The thesis explains open activities for young people offered by different leisure time centres. Also open clubs and Salesian centres offer these activities. The last chapter of this part shows basic differences between an open club and a low-threshold centre for children and youth. The second part of the thesis deals with a detailed analysis of the School Education Programme of a chosen centre carrying on an open club. The aim of the research is to find information about the open club in the document and evaluate the extent and the quality of the discovered details.
