The presence of diverse cultural elements, distributed in a topographical scenario also setup diverse, makes the neighbourhood under study, reveal tensions and conflicts, making more complicated the formatting of a vision that understands the construction essentialist identity as pure result of belonging to a given location or social group. Moreover, the very social subjects, spread simultaneously in the various instances of social groups, taking their influences and contributions to them, print in identity profiles, cultural nuances, making the groups more open to the polyphony of its members, participating so, as active elements of the whole process of individual construction and collective identities / Com o mesmo esforço investigativo iniciado no curso de Mestrado, procurando detectar características culturais que possibilitassem revelar possíveis traços de identidades no bairro da Liberdade Salvador/BA , a partir de estudos sobre as procedências dos indivíduos sociais que lhe deram origem, retoma-se agora a problemática, como processo de doutoramento, dando continuidade e desenvolvimento às reflexões, aprofundando mais nos seus detalhes, tentando entender os processos de construção identitária, desenrolados nas redes de intersubjetividades tecidas por seus moradores nas suas relações sociais cotidianas, nos interiores dos blocos afros e dos afoxés do próprio bairro. A presença de elementos culturais diversificados, distribuídos num cenário topográfico de configuração também diversa, faz com que o bairro em estudo revele tensões e conflitos, tornando mais complicada a formatação de uma visão essencialista que perceba a construção identitária como puro resultado do pertencimento a um determinado local ou grupo social. Por outro lado, os próprios sujeitos sociais, espalhados simultâneamente nas diversas instâncias de grupos sociais, levando suas influências e contribuições para eles, imprimem nos perfis identitários matizes culturais, tornando os grupos mais abertos para a polifonia dos seus integrantes, participando assim, como elementos ativos, de todo o processo construtivo das identidades individual e coletiva.
